Yep - the Easybeats had a groovy sound back in the day. I remember hearing this for the first time when I was 12 or 13 - in the back yard playing catch with the tall catholic girl from two houses down and trying to teach her about baseball.
Another thing I distinctly remeber from that time was no chemtrails! (just kidding) But I did see a Flying Wing aircraft flying over a few times, pretty sure it was this one:
Northrop XB-35
I think the Easybeats only had a couple of hits.
- I still like hearing the original, but Thompson et al do a doggone fine acoustic version.
Government is in the last resort the employment of armed men, of policemen, gendarmes, soldiers, prison guards, and hangmen. The essential feature of government is the enforcement of its decrees by beating, killing, and imprisoning. Those who are asking for more government interference are asking ultimately for more compulsion and less freedom.

I seem to recall just that one big hit by the Easybeats, which still holds up well today.
Though I appreciate this acoustic cover (and the spirit), this rendition came up short IMO. (harder to do than you'd think; The guitar chord progressions are tricky.)

That seems to be the audience's reaction as well. (cued to 2:15):
A lot of bald heads, gray hair and white dress shirts....
I'm guessing maybe the crowd wanted to hear his more "traditional" songs. Kinda like what happened to Rick Nelson in the song "Garden Party".
