Watching The Cops Title: Four sheriff’s deputies hid during Florida school shooting Students hold their hands in the air as they are evacuated by police from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., on Feb. 14. AP Not one but four sheriff’s deputies hid behind cars instead of storming Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during last week’s school shooting, according to a new report. Sources from Coral Springs Police Department tell CNN that when officers arrived on the scene, they were shocked to find three Broward County Sheriff’s deputies behind their cars with their weapons drawn. The school’s armed resource officer, Deputy Scot Peterson was also outside — he resigned Thursday over his failure to act. The cops entered the building to engage the shooter on their own, and then a new batch of Broward County deputies arrived, and two of those officers — plus an officer from Sunrise, Florida — joined the police inside the building, the sources said. It’s unclear if the shooter was still inside at the time, CNN reports. Bad blood has been brewing between the two law enforcement groups ever since the Feb. 14 massacre. Coral Springs City Manager Mike Goodrum confronted Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel over the incident during a vigil the following day, saying injured kids could have been dying inside the building while the deputies held back, sources tell CNN. In response, Israel said Coral Springs cops first showed up after confessed gunman Nikolas Cruz had left the school. The sheriff — in comments to the Miami Herald — seemed to suggest that, even had these three deputies charged into Building 12 of Douglas HS, it would have been too late anyway. “We know it was approximately four minutes after the shooter departed the school when the first Coral Springs police officers arrived,’’ Israel told the paped. “We’re investigating every aspect of this.” A day after Goodrum’s confrontation with Israel, Coral Springs Police Chief Tony Pustizzi wrote in an internal memo: “I understand that another agency has given the impression that it had provided the majority of the rescue efforts, and that the tremendous work of the Coral Springs Police and Fire Departments has not been recognized.” “Please know that this issue will be addressed, and the truth will come out in time,” he added. The Coral Springs officers’ experiences will be included in a new report coming out next week, according to the news site. Poster Comment: Too dangerous in that school, those kids are on their own! And these heroes all went home safely to their families. /s(1 image) Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Begin Trace Mode for Comment # 41. #16. #31. To: hondo68 (#16) Gay Sheriff wedding, Broward Sheriff Scott Israel Ramadan, and much more... Just...WOW. A homo-centric Po-Po Broward County Sheriff and his posse of princesses. Right -- "What COULD go wrong"? EVERYTHING. And it did, didn't it? I think the problem in Broward has been 'splained pretty well in your photo gallery, Hondo. Let's put the blame where it belongs; Faggotry, Democrats and their effete Prog "policing" and policies don't mix with actual LE. As in Frisco, Blue Towns/Cities and much of CA with their dismissing of Illegal Invader criminality, we saw the same in Broward; This punk was reported a gazillion times for threatening the public. UNTIL HE ACTED OUT.

I rather go back to the days of one flew over the kookoos nest, and we institutionalize the nuts... but DickTard and the snowflakes will scream unconstitutional meanness. On a different note, if any responding officer is found to not have acted, or acted outside the scope of their well documented training, they should be charged.

I agree 100% on that count; THAT is a yuge part of the problem. Liberal-Dems and GOPe somehow concurred that it'd be "compassionate" to NOT institutionalize the lunatics that now terrorize America. THAT is on THEM (and NO ONE wants to consider the "nut" factor in this; Only the "medication" part or "too many gun" component...) Well chyeah -- when NUTS get their hands on gun, then guess what?? As to presuming Deckard's position on this, I'd bet he actually agrees with us on this, and with the anti-Snowflake position. On a different note, if any responding officer is found to not have acted, or acted outside the scope of their well documented training, they should be charged. Hear ya. I presume that to be your position.
#38. To: Liberator (#36) I rather go back to the days of one flew over the kookoos nest, and we institutionalize the nuts... Actually - I do agree with you on this. The only problem I can see is who decides what's crazy? The State can eventually use this much in the same way other tyrannical regimes have in the past, labeling dissenters and criticism of the government as insanity.
#41. To: Deckard, GrandIsland, redleghunter, rlk (#38) Actually - I do agree with you on this. Yep. Legit question and conundrums. We can all see where this logic leads... So again: "WHO DECIDES WHO AND WHAT IS CRAZY?" It's clear that's officially been tasked to the pro-Left American Psychiatric Association. So having been anointed America's high priests and arbiters of defining "CRAZY" on behalf of an over-officious State, we already see Law Enforcement deferring to a Judiciary/State, which in turn defers to the "behavioral experts" of a politically left APA when considering "crazy" or criminal guilt or sentencing. And ALL of it deferring to the Ministry of Propaganda, society's un-official Judge and Jury: THE OVER-ZEALOUS, INSANE LEFTIST MAINSTREAM and LEFTIST SOCIAL MEDIA OPINION. (Imagine that Crazy Train?)
We can all see who the weaponized target of "Crazy/Insane" will be: Yup, Conservatives. Gun-owners. Christians. Republicans. Gubmint. And those critical of the APA itself, Democrats, Marxists or Globalists. The "Thought Crimes" list will be totally based on politics (as if it already hasn't.) Actual ways of determining "CRAZY" are AS WAS in the past. Like considering the frequency and degree of repeated physical threats and displays of public perversity and universal anti-social behavior (although no standard of morality, ethic or normalcy or "anti-social behavior" seems to be on the Left's radar or "universal" anymore in their queer paradigm. We can again thank the "Science" of Psychiatry for this.)
