I agree. Now, as to the "should's", President Trump has the power to do ALL of those things, either directly, or through his Attorney General. He should do so IMMEDIATELY. Cut off the snake's head at the start.

And he should fight everything. This time, unlike Nixon, if Trump is presented with blatantly partisan subpoenas and a biased court upholds them, Trump should reject the court's decision as well. If the "establishment" wants a constitutional crisis, Trump should give it to them full blast in the face with both barrels.

In that sense, the ballot box in November 2020 will be the battlefield of a political civil war. If it turns into a shooting war, move decisively with authority and crush the criminals.

Additionally, the WB is protected for lawful disclosures to "a congressional intelligence committee, or a member of a congressional intelligence committee". Staffers are not included on that list. When Liddle' Adam Schitt claims the WB did not talk to him directly before filing the complaint, but did talk to some staffer, that is evidence that the WB did not follow the proper reporting procedures and thereby lost any claim to whistleblower protections.

WB protections were ot included in the IC Whistleblower Protection Act of 1998. They arose in Title VI of the Intelligence Authorization Act (IAA) for Fiscal Year 2014, and are codified at 50 U.S.C. 3234, excerpted in relevant part below.

(b) In general

Any employee of an agency who has authority to take, direct others to take, recommend, or approve any personnel action, shall not, with respect to such authority, take or fail to take a personnel action with respect to any employee of a covered intelligence community element as a reprisal for a lawful disclosure of information by the employee to the Director of National Intelligence (or an employee designated by the Director of National Intelligence for such purpose), the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, the head of the employing agency (or an employee designated by the head of that agency for such purpose), the appropriate inspector general of the employing agency, a congressional intelligence committee, or a member of a congressional intelligence committee, which the employee reasonably believes evidences—

(1) a violation of any Federal law, rule, or regulation; or

(2) mismanagement, a gross waste of funds, an abuse of authority, or a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety.

I don't really care about the law here. That law is always supposed to protect people, but whenever Democrats are facing danger or asserting power, there are leaks that favor them. Where are the leaks favoring Trump, or Republicans. The lack of leaks demonstrates a conspiracy, and the fact of the conspiracy means that it needs to be exposed to sunlight, so the People can decide.

As I have noted elsewhere, this is an impeachment campaign. This is a partisan political operation, pure and simple. It is organized crime on a grand scale.

Various agencies of Alphabet City even have their favorite newspaper they choose to leak to. The leakers might as well be viewed as double agents. When they leave the agency, frequently a contract with CNN or MSNBC awaits.

It IS organized crime on a grand scale.
