A white Fort Worth police officer fatally shot a black woman in her home early Saturday, firing through a bedroom window while responding to a call about an open door at the residence, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the house in the city’s Hillside Morningside neighborhood at 2:25 a.m. after receiving an “open structure” call, according to a statement from the Fort Worth Police Department. A neighbor told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he dialed a non-emergency line and requested a welfare check when he noticed that the door was ajar and the lights were on.
While searching the outside of the house, police said, an officer saw someone standing near a window. “Perceiving a threat the officer drew his duty weapon and fired one shot striking the person inside the residence,” police said. AD
Atatiana Jefferson, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police, who said the officers provided emergency medical care.

One officer approaches a closed first-floor window and shines a flashlight inside, then swiftly raises his gun. “Put your hands up! Show me your hands!” he yells. A split-second later, he fires a shot through the window. He does not identify himself as an officer in the footage.
Along with the video, police released images of a firearm officers said they found at the scene, but did not indicate whether Jefferson was holding the weapon or positioned near it when the officer opened fire. Officials did not release the officer’s name, describing him only as a white male who has been with the department since April 2018. He will be placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, according to the department.
Does not sound like a good shoot.

Well,there can be no question that is sells advertising,and media lives from advertising dollars.
I am personally so tired of all this racial crap that I could puke. I can honestly say that of all the thousands of white people I have met in my life,probably less than a dozen were genuine racists whose entire focus was on causing harm to people with a different skin color merely BECAUSE it was a different color,and some of that dozen were blacks hating whites.
I had a black friend with the last name of Williams in the army from Philly that was a SF E-7,and one of his proudest possessions was a KKK membership card. And this guy wasn't any kind of blend,either. I am talking black as coal. He used to love to whip it out and shock people by proving he as a KKK member,and would then say "This just goes to show you how discriminating they really are!"
Last time I saw him,he,I,and "Squirrel" Sprouse got together at Ohare in Chicago. Squirrel and I flew in on the same flight from DC,and his flight from Philly landed later. We were just standing around in the lobby in our dress greens and berets as regulations required when traveling back then,and we may have had a drink or two while waiting for the jet that would take us to Seattle,and then Viet Nam.
A elderly white woman probably in her late 70's came up and politely asked "Are you Green Berets"? Williams answered her by saying "No mam. I'm a nigger. THIS (pointing at his beret) is a Green Beret". I thought I was going to stroke out from laughing.
I never saw him again after that. Squirrel and I ended up running recon out of the same camp at Kontum,and were even teammates on a special "POW Snatch" team once,but I never heard any more of Williams.
Squirrel not only was a team member on the first SOG recon team to go into North Vietnam to try to rescue a shot down Navy pilot,but pulled at least 4 tours with SOG,and over 70 missions. Two of my friends got killed in action running missions with him at different times,and he managed to bring their bodies out with him both times.
He lived to retire to his wife and multiple children and live a normal life in northern VA as a construction worker,and ended up dying after falling off a roof. After all the stuff he pulled,including sleeping at night in a cave in Laos with the NVA when it was cold and raining,he dies falling off a freaking roof!

I had to laugh about your friend Williams, reminded me of that skit Dave Chappelle had about a Black White Supremacist, LOL Sounds like he was a great guy !
