Sports Title: Here’s Why You Probably Won’t See Any Anthem Protests At The Super Bowl NBC announced early last week that they plan to televise players who kneel for the national anthem during the Super Bowl. However, ones small problem: No regular NFL kneeler is still playing in the postseason. According to a report by The Washington Times, none of the teams that had active national anthem protesters made it to the post season. According to the Times: None of those franchises made the playoffs, even though four of the five did so in the previous season, leading to speculation about whether the take-a-knee protests wound up dragging down team performance along with TV ratings. Multiple sports psychologists told the Times that the kneelers most likely were “detrimental to team cohesiveness” and a “distraction” to their success. At the end of the NFL regular season, only 20 players were still actively protesting the anthem. The protests punctuated one of the lowest rated NFL seasons in history, with the ratings dropping by 9.7 percent and game attendance declining as well. Studies attribute the poor fan engagement to the anthem protests. The NFL has considered official rules banning protesting the anthem on the field for next season. That sounds heavy-handed, oppressive and un-American. How about, "The NFL is considering official sanctions for those players who choose to protest the National Anthem during the game." See? No "banning". No rules. No controlling of players. This is America. Players have a choice. If the NFL bans protesting, they lose when the first player kneels -- "NFL Ban Not Working!"

I hadn't read this before. But Jacksonville had a bunch of kneelers (including the owner at that disgraceful game in London) and it didn't seem to stop them from having an unexpected good season.
#3. To: Tooconservative (#0) As a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, I am disgusted that they found yet another unique way to lose a game. I can think of at least 20 instances where they lost games in this manner, yet can't think of a single time they won one in such a manner. The consolation was that the the Vikings on the deciding play praised Jesus and the Saint who blew the game was a kneeler.
