Carly Fiorina has supplied yet another reason she should not get anywhere near the White House. Forget about her supporting the DREAM Act, although that’s bad enough. She thinks a Muslim should be president. Responding to Ben Carson’s belief that Muslim should not be president, Fiorina explained where Carson erred to Jimmy Fallon: Jimmy Fallon: Ben Carson is in a lot of trouble now because he is saying that he would not advocate a Muslim being president. Carly Fiorina: Well, I think that’s wrong. It says in our Constitution that religion cannot be a test for office. It’s also true that this country was founded on the principle that we judge each individual and that anyone of any faith is welcome here. I actually believe that people of faith make better leaders. Where they are Christians, as I am, my faith has sustained me through some very bad times. I’ve battled cancer, I’ve lost a child, I’ve been tested. But, whether it’s a person of Christian faith, or Jewish faith, or Muslim faith, or other faiths, I think faith gives us humility and empathy and optimism and I think those are important. Fallon: So you would be fine with that? Fiorina: Yes, I would be fine with that. Here, Fiorina not only betrays a stupendous ignorance of Islam and Muslims, but also tells a big fib: i.e., “This country was founded on the principle that we judge each individual and that anyone of any faith is welcome here” Not according to John Jay, one of the Founding Fathers. “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers,” he wrote in a letter. As for who should come into the country, Jay wrote thusly in Federalist No. 2: “Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people — a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs.” The idea that the founders, including Adams and Jefferson, thought anyone could be an American is flatly ridiculous. Keep in mind that in the late 18th-century, the mass migration of two bazillion Muslims or Mexicans was not possible.

She has always had zero prospect of being President. The only people running who have any prospect of being President are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. No Establishment Republican other than JEB Bush can win on the Republican side. Hillary is a shoo-in for the Democrat nomination unless Biden steps in, in which case he will be the nominee. So, if the Republicans take out Trump, it will be Jeb versus Hillary. Hillary wins. If it's Trump versus Hillary, Trump wins. If it's Jeb versus Biden, Biden wins. If it's Trump vs. Biden, well now, THAT is a real horse-race.

I was impressed by how awful Fiorina was in the debate, but she's basically right about no religious test being in the constitution. If GOP dolts will vote for a light the loafers Morman, why not a muslim? McCain is almost one, and look at how many Republicans voted for him! She's right. We also live under the principle that anyone who isn't of any religious faith is also welcome here,and the equal of any other citizen. BTW,there were Muslim citizens living here in the 1700's. Granted,they were "quiet as a mouse Muslims" and not the radical fundies we have today,but they were still Muslims. The FACTS are that a radical outspoken fundie Muslim can NOT be elected to public office in this country and legally sworn in because his faith is contrary to every article of the Bill of Rights. "Dear Dairy" writings don't count. Some of the Founding Fathers were loons,and the crap they proposed was ignored and not codified into law. If the others had agreed with him we would not have separation of church and state codified into law. I guess a stealth Muslim could be elected in non-black districts,but he or she would face some hard questions,and it would hard for them to hide their true beliefs or their personal histories. People from all over the world were coming here long before the Constitution was ratified,and in some areas of the country everybody spoke German,in others they spoke French,in some one of the Scandinavian languages,etc,etc,etc. And that's not even getting into the Welsh,Gaelic and Scots languages spoken in clusters in the "English-speaking" parts. She's not an idiot. What she is doing is playing retail politics and trying to gather enough votes to win. Sounds to me like she is more aware of it than you are,and knows it's not legally possible,so why take heat and lose votes for something that isn't going to happen? She might as well have said "It's ok for Klingons to become president" for all practical purposes. Besides,she's not going to get the nomination either way. IMHO,she's going to get the VP nod if she doesn't screw up badly between now and the primaries. AND......,like it or not,our Constitution DOES say what she said it says. True, they do have the same rights. What I meant by "pro islam" is how I think the average person would take it. I think she just wanted to take a position opposite of Dr Carson, trying to gain publicity. Regardless, I do not think she made a politically smart statement. You may think different. True enough. So, we'll see. I think that Trump will stay in to the primary votes, that he'll start running up victories, and he'll decide that adding "President Trump" to his titles suits him great. You think he's playing us like the circus barker he is. We'll see. I'll be disappointed if Trump drops out, because then I have no candidate to vote for at all.

White House whore house. I have absolutely no faith in the American people. If they had any brains or integrity at all, they would realize most of the so-called presidental candidates would not qualify as dog catcher and would have a bounty placed on their heads for their deliberate insult to the American people.
