The Christian and Jewish bibles may be two of the world's most popular books, but what if they were told through emoticons? That's exactly what two men did with the Bitmoji Bible a handful of stories from both the Jewish and Christian bibles have been recreated with Snapchat's popular Bitmoji emoticons. As you might expect, these are extremely truncated versions of the classic parables. Visit BusinessInsider.com for more stories. For thousands of years, humans all over the world have pored over the Christian and Jewish bibles. The books have been translated repeatedly throughout the millennia, often a measure of accommodating the prevailing language of whatever culture ...

There are more Godless Americans than Christians
Post Date: 2019-04-13 10:21:27 by Willie Green
There are now as many Americans who claim no religion as there are evangelicals and Catholics, a survey finds For the first time "No Religion" has topped a survey of Americans' religious identity, according to a new analysis by a political scientist. The non-religious edged out Catholics and evangelicals in the long-running General Social Survey. Ryan Burge, a political scientist at Eastern Illinois University and a Baptist pastor, found that 23.1% of Americans now claim no religion. Catholics came in at 23.0%, and evangelicals were at 22.5%. The three groups remain within the margin of error of each other though, making it a statistical tie. Over 2,000 people were interviewed ...

The Truth About Hell (If true, is it "fair"? Why won't all souls enter The Kingdom of Heaven?)
Post Date: 2019-03-24 14:43:35 by Liberator
John MacArthur is one of America's most respected Bible scholars and one of the best teachers of Scripture and Biblical doctrine. Unlike most clergy who fear alienating their audience with the subject of Hell and Judgment, regarded as "too negative" and "too judgmental," John MacArthur fully tackles and explains the subject of Hell in great detail, without compromise. If there is Eternal "Hell," does that mean Eternal Heaven doesn't exist either? Why one without the other? Why either? And is either "earned"? Does the "sentence" really fit the crime"? Is Hell temporary and "remedial"? Does "Hell" seem like ...

California Bill Would Force Pastors And Priests To Tell What They Heard In Confession
Post Date: 2019-03-02 22:01:22 by Hondo68
This is an egregious overreach of secular authority, stepping into sacred religious rites, and will not protect children or stem the tide of child abuse. A new bill in California seeks to intrude on one of the most sacred relationshipsthat between clergy and penitent in formal confession. Currently, clergy members are already mandatory reporters of child abuse and neglect, but sins confessed specifically in confession are exempt under current law from mandatory reporting. Bill 360, introduced by Democrat state Sen. Jerry Hill, would delete that exception for a penitential communication, thereby requiring clergy to make a mandated report even if they acquired the knowledge or ...
Evangelicals Unwittingly Pushing America Toward Atheism And Paganism (according to a scripture denying fool)
Post Date: 2019-02-28 16:45:07 by Hondo68
The influence of America’s evangelical churches has been in steep decline ever since the two administrations of professed evangelical Christian President George W. Bush at the beginning of this century. Again and again on my radio talk show and in this column, I tried to warn Christians about the way the Bush presidency was distorting Christ’s teaching and how millions of our countrymen were being turned off to Christianity as a result. For the most part, of course, my appeals fell on deaf ears. But I Pollyannaishly thought we had seen the worst of it with Bush. Boy was I wrong! Donald Trump has taken up where Bush left off—in spades. A Christian Post interview with former Trump White House ...

The Holy Father launched an app called Click to Pray on Sunday thatll allow the worlds 1.3 billion Roman Catholics to join him in prayer. The pontiff has a profile on the Android and iOS app that shows Catholics around the globe what hes currently praying for. Users can then click an icon to indicate that theyve prayed with him. Thousands of faithful watched Sunday as Francis who once said he was a disaster with technology showed the app on a tablet at his weekly address in St. Peters Square. Did I do it? Francis asked an aide after swiping on the tablet. Still, ...

Reading Into Einstein's God Letter

Einstein had what might be called a night-sky theology, a sense of the awesomeness of the universe that even atheists and materialists feel.Photograph by Ernst Haas / GettyAlbert Einsteins so-called God letter first surfaced in 2008, when it fetched four hundred and four thousand dollars in a sale at a British auction house. The letter came back into the news earlier this month, when its owner or owners auctioned it off again, this time at Christies in New York, and someone paid $2.9 million for it, a pretty good return on investment, and apparently a record in the Einstein-letters market. The former top seller was a copy of a letter to Franklin Roosevelt from 1939, warning ...

Why Christians Should Embrace Free Markets, With Guest Fr. Robert Sirico
Post Date: 2018-12-13 16:22:02 by Hondo68
Why are there so many anti-free market attitudes among Christians? What about the role of the state, as it takes for itself more and more the traditional roles of religious charities? Are we doing better with health care, poverty, homeless now with the state in charge than we did with religious charities being involved? Acton Institute founder Fr. Robert Sirico joins today's Liberty Report to discuss why free markets and Christianity are a very good match:

Pope Francis Implementing Change Of Lord’s Prayer: ‘Lead Us Not Into Temptation’
Post Date: 2018-12-11 10:19:45 by IbJensen
(Phony pope, Bergoglio.) The Vatican under Pope Francis will soon be implementing a change to the Lord's Prayer, also known as the Pater Noster, switching out the line "lead us not into temptation" for the Francis-approved "abandon us not into temptation." According to the U.K.'s Express, the change to the Lord's Prayer comes after 16 years of research by experts who found a mistake in the current translation "from a theological, pastoral and stylistic viewpoint." It has been translated into literally hundreds of languages from the original texts in ancient Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. Last year around Christmas, Pope Francis spoke of his desire ...
Every President Recited This Prayer Except Trump
Post Date: 2018-12-06 08:43:38 by Willie Green
Trump didnt recite the Apostles Creed during the funeral for former President George H.W. Bush. People on Twitter are calling out President Donald Trump for failing to recite the Apostles Creed at the funeral for former President George H. W. Bush on Wednesday. Footage from the event shows much of the church, including the former presidents seated with Trump, standing to recite the profession of faith. Trump and first lady Melania Trump stood, but did not recite the prayer, which was written in the program, nor did they sing the hymns. Given Trumps widespread support among evangelical Christians, that led to plenty of criticism on social ...
Fastest growing religion is ‘none’
Post Date: 2018-11-12 09:56:02 by Willie Green
The men and women relaxing on yoga mats recently at a Minneapolis meditation center didnt know it, but most belonged to the fastest-growing religion in America none at all. They included a former Lutheran who left the church because the Bible clashed with science, a former Catholic who became leery of its teachings, a former Baptist uninspired by Sunday services, a young man raised with no religion. They reveal a major force behind the empty pews in churches across Minnesota and the nation. Nearly one in four Americans now declare themselves unaffiliated with any organized religion. An estimated 56 million strong, and growing, there are more of them than all mainline ...

‘God Is Going to Have to Forgive Me’
Post Date: 2018-11-01 18:33:59 by Willie Green
The role of evangelical Christianity in American politics has been a hotly discussed topic this year, intersecting with front-burner issues like immigration, the Supreme Court and social justice. Often the loudest evangelical voices are white, male and
not young. With just days left before the midterm elections two years after President Trump won the White House with a record share of white, evangelical support we asked young evangelicals to tell The Times about the relationship between their faith and their politics. Nearly 1,500 readers replied, from every state but Alaska and Vermont. Hundreds wrote long essays about their families and communities. They go to ...
“Christian Rabbi” Who Appeared With Pence to Pray for Pittsburgh Synagogue Victims Was Defrocked 15 Years Ago
Post Date: 2018-11-01 10:06:36 by Willie Green
The Christian rabbi who was invited onstage by Vice President Mike Pence at a Tuesday rally for a congressional candidate in Michigan to lead a prayer in memory of the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting victims was defrocked 15 years ago, the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations told NBC News. The choice of Loren Jacobs outraged some Jews, who were insulted by the choice of a man belonging to a group that believes Jesus is the son of God for the remembrance of the synagogue victims. Some Jews have said that Jacobs should not be called a rabbi, given that his beliefs align more with Christianity than Judaism. According to NBC, a spokeswoman for the religious group said the Union ...
