To: redleghunter (#0) Please lift up your prayers for little Noah and his family. Done and done. I am a believer in prayer for healing. The kid and his mother sure deserved it.
#3. To: Chuck_Wagon (#2) I am a believer in prayer for healing. Over two decades ago a friend of mine's 4 year old son came down with leukemia. We all prayed - seriously. And the boy beat it! Yeah! Healthy to this day. God Bless you CW. Thanks. Yes answered prayer is sweet indeed. My son was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010 at age 10+. He is emerging into that medical term 'cured' here very soon. Praise the Lord. Tough kid/now young man. For God louede so the world, that he yaf his `oon bigetun sone, that ech man that bileueth in him perische not, but haue euerlastynge lijf. #4. To: redleghunter (#3) He is emerging into that medical term 'cured' here very soon. Excellent!
#5. To: Chuck_Wagon (#4) Thank you. BTW how is your mom doing? For God louede so the world, that he yaf his `oon bigetun sone, that ech man that bileueth in him perische not, but haue euerlastynge lijf. #6. To: redleghunter (#5) ...your mom... Thanks for asking. We're coming up on the first anniversary of Dad's passing. I said: 'So do I Mom.' A female friend of mine was 'shocked' that I said that. I don't know why - because it's the darned truth.
#7. To: Chuck_Wagon (#6) I said: 'So do I Mom.' Coming up on 3 years last week of Sept for my dad too. Sigh...we finally appreciate our fathers when we get older ourselves and had to endure some or most of their trials, hard work, and joys as well. But I understand. That 'sounding board' is no longer there. With our dads they lived so long we kind of expected they would be 'there' forever. I miss the long phone conversations on the Mets and Marlins. He loved to talk about baseball year-round. LOL boy did that trait stick to me huh?:) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.---John 3:16 #8. To: redleghunter (#7) ...lived so long we kind of expected they would be 'there' forever.... 3 1/2 months short of 90. That's almost 'forever' - sorta...
#9. To: Chuck_Wagon (#8) 3 1/2 months short of 90. 86 for my dad. WWII and Korea vet in the Navy to boot. So all those 'stories' are forever etched in my brain:) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.---John 3:16 #10. To: redleghunter (#9) WWII and Korea vet in the Navy to boot. Yup. My dad did WW2 - Marines - South Pacific.
#11. To: redleghunter (#9) 86 for my dad, too. WWII, Third infantry, landed at Anzio.
#12. To: Chuck_Wagon, *Bible Study Ping* (#2) Latest update on Noah. His condition worsens. The family indicates below the doctors gave them "the talk" no parent wants. Praying for a miracle. My wife and I once had that "talk" with doctors about 5 years ago. An overnight miracle occurred and he now eats me out of house and home every day:)
The post I always wished id never have to write By Christina Willis — 1 hour ago Thank you for everyone's constant prayers. We are done fighting. He's in the PICU and comfortable but not yet breathing on his own. They had to intubate him after all the medications they gave to stop his seizures. He was still having them according to the EEG when in the PICU. His spinal fluid isn't being re absorbed and despite draining from the surgery they did its continuing to build up in his brain. He did a radiation treatment yesterday before going downhill. Dr Lula (oncologist) had the dreaded talk with us that they believe his cells are too numerous in his fluid and it's now coating his brain. Leading to seizures and fluid build up. Despite radiating his brain and spine the cancer has spread too much making the chance of cure nearly 0. It would end up causing more suffering and potentially more seizures etc... We are having to say goodbye. I don't know when or what this all looks like yet. I don't know how to do this…" 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.---John 3:16 #13. To: redleghunter (#0) Does the lad have cancer?
#14. To: BobCeleste (#13) On March 13th Noah was diagnosed with a brain tumor found at the cerebellum against his brainstem (Classic Medulloblastoma) Yes. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.---John 3:16 #15. To: redleghunter (#14) Will you please ask the parents to at least consider using Apricot kernels, apricots, and prayer.
#16. To: BobCeleste (#15) Will you please ask the parents to at least consider using Apricot kernels, apricots, and prayer. I believe his condition is beyond this method from what I read on the blog site. Noah needs our prayers most. Thank you so much. God Bless 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.---John 3:16 #17. To: redleghunter (#16) I believe his condition is beyond this method from what I read on the blog site. Worse than I was when I got to the hospital? Prayer is an important part of what I used, I would never think that the b-17 without the prayer would have worked, I left it out because I thought we had talked about it on the phone right after I got out of the hospital.
#18. To: BobCeleste (#17) Worse than I was when I got to the hospital? Comparisons of cancer and medical situations are non starters and lead to strife. Everyone's situation is different and must be handled as such. For example, I would never approach these parents and say "well I had stage IIIA colon cancer and so I understand.." Worst thing in the world to say to parents whose son is fighting for his life. So comparisons don't literally compare. You had pain, you endured like a Christian man and I am proud of you for doing so. But Noah is no man with the strength of a man or a man's mind. So please no comparisons. The way I read the latest journal entry is that the family is preparing for the worst and the child has hours or days left. We should be praying for a miracle. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.---John 3:16 #19. To: BobCeleste, GarySpFc, Liberator, TooConservative, tomder55, CZ82, SOSO, Don, Justified, Vicomte13, *Bible Study Ping* (#1) The latest update from Noah's father:
There are thousands (I suspect 10s of thousands) praying for my family and our Noah's circumstances. We are humbled, deeply grateful and will need much more as we continue to grapple with this here & now as well as longer term. I implore you friends to have eyes to see that this is not by pure happenstance. Many have been led to begin praying more consistently even though they might say it's not their "strong suit", others have been led to fast in conjunction with their prayers or carve out new time in their daily lives for extended periods of intentional prayer and devotion. So many have upped the intensity of their prayer "game" against the backdrop of our perdicament. I believe in my sole that this is not a one time calling. God is stirring a new legion of emboldened prayer warriors ready to call upon the awesome power of the Almighty! Before I go on I need to acknowledge that we've all been praying for healing. It is entirely realistic and within God's infinite scope to reveal Himself through a miracle. I also feel it's entirely realistic that we must prepare our heart for a "see you later". I ask you, is the latter anything less than a full and complete healing beyond anything Noah could be given here and now in the absence of a miracle? God's way are not our ways. God beckons us daily to be better than we were yesterday. Please do not back off seeking after the Lord through prayer and petition for any myriad of purposes. There is much to be this intentional about; such as the final coming of the Lord. 1 Thes. 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you". God can use tragedy that satan intends for evil to jolt us out of our earthly zoned-out state, not unlike what happened to our country 14 years ago today on 9/11. Churches were overflowing for weeks and cries to God went up from every corner. Nobody that I know as they were accepting Jesus' free gift of eternal life turned to asked if He can be sure at some point to hold their life up as an example for your glory. Yet it doesn't take a deep of a dive into scripture to realize that those that proclaim the name of the Lord Most High can have a rough go. And so we walk in obedience. Christina and I are filled with both profound sorrow and eternal joy but rest in God heavenly embrace. We are so grateful for your continued prayers for Noah and our family, please also be praying about how God has touched your heart and called you forward in your spiritual walk. God is good. Sam To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #20. To: redleghunter (#18) Another prayer sent for Noah. And please say a prayer for the family of Kara. Her death has really shaken the whole community. There are doubts that the church will have the capacity for
#21. To: Chuck_Wagon (#20) CW, my deepest sympathies for you, your Mom and Kara's family. You have my prayers. Losing a child so young is tragic. I pray for peace and comfort for Kara's family. God Bless. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #22. To: misterwhite (#11) WWII, Third infantry, landed at Anzio. My dad: Guadalcanal.
#23. To: redleghunter (#21) I pray for peace and comfort for Kara's family. Thank you.
#24. To: redleghunter (#19) I'm sorry, I didn't read it carefully enough, I thought Noah was a kid you knew personally, a child whose family you were close to. I can see know that it would be literally impossible for you to make treatment suggestions to them. Accept my apologies, my prayers are with both the child and his family. Had I not interned inn two major hospitals in Maine, I would have never known the horrors of radiation and chemotherapy and never started studying alternatives.
#25. To: redleghunter (#21) Her parents informed us that 'It was her heart'. A 14 year old freshman varsity soccer player.
#26. To: Chuck_Wagon (#25) Thanks for the update. Sad to lose one so young. How is your mom doing through this? To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #27. To: redleghunter (#26) How is your mom doing... She's fine.
#28. To: redleghunter (#26) Interestingly, I heard earlier today that Kara's parents There is some talk of building some sort of sports facilities, She also had 1/2 page in the Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer today.
#29. To: Chuck_Wagon (#28) What a great community you live in. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #30. To: redleghunter (#29) What a great community you live in. It is. I didn't appreciate it while growing up. Then I saw this place in a somewhat different light.
#31. To: Chuck_Wagon (#30) Seems the plan is for Noah to be able to go home and spend as much time there as his body will give. Prayers up. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #32. To: redleghunter (#31) Prayers up. Whenever I see one of your posts I say one for the boy. Good morning!
#33. To: redleghunter (#31) (Edited) Hey, Red - does Noah have a puppy or kitten? I'll head up the 'Noah Pet Fund' if you think it would Edit: And heck: a kid named 'Noah' surely needs pets, right? LOL!
#34. To: Chuck_Wagon (#32) Good Morning CW! Say a prayer for the parents too (I'm sure you are). To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #35. To: Chuck_Wagon (#33) And heck: a kid named 'Noah' surely needs pets, right? LOL! LOL. Yes according to the Caring Bridge posts he has one or two pet cats waiting for him at home. Noah indicated to his mom during a lucid moment yesterday he wanted to go home, play with the cats , have a real bath in his tub and to play in his sandbox. He knows his time is limited but also has the confidence there are Caring Hands waiting for him too. Total strangers along with church members and community held a prayer vigil for Noah last night near his favored sand box. Of course such outpouring of faith and love will not hit the news. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #36. To: redleghunter (#35) (Edited) Total strangers along with church members and community held a Excellent.
The terrestrial news? No, probably not...
#37. To: Chuck_Wagon (#36) Noah went home as he wanted to and his mom and dad made sure that all happened in the same day:) But he is on 24 hour hospice care. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #38. To: redleghunter (#37) ...he is on 24 hour hospice care. It's good that he is home. Another prayer goes up - for him, his parents, and you.
#39. To: Chuck_Wagon (#38) The last journal entry is heartbreaking. Looks like the little fella has hours left. He will wake up in the caring and loving nail pierced hands of Christ. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 #40. To: Chuck_Wagon (#38) CW latest on little Noah:
Noah has been in a coma since early morning and at only 30% oxygen his brain hasn't been responsive. I believe at this time he has already joined Jesus and the angels in heaven. His body, just a shell, is working hard to just maintain itself with irregular raspy breaths and rapid heartbeat. I know he isn't really with us anymore but I'm taking every last opportunity to kiss him and touch him. You fought a good fight buddy. I'm sure God is giving you so much praise for all the hearts you've touched here. Save a place for us. We'll be there soon. He's in the more than capable Hands of Christ now. Thank you for your prayers. Now the family will need them. On another note, how is your mom doing? Community? To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.---Revelation 1:5b-6 . . . Comments (41 - 45) not displayed. Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest |
