Fiat money systems are tools used by centralized power structures as a means of economic and political control. Today an ounce of fine gold will buy about the same amount of goods that it would buy a hundred years ago, even though the dollar "value" of that ounce of fine gold has gone several orders of magnitude up through the roof. No reason to tell the enemy what our plan is. I too see Iran as a potential threat and I would hate to see them with nukes. Here is the way I think it might be. Rand saw his dads campaign and probably agrees with most everything. He observed and noted that a lot of Republicans were hostile to him for just a few war related issues. He has taken a different position on those few issues and lots of those people have noticed that and support him. Take badeye for example. I think he doesn't care much for Ron Paul but he is giving kind words to Rand. Seems if I am right his plan might be bearing fruit.
So Rand is no different than his Dad? Rand is just being a sneakier politician? Based on his words, I like Rand. But if all he is doing is what other statist politicians are doing, then we gain nothing with him.

We agree on most issues but not all. We still have the basic same philisophy. I think the same is true for the Pauls. I think that he is being smart by not locking himself into a position on an issue like that. I think tend to believe he is pretty honest. Especially since he had the balls to say what he said on the civil rights act. That act was before my time. I had never studied it specifically. Never thought of the arguments that he brought up. It is true that as a free man you should be able to choose who you sell to hire or whatever. I would hope that if we were allowed to be free men and women that we would all treat each other like we would want to be treated.
