Religion Title: Study: More Americans than ever spurning religion NEW YORK -- The number of Americans who don't affiliate with a particular religion has grown to 56 million in recent years, making the faith group researchers call "nones" the second-largest in total numbers behind evangelicals, according to a Pew Research Center study released Tuesday. Christianity is still the dominant faith by far in the U.S.; 7 in 10 Americans identify with the tradition. However, the ranks of Christians have declined as the segment of people with no religion has grown, the survey says. They are becoming but a school of mindless fish desperately pursuing the latest trend bannered by the media or loud brass band even if it leads directly to the shark's mouth.

#5. To: Gatlin (#0) Why aren't you on any of the excellent religion threads, tater? Never a post by yourself but ... but ... but, here you are reciting what is already known. Can you explain your odd behaviour other than being a troll?

You could have agenda posters posting shit like this after every post you make... "Why aren't you on any of the excellent religion threads, tater? Can you explain your odd behaviour other than being a troll?" buckeroo Every society gets the kind of criminal it deserves. What is equally true is that every community gets the kind of law enforcement it insists on. Robert Kennedy #8. To: tpaine (#1) it is also normal that religious affiliations would decline in our 'information age' Spirituality does not require a "religious affiliation". "I am the way the truth and the life" The proper purview for the self-evidence, or not, of that truth is between the Creator and the Individual - not between some self-serving religious hierarchy and its L.I.F.E.R. cadre.

The evidence shows the USA is in moral decline. Just look around. ---- redleghunter I'd say the moral decline is more a result of our war on drugs and our welfare system, than on religious affiliation.
Spirituality does not require a "religious affiliation. ---- VxH I agree.
Professing themselves to be wise they became fools. --- A K A Stone Better to TRY to become wise by informing yourself, than to affiliate yourself with fools.
