Zig (CZ) was right about the match ups. Should have had a RH starter in game 3 or 4 of the series in Texas. Lewis or Gallardo. If you play the matchups and they still beat you shake their hand say good game and then whisper in their ear, "Wait till next time"... :) Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #153. Of course, KC always has (except when the Broncos are involved, then I am not disappointed). потому что Бог хочет это тот путь #154. To: SOSO, CZ82, liberator, tomder55, GarySpFc (#153) Way to go Meties! 3-2 win. I forgive you for all those heartbreaking years as a kid eating those lousy hot dogs at Shea stadium:) Not to mention all the years my dad yelled at the TV:) "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #155. To: redleghunterSOSO, CZ82, liberator, GarySpFc (#154) I was on the fence as a kid . But growing up on Long Island ,and being taken to Shea stadium by my dad and the boy scouts I was inclinded to root for the Mets . Then they made a series of trades that killed my loyalty . The 1st one was trading Amos Otis for Joe Foy. Then they trades Nolan Ryan for Jim Fergosi . The trade that decided it though was moving Tom Seaver to the big Reds machine for a package that included Doug Flynn and Pat Zachary . I am now going to be a front-runner and jump on the Mets bandwagon. For the most part they are a likable group ;and I'm a big fan of Jacob DeGromm . Yesterday he "struggled" and gave up 2 runs . The best Yankee pitchers gives up that many runs in the 1st inning . Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #156. To: redleghunter, CZ82, liberator, GarySpFc (#154)
They predicted in the 'Back to the Future' movies that the Cubbies would win the 2015 World Series. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/13902322/back-future-screenwriter-bob-gale- discusses-prediction-cubs-2015-world-series-champions?sf14229328=1 Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #157. To: tomder55, redleghunter, SOSO, Liberator, GarySpFc (#155) Mets vs Cubs These teams on paper look pretty even all the way across the board, ERA, BA, HRs etc, etc... So you would think it should end up being a close series with a lot of tight 1-2 run games. And I don't really see one team having the experience factor over the other so to me this is a tossup. It's to bad one of these teams has to lose but that's the way it goes... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #158. To: GarySpFC, SOSO, redleghunter, Liberator (#148)

#160. To: GarySpFC, SOSO, redleghunter, Liberator, tomder55 (#148) Royals vs Toronto Pitching wise the Royals have the match ups if the starters can go 6 innings cause the BP is deep and shutdown capable, which was in evidence last night. I would have to say Royals in 5 maybe 6... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #161. To: CZ82, redleghunter, SOSO, Liberator, GarySpFc (#157) Mets vs Cubs My mind goes back to Sept 9,1969 . Tom Seaver vs Ferguson Jenkins ...two of the greatest pitchers of all time in the middle of a tight race to decide the division. Shea was packed ;the crowd was raucous. There were loud applause and thunderous foot stomping . In the middle of the game ;probably spooked by all the noise , a feral black cat who was living in the depths of the stadium wandered onto the field and bolted past the Cubbies dugout . http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.297425!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/ derivatives/article_970/alg-catcubs-jpg.jpg
That cat was the dagger in the Cubbies season. All that was left was playing out the season even though the Cubbies still held the lead. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #162. To: tomder55, redleghunter, SOSO, Liberator, GarySpFc (#161) That cat was the dagger in the Cubbies season. Cubs seem to have a history of that, remember Steve Bartman 2003 NLCS??? Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #163. To: tomder55, GarySpFc, CZ82, liberator. (#156) They predicted in the 'Back to the Future' movies that the Cubbies would win the 2015 World Series. Wow. That would be something. Still waiting for my flying car and hoverboard:) "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #164. To: CZ82 (#160) And the Royals are not afraid to throw their RH starters at Toronto. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #165. To: tomder55 (#161) Awesome Mets history there. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #166. To: tomder55 (#161) (Edited) Considering how superstitious the game of baseball gets, a black cat in the dugout in September is the nail in the coffin:)

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #168. To: tomder55 (#167) Yes sir. Watching it. We love it when the Jays are losing:) Then Meties on next. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #169. To: redleghunter (#168) 1st inning ... the Cubbies 'Murphy curse ' continues . To: tomder55 (#172) LOL Joe Maddon looks ridiculous in that winter pom pom knit cap. With the scruff beard and those VA issue heavy black rimmed glasses, he looks like some Flushing Queens bum who just rolled out of an OTB to catch the game in the upper decks. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #174. To: tomder55 (#172) Looks like Harvey starts the 8th. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #175. To: tomder55 (#172) Impressive win. Guess y'all have some cold weather up north by the look of all the hoodies and gators. Was 85 today here in Texas. Just saying... "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #176. To: redleghunter (#173) LOL Joe Maddon looks ridiculous in that winter pom pom knit cap. you would think a team from Chi-town would be used to it . Yesterday was a typical autumn day . I was outside a good part of the day in a short sleeve shirt digging up my harvest of sweet potatoes. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #177. To: tomder55 (#176) Mets up in the 8th. Murphy again. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #178. To: redleghunter (#177) Mets up in the 8th. Murphy again. Yank fans are calling sports radio and saying that if the Mets don't want to sign Murphy next year that there is an opening on the Yanks. Not sure about that . Murphy looks like he is one of those post-season phenoms that comes out of nowhere and just as quickly disappear. Experts who follow the Mets are saying that there is alot of his game that's deficient.
But the Mets fans are calling in fretting about the team possibly not signing Murphy and Cespedes next year . They should just enjoy the moment and worry about next year in November . Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #179. To: tomder55 (#178) But the Mets fans are calling in fretting about the team possibly not signing Murphy and Cespedes next year . To: tomder55, CZ82, GarySpFc, liberator (#179) 11-8 Toronto win last night. I really thought the Royals were going to come back to win that one. Pitching matchup should be geared for a lower scoring game tonight. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #181. To: redleghunter, CZ82, GarySpFc, liberator (#180) Not sure about that... Dickie is beatable(11-11, 3.91) . Young is a flyball pitcher . The Rogers Centre gives up a lot of home runs. Good thing the Royals BP is well rested . Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #182. To: tomder55, CZ82, liberator, GarySpFc (#181) 5-0 KC in the 2nd. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #183. To: tomder55, CZ82, liberator, GarySpFc (#181) Great job KC way to beat down the Jays. One more and the Canucks are eliminated. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #184. To: redleghunter (#183) Jays going with game one starter Marco Estrada instead of moving Price up on short rest . Could get interesting . The Jays did not hit Volquez hard ;and they had to go deep into their bullpen yesterday . Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? #185. To: redleghunter (#175) Was 85 today here in Texas. Just saying... High here was 49. Would much rather have been down there on Fork, Ray Roberts or Ivie fishing... 4 more years to go before I can at least get a winter place to stay down there, don't think the wife would do full time with the Grandkids and all... To: CZ82, tomder55, liberator (#185) Looks like the matchups are working ehhh... :) Yes I know Banister is watching this closely. If not he should watch and learn from Yost. Unless you have a shut down rotation like the young Mets, you need to go with the match ups. Wonder if the Rogers stadium concessions will still serve beer cans today? "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."---Romans 5:6 #190. To: redleghunter (#189) (Edited) Yes I know Banister is watching this closely. And learn to trust some of the younger players more, some of the veterans stunk in that series... Vegetarians eat vegetables. Beware of humanitarians! #191.
