BIDEN AGENDA DEAD, DEAD, DEAD. What remains of President Joe Biden's agenda died quietly on Sunday, barely noticed by a media consumed with Ukraine, Joe Rogan, and why Stacey Abrams didn't wear a mask in a Twitter photo.
The precise moment of death came at 9:13 a.m. EST, when Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin appeared on CNN's State of the Union program. Host Jake Tapper asked about Build Back Better, the massive spending program often referred to as the "centerpiece" of the Biden agenda, which stalled in the Senate late last year after Manchin refused to sign on. (Fellow Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema also had reservations.)
"Build Back Better is it dead?" asked Tapper. "Is there any opportunity for it to come back with your support?"........

Manchin is a Democrat. He's always been a Democrat. Hell, his family were Democrats in government going back to the 19th Century.
If he wanted to fuck the Democrats, he'd just change to being a Republican and then the GOP would control the Senate. But he doesn't, because he's NOT a Republican, and wouldn't be happy as one.
He's not even particularly conservative. He just sees - rightly - that rushing everything through without even a conversation with the other side is CRAZY.
There's a REASON we have mark-ups, conversations in Congress, that the minority get their say. It helps make things palatable, acceptable. The other side gets SOMETHING, and that keeps the parties capable of working together.
Manchin gets that. So do other members of Congress who are not strong enough to stand up.
The Progressives want a revolution, without actually winning one. They cannot have it.
Yes, we DO need to provide more to the various struggling poor. No, we won't provide this much, and not this way.
Manchin is right, and the Democrats should listen to him.
