Ted Haggard sounds quite visionary in his recent Twitter comments. He predicts the end of the Religious Right and the start of what he calls the Love Reformation. Hes also working on a book proposal about the love reformation he sees Haggard
coming.
Another theme of Haggards tweets is his questioning what he sees as judgment in churches.
I thank God he forgives me, saves me, redeems me, fills me, and loves me, he says. I thank God he doesnt do it the way most churches do.
THE GREAT DECEPTION: On the outside of our building, we say we are a hospital, but when people get inside, they see its a courthouse.
In this tweet, he wonders if the secular world has something to teach churches about judging others. Could it be that those who dont attend our churches are more insightful than those who do? Maybe they should reach us?
Haggard also waxes prophetic in his tweets:
I believe we are at the end of what church historians will, in the future, call the Billy Graham era.
I believe we are also nearing the end of the Religious Right representing Evangelicalism.
My prayer is that over the next 10 years, there will be a Love Reformation and the Gospel will retake the Bible-believing church.
