New Jersey high school wrestler forced to cut locks or forfeit match
Post Date: 2018-12-27 12:47:06 by misterwhite
BUENA, New Jersey (WPVI) -- The New Jersey Division on Civil Rights is now investigating after a high school wrestler was forced to cut his hair before a match. The incident has sparked questions about why the teen was called out for his hair. Many say the only reason why there was a call to cut the hair was because of the color of the wrestler's skin. Buena Regional High School wrestler Andrew Johnson, a junior, had to have his hair cut or forfeit the match. In video taken of the incident, you can see his locks getting chopped off by a trainer. He would then go on to win his match. The order to cut the locks came from referee Alan Maloney. Back in 2016 Maloney reportedly called ...
The latest "boys beat girls in track event" story
Post Date: 2018-06-11 08:42:46 by Tooconservative
We have a high school sports story out of Connecticut from last week which is likely going to be of more interest than you might think. (Assuming youre not one of the parents who brought their child to the event, anyway.) On Monday, the Connecticut State Open track and field championships were held for high school students. Of particular interest were the girls 100 and 200 meter dash. Lets watch one of those record-setting events via a tweet from Game Time Connecticut. (Its a very short video.)See Also: The real winner from the Trump-Kim summit could be

Deflated: NFL popularity at new low, just 3 in 10 are 'favorable'
Post Date: 2018-06-02 15:25:53 by Tooconservative
The National Football League has done nothing to recover during the off season from its miserable popularity ratings that are now at the lowest ever. Rocked by the issues of players taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, overly long games, and scandalous players, just 35 percent say they have a favorable view of Americas sport. According to an Economist/YouGov poll taken May 27-29 another 47 percent have an unfavorable view of the NFL. What's more, only 15 percent called the NFL a "top interest," and 37 percent said that they are "Not at all interested" in the games. Many teams are already in early training camp ...
Report: Some NFL players may sit out the season unless Kaepernick -- and Eric Reid -- are signed [Full Thread]
Post Date: 2018-05-29 05:14:36 by Tooconservative
How many activists need to be signed before sufficient wokeness has been achieved to play ball? You can certainly trust hyper-progressive activist Shaun King to give you the straight dope on what star NFL players are and arent thinking: BREAKING: Several star @NFL players have told me they are considering sitting out the season until the de facto ban of Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick is removed and both men are given spots back on rosters. They aim to get 25% of the players to sit out with them. Shaun King (@ShaunKing) May 27, 2018 Reid was one of the first players to kneel alongside Kaepernick during the national anthem and has since filed his own collusion grievance ...
Redskins cheerleaders: The team practically "pimped us out" to rich dudes and corporate sponsors in Costa Rica in 2013
Post Date: 2018-05-03 00:52:39 by Tooconservative
Silver lining, I guess: The name Redskins is no longer the teams biggest political problem. There was no actual sex in this pimping out, the Timess sources say, just some of the traditional pre-coitus arrangements for an escort service. A group of attractive women all in the firms employ are told that a group of wealthy men wants to mingle with them privately, and saying no doesnt seem to be much of an option. Allegedly, when you sign up to cheer for the Skins youre also unwittingly signing up to be companions for rich fans in foreign countries after theyve watched you model topless. Oh, and after team management ...
Ratings for NBC's Olympics Continue to Stink on Ice
Post Date: 2018-02-21 21:34:29 by Tooconservative
#GetWokeGoBroke. Actually it's a combination of things, though I'm sure the little political statements from Olympians who don't even get a medal aren't helping. As Donny Two Scoops might say, "Me? I like Olympic heroes who crack the single-digits in rankings, not the ones who take tenth place." Downhill dive: NBC's terrible Olympics get worse in week two as marquee names flee, ratings sink and anchors struggle to find anything good to cover in the wake of school massacre The 2018 Winter Olympics have produced few medal winners from Team USA and provided little must-see TV for broadcaster NBC On Monday, NBC learned that Mikaela Shiffrin was withdrawing from ...
Here come the Russians in Olympic figure skating and controversy is right behind
Post Date: 2018-02-20 14:47:07 by A Pole
PYEONGCHANG, South Korea The womens figure skating competition hasnt begun at these Olympic Games, yet we already know who is going to come in first and second, barring epic collapses on the ice, which could happen, but probably wont. An Olympic Athlete from Russia will win, and another Olympic Athlete from Russia will come in second in the competition that begins Wednesday with the short program and ends Friday with the long. [...] It wouldnt be a top international womens figure skating competition without its share of controversy, however. This one involves one of the Russians. (Of course it does.) Its the way Zagitova has laid out her long ...
Comedy Skit Features Fans Who Want MORE Politics In Their Sports
Post Date: 2018-02-18 18:15:16 by Tooconservative
We The Internet, a "political and comedy news channel," uploaded a video recently, titled "The Fans Who Want More Politics In Sports." The video takes a look at a fictional group of sports fans who not only praise kneeling NFL players, but crave more political commentary from their sports. "And thats just football. What about hockey?" one fan asks. "Wouldnt it be amazing if right before the puck drops, we hear a debate about trans rights?" Another fan suggests: "How about this: after committing a penalty, instead of hockey players just sitting in the penalty box until their time is up, they should be required to write a think-piece ...
Super Bowl LII had fewest viewers since 2009, down 7 percent from last year
Post Date: 2018-02-06 03:34:10 by Tooconservative
The NFLs ratings slide continued through its final game of the season. According to Nielsen data released Monday, viewership for Super Bowl LII was measured at 103.4 million, the lowest figure for the game since 2009 and a 7 percent drop from last years game. The good news for the NFL is that its annual championship game still easily reigns supreme among all TV shows, and to a lesser extent, that the Super Bowl ratings drop from last year was lower than the leagues nearly 10 percent plunge for its regular season games. Ratings for most TV programming is down, as people increasingly cut the cord from cable and follow events on social media. To that end, NBC, which ...
Why Tom BradyÂ’s New England Patriots Are the Most Tainted Sports Dynasty Ever
Post Date: 2018-02-04 16:01:49 by Tooconservative
Thank God for the New England Patriots. Yes, the New England Patriots, the cheating-est, MAGA-est dynasty in sports. Why be grateful for the presence of this unholy, and seemingly unstoppable team in the Super Bowl yet again? Because its one of the few good and true reasons to tune into the game, if only for the miniscule possibility that Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and owner Robert Kraft might be dealt a righteous and wholly justified loss. Aside from that, no amount of Puppy Bowls, celebrity halftime performances, and multimillion-dollar ad buys is worth it, because this may have been the year that finally broke football. For anyone still laboring under the delusion that there are ...
Madden NFL 18 predicts Super Bowl 52
Post Date: 2018-02-04 09:55:11 by Tooconservative
Madden NFL 18 predicts a 24-20 Super Bowl victory for the New England Patriots over the Philadelphia Eagles, which would give this years cover star, Pats quarterback Tom Brady, a sixth world championship ring. In EA Sports simulation which is a CPU-versus-CPU game with current rosters on All-Pro difficulty New England is trying to salt away the victory when the Eagles Malcolm Jenkins strips the ball from running back Dion Lewis. Philadelphia, trailing by four, gets the ball back with 1:44 left, apparently deep in its own territory.Quarterback Nick Foles, who took over when starter Carson Wentz was injured in week 14 of the season, gets the Eagles to about ...
Meek Mill to watch Super Bowl from prison
Post Date: 2018-02-04 09:12:40 by Willie Green
Rapper Meek Mill and the other inmates at SCI Chester will get to watch the Super Bowl in prison. But, for Mill, the game has special meaning. The Philadelphia Eagles will take the Super Bowl field -- arguably the largest stage in the world -- to his song "Dreams and Nightmares." SCI Chester confirmed with with PennLive Saturday that Mill will have the choice to watch from his cell on a TV purchased from the commissary or on one of the community TVs designated for the entire block. Mill released the following statement on the Eagles Super Bowl run: "I'm so proud of my Eagles for making the Super Bowl and representing the city of Philadelphia. It really lifted ...
Here’s Why You Probably Won’t See Any Anthem Protests At The Super Bowl
Post Date: 2018-01-17 11:36:48 by Tooconservative
NBC announced early last week that they plan to televise players who kneel for the national anthem during the Super Bowl. However, ones small problem: No regular NFL kneeler is still playing in the postseason. According to a report by The Washington Times, none of the teams that had active national anthem protesters made it to the post season. According to the Times: By the end of the regular season, only five teams featured at least one player regularly sitting or kneeling on the sidelines for the anthem: the Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders. None of those franchises made the playoffs, even though four of the ...
NFL Ratings Plunge Again For Divisional Playoff Round
Post Date: 2018-01-16 12:18:07 by Tooconservative
The NFL just can't buy a break. Although there were a few decent games over the past weekend including the crazy, last-second win by Minnesota ratings for America's football league dropped once again. Viewership has been down all year, due to both the player protests during the national anthem and a whole lot of boring games. But NFL owners were hoping the playoffs would end all that. No such luck. The Wild Card round two weekends ago saw ratings drop 13% over last year (and the games were pretty crummy). Then last weekend, for the divisional playoff games, ratings for all four games fell to their lowest point in almost a decade, according to NBC. The good news, if ...
Ratings Down for All Four NFL Playoff Games, Chiefs-Titans Least Watched in 5 Years
Post Date: 2018-01-09 10:29:08 by Tooconservative
Following a regular season where most NFL fans decided they had better things to do on Sunday afternoons than watch football; it appears those same fans still have better things to do on Saturdays and Sundays in the postseason. The first round of playoffs suffered double-digit ratings drops, as the NFL begins the most important part of its calendar year, Awful Announcing reported. Saturdays Tennessee Titans-Kansas City Chiefs game didnt deliver for ESPN or ABC, losing two full ratings points over last years game. The game drew a 14.7 overnight rating compared to last years 16.6 for the Houston Texans-L.A. Raiders game. It was the worst rating since 2012, Awful ...
NFL television ratings down 9.7 percent during 2017 regular season
Post Date: 2018-01-04 16:30:15 by Tooconservative
NFL television ratings fell 9.7 percent during the 2017 regular season, according to numbers registered by Nielsen. A typical game was watched by 1.6 million fewer people this season as compared to last season (14.9 million versus 16.5 million). The drop comes after the NFL had hoped to stem an 8 percent ratings slide from last season by experimenting with the format for television commercials and trying to speed up the game. Last year's slide was partly attributed to a lost audience due to the presidential election. This year, the NFL was challenged with fans upset at players protesting during the national anthem, an action that led to a league faceoff with President Donald Trump. ...
Ravens admit anthem protests tanked their ticket sales
Post Date: 2017-12-23 11:14:17 by Tooconservative
The Baltimore Ravens are no longer in contention for the AFC North title, having fallen too far behind the Steelers, but they are currently tied with the Bills and the Titans for a wild card slot and theyve been showing a lot of potential. They play the Colts today in a home game that could prove to be a make or break match in terms of their chances at a post-season appearance. With that much on the line, youd expect the stadium to be buzzing, but in addition to the Colts, Baltimore is facing another battle. Theyre trying to fill up the seats at M&T Bank Stadium and avoid yet another embarrassing display of sparsely populated stands. The Ravens sold out every single ...
Week 10: Thousands of Empty Seats Still Plague NFL Stadiums
Post Date: 2017-11-13 09:13:15 by Tooconservative
Photos of empty seats continue to make their appearance on Twitter as the NFLs Week 10 games debut on Veterans Day, this weekend. Though only a few players decided to protest the country on this day dedicated to our soldiers, fans stayed away in droves. According to the Twitter account Empty Seats Galore, the Rams handed out 60,032 tickets for the game as they met the Houston Texans beating the Texans 33 to 7. But apparently, not many fans turned out to see the game. #NFL #shotonapotato #HOUvsLAR RT @ImaPaleoVegan: @[me] Wow #TexansVsRams pic.twitter.com/2ArrkVAvz0 Empty Seats Galore (@EmptySeatsPics) November 12, 2017 #HOUvsLAR RT @benmaller: Rams say they ...

Roger Goodell: NFL fans dont come to stadiums to be protested to Jason Rowan Sportress of Blogitude November 8, 2017 NFL commissioner Roger Goodell perhaps made his strongest remarks regarding the leagues national anthem protest controversy by stating, People come to our stadiums to be entertained and have fun, not to be protested to. Goodell was a speaker at Bloombergs The Year Ahead Summit in New York on Wednesday and to no surprise the polarizing anthem protest issue was addressed. Goodell opened his remarks by expressing a preference for players to stand during the anthem. I think thats one of the things I think when we have a ...
NFL Anthem Protests Continue As Owners Dither, Trump Agitates, Fans React

NFL Anthem Protests Continue As Owners Dither, Trump Agitates, Fans React by Bruce Haring Deadline October 22, 2017 11:19am National anthem protests continued during Week 7 in the National Football League, although the headcount of those kneeling or otherwise acting out during the song has greatly diminished, mirroring media coverage of the actions. Both protesting players and those opposed to their tactics now seem locked-in on their respective stances on the righteousness of the protests. The same players who protested in previous weeks either stayed in the locker room, kneeled or sat, while many teams stood and locked arms in a compromise maneuver. On the other side, President ...

ESPN President Thinks Fox News Is Conspiring Against The Network Photo of David Hookstead

ESPN president John Skipper thinks Tucker Carlson, Fox News and Clay Travis are involved in a conspiracy to destroy the network. Travis broke the story fed to him by sources at a meeting with Skipper in Los Angeles, and the details dont look good for the sports network. The Outkick the Coverage founder wrote: Skipper then attacked me by name, saying that Clay Travis is someone whos out to get us and is spreading misinformation devoted to destroying ESPN. (Id love to know what misinformation Im spreading, since everything Ive reported about ESPN has proven to be 100% accurate.) He also attacked Fox News taking shots at Tucker Carlson in particular and pointed ...
NFL Now One Of Most Divisive Brands In America
Post Date: 2017-10-12 13:37:21 by Tooconservative
The National Football League is steadily climbing its way up the list of most polarizing brands in the country. While the net favorability of the NFL among Hillary Clinton voters is +38%, it's -24 among supporters of President Trump, the New York Times writes. That puts it seventh on the list, after Trump Hotels, CNN, NBC News, The New York, MSNBC and Fox News. About three weeks ago before President Trump said that N.F.L. owners should fire players who kneel during the national anthem Democrats and Republicans held relatively similar views about the league. About 60 percent said they viewed it favorably, while about 20 percent said they viewed it unfavorably, according to ...
'Sunday Night Football' Ratings Decline Continues Photo of Katie Jerkovich
Post Date: 2017-10-09 18:12:44 by Tooconservative
Sunday Night Football suffered again in the ratings battle, despite the exciting game Sunday night between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans. NBC and the National Football League scored a 10.6/18 in metered market households in the match that saw the Chiefs beat the Texans 42-34 at NRG Stadium in Texas, according to Deadline Monday. Thats a drop of 3 percent over last Sunday nights match where the Seattle Seahawks beat the Indianapolis Colts 46-18. Those numbers make it the lowest rated game so far in a season, which has seen ratings drop as NFL players and coaches allow protests during the national anthem. Last week, SNF ...

Vice President Mike Pence departed an NFL game Sunday afternoon in response to several players who knelt during the playing of the National Anthem. Pence and his wife Karen were among the spectators in Indianapolis for a contest between the Colts and San Francisco 49ers. After more than 20 San Francisco players took a knee for the song, he left.
