The Water Cooler Title: Poll: Jerry Brown Has Double-Digit Lead Over Meg Whitman Democrat Jerry Brown has opened a double-digit lead over Republican Meg Whitman in the governor's race, according to a new Los Angeles Times/USC poll. Brown was leading Whitman 52 percent to 39 percent among likely voters, expanding his lead particularly among women and Latino voters, according to the poll. Brown, campaigning this morning at several churches in south Los Angeles, said after one stop that he is "cautiously optimistic" about his chances in November. He was campaigning with the Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. Brown struck a populist tone, saying California is a wealthy state but that officials must "spread it out," not "suck it all up to the top." He criticized Whitman for her scant voting record and called on congregants to cast ballots Nov. 2. Whitman was campaigning yesterday in the Los Angeles area. She had no scheduled public events today. Subscribe to *Tea Party On Parade* Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Whitman is toast. The DNC knows this. -----------------------------------------------------------
#4. To: Brian S (#0) We must get this and the ongoing torture at Gitmo and the just disclosed Afghan prison, looked into ASAP. -----------------------------------------------------------
#5. To: Brian S (#0) (Edited) Whitman and Fiorina are globalist open borders liberals, so conservatives are staying home or voting for Chelene Nightingale (AIP) and Ed Noonan (AIP). Only die-hard Republicans (McCain/bushbot libtards) will vote for Fiorina or Whitman. The California GOP has made it crystal clear that they'd rather have Moonbeam than a conservative. The sooner they die the better.

Only die-hard Republicans (McCain/bushbot libtards) will vote for Fiorina or Whitman. Exactly correct. I'd never vote for moonbeam (frustrated enviroNAZI that he is), and whitman is basically ahnuld schwarzenkennedy, with tits. What a choice. I'm voting for the libertarian candidate. Getting tired of the bozoed calcon following me around on the 'net, wanting to discuss "tossing salad." Sorry, you sick rump-ranger. NOT interested. #10. To: Capitalist Eric (#9) I'm voting for the libertarian candidate. How are you able to vote in California? Haven't you claimed you live in Pennsylvania? Or was that a lie also?
#11. To: Brian S (#0) Not buying this for a second. Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit. #12. To: Mad Dog (#2) I despise what the libTURDS have done to that once great state. It ain't the liberals. Right wing radicals have done to the state of California what they did to the country during the Bush administration. Merchants have no country. To: lucysmom (#12) Right wing radicals have done to the state of California what they did to the country during the Bush administration. Got a link to support this bullshit statement, goofy? Nope. Obama's first all-by-his-lonesome budget, btw, calls for a $1.17 trillion deficit. #14. To: lucysmom (#12) I despise what the libTURDS have done to that once great state. It ain't the liberals. Check yourself before you wreck yourself you ignorant miserable lying libTURD whore. I lived in California from the early sixties until the mid seventies. I have family whose bones rest there you despicable slack jawed libTURD tool. ALL of what has happened to California has happened because of the LEFT'S drooling insanity. I SAW it, I LIVED it. You are without any doubt one of the most ignorant disgusting libTURD tools ever born. Poor lucy. Living in mouth breather's empty noggins 24/7/365 totally rent free! #15. To: lucysmom (#12) (Edited) Right wing radicals have done to the state of California what they did to the country during the Bush administration. Now I know you are smoking crack. Democrats have controlled one or both houses of the California state legislature forever. The last notable California governor who could even been considered mildly "right wing" was Ronald Reagan who left office 35 years ago. No one takes you seriously because you are either stoned, delusional, or a complete liar. To: lucysmom, jwpegler (#12) (Edited) Right wing radicals have done to the state of California what they did to the country during the Bush administration. I assume she is referring to Prop. 13? If so, she's correct, the net effect of the law was to completely screw up California's housing market among other things.
#17. To: jwpegler (#15) Democrats have controlled one or both houses of the California state legislature forever. Yeah, right - that's why liberals have no trouble promoting their agenda in the State budget year after year. Get real! Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #18. To: go65 (#16) I assume she is referring to Prop. 13? If so, she's correct, the net effect of the law was to completely screw up California's housing market among other things. Its prop 13, its term limits that has had the unintended consequence of handing inordinate power to lobbyists, its Reagan's war against education (Reagan & J. Edgar Hoover vs the University of California - pretty interesting history), its our initiative process that allows anyone who can get enough signatures including special interests to get their issue on the ballot - California is the only oil producing state that does not collect a severance tax on oil extracted from our state. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #19. To: lucysmom (#18) California is the only oil producing state that does not collect a severance tax on oil extracted from our state LOL! Yeah, that's what we need more taxes, NOT. Might as well kill off the few remaining industries, so CA can be declared a total wreak, and we can get on with rebuilding from the rubble.
#20. To: lucysmom (#12) Right wing radicals have done to the state of California what they did to the country during the Bush administration. Please tell us when the Republicans held the majority in the California State legislature. -----------------------------------------------------------
#21. To: lucysmom (#18) The problem with California is that your assinine faggot courts struck down prop whatever that was supposed to cut off funds to illegals. Now you are overrun with scummy Mexicans who think it is their beloved toilet of a country Mexico. Get rid of the illegals and your state will be fine. But you can't do that because your state is PC state and you don't want to hurt the poor little illegals feelings. Well until you say screw them and deport their asses your state will decline. And the rest of the nation will follow.
#22. To: A K A Stone (#21) Proposition 187 also known as the Save Our State (SOS). That’s one reason. The other is unfunded State employee pensions. Brown signed the ability for State workers to bargain collectively through The Dill act. He legalized collective bargaining for the public-employee unions. My kids have yet to even have their first jobs, yet they each owe $10,000 to unions that make sure Brown gets reelected. Like the Mayor and managers of Bell city , Brown and the DNC raped the state for personal gain. -----------------------------------------------------------
#23. To: hondo68 (#19) LOL! Yeah, that's what we need more taxes, NOT. If it weren't for the taxes collected from the oil industry, nice conservative states like Alaska would be in deep dodo. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #24. To: WhiteSands (#20) Please tell us when the Republicans held the majority in the California State legislature. With the two thirds majority rule and the initiative process, California Republicans don't need a majority in the state legislature. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #25. To: lucysmom (#24) With the two thirds majority rule and the initiative process, California Republicans don't need a majority in the state legislature. Prop 187 SOS was an initiate to save money. -----------------------------------------------------------
#26. To: A K A Stone (#21) The problem with California is that your assinine faggot courts struck down prop whatever... It was prop 187, it was struck down in a federal court, and sexual orientation had nothing to do with it - otherwise the above is accurate. But you can't do that because your state is PC state and you don't want to hurt the poor little illegals feelings.
Well that, and the court found the law to be unconstitutional on the basis that it infringed the federal government's exclusive jurisdiction over matters relating to immigration, similar to the Supreme Court ruling in Plyler v. Doe.
Well until you say screw them and deport their asses your state will decline.
Yeah, who cares about that pesky Constitution anyway. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #27. To: WhiteSands (#22) The other is unfunded State employee pensions. Have you heard of CalPERS? Do you know what it is or how it functions? Free Market baby! Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #28. To: lucysmom (#26) (Edited) Yeah, who cares about that pesky Constitution anyway. Dem Gray Davis halted its appeals. Who cares about the desires of the people to see if a laws Constitutional and save their state? -----------------------------------------------------------
#29. To: WhiteSands (#25) Prop 187 SOS was an initiate to save money. Yep. Too bad a federal court ruled it was unconstitutional. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #30. To: lucysmom (#27) Have you heard of CalPERS? Do you know what it is or how it functions? Yes I have heard of them. Have you? You feel it's private enterprise. Telling. -----------------------------------------------------------
#31. To: WhiteSands (#28) Who cares about the desires of the people to see if a laws Constitutional and save tier state? A federal court ruled prop 187 unconstitutional. As for the desires of the people - the founding fathers gave us a republican form of government to protect from the whims of the masses and to protect the rights of minorities. America, love it or leave it. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #32. To: lucysmom (#29) Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson Are you an anarchist? -----------------------------------------------------------
#33. To: WhiteSands (#30) You feel it's private enterprise. It is state employee plus the state as employer contributions invested in the market. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #34. To: lucysmom (#31) As for the desires of the people - the founding fathers gave us a republican form of government to protect from the whims of the masses and to protect the rights of minorities. Hence the current changes next week. So you have shown you are OK with what the DNC has done to the state of California. Baby! -----------------------------------------------------------
#35. To: lucysmom (#33) It is state employee plus the state as employer contributions invested in the market. Calpers is a government organization.Using pension monies to invest in the markets. Back to : you have no issue with how the DNC runs California- Baby Doll! -----------------------------------------------------------
#36. To: WhiteSands (#32) Are you an anarchist? No, I am a patriot, and an admirer of Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #37. To: lucysmom (#33) Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson How does your tag line match your desire to see pension monies taken for investment with global merchants? -----------------------------------------------------------
#38. To: WhiteSands (#35) Calpers is a government organization.Using pension monies to invest in the markets. Perhaps you'd have preferred the retirement money was invested with Bernie Madoff? Back to : you have no issue with how the DNC runs California- Baby Doll!
When they do. I'll let you know. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson #39. To: hondo68, lucysmom (#19) LOL! Yeah, that's what we need more taxes, NOT. Palin imposed windfall profits tax on Alaska's oil companies, so therefore such taxes are conservative.
#40. To: lucysmom (#36) Re your: The Federal Judges Ruled Prop 187 Unconsitutional: Federal Judiciary "The germ of dissolution of our federal government is in...the federal judiciary; an irresponsible body, (for impeachment is scarcely a scare-crow,) working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little to-day and a little to-morrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped from the States." Thomas Jefferson, 1821 -----------------------------------------------------------
#41. To: WhiteSands (#37) How does your tag line match your desire to see pension monies taken for investment with global merchants? I thought we were discussing what is, not my desires. Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains. Thomas Jefferson . . . Comments (42 - 71) not displayed.
