U.S. Constitution Title: If tomorrow you could trade out Obama for Palin, would you? This hypothetical leaves for one or the other, no equivocating. Yes. The Kenyan is a Marxist and Palin, although slow on the uptake, is far less dangerous to America. Step up oh gutsy ones. Answer the question and show us your wisdom with a pithy comment. A non answer will render the poster to be an O'tard and a defender of Barry Soetoro's Big Government, Black nationalist agenda. It may have been a silent movie, but it broke my heart watching him wondering what his chlldren would have been like growing up. Sounds like a basic propaganda film; I wonder if the director when on to "Reefer Madness." If the dude were so heartbroken, he could have adopted; remember there were orphanages in that era and since women didn't have birth control, kids were available. If you look into that time, many of the women having abortions then were poor and couldn't support any more children or carrying/having more children would deteriorate the women's health and shorten their lifespan. It was common for many poor women to get pregnant once a year--again, this is before effective birth control became available). They were so desperate that they visited back alley abortionists. I can't even imagine that level of desperation. Like many, I'm "uncomfortable" with abortion, but I remain an ardent supporter of birth control from Plan B onward. And I've never wistfully thought about how much fun it might be to get pregnant every year and to live in abject poverty.
#306. To: lucysmom (#301) Only in your fevered imagination. A Tull trick question: "Would you switch Obama for Hitler"? Gotcha :P Like I said at the beginning of this thread, it's a stupid question.
#307. To: Suzanne (#305) I think they should execute abortionists. Women seeking to murder their children too of course. It is just common sense. You kill you will be killed.
#308. To: lucysmom (#301) Here's a toast to helping Obama fundamentally change America!
#309. To: Skip Intro (#306) "Would you switch Obama for Hitler"? Hmm. Interesting. I bet some would choose Obama.
#310. To: Skip Intro (#304) And WTH does Israel have to do with anything? Believe me, it is the center of worship for Christian Zionists. I have plenty of them in my family. Making the world safe for United Fruit. #311. To: mininggold (#310) God didn't make Israel to have it run by people who worship the pedophile Mohammad.
#312. To: Skip Intro (#306) A Tull trick question: "Would you switch Obama for Hitler"? dis·sem·ble (d-smbl) v. dis·sem·bled, dis·sem·bling, dis·sem·bles v.tr. 1. To disguise or conceal behind a false appearance. See Synonyms at disguise. 2. To make a false show of; feign. v.intr. To disguise or conceal one's real nature, motives, or feelings behind a false appearance.
#313. To: Suzanne (#305) You and I have different views on WHY helpless babies should, or should not be murdered, lets just leave it at that!
#314. To: A K A Stone (#307) It is just common sense. Why can't you take a more positive approach and open your home to some pregnant single women? You could support them financially and see that they get good health care. You could even adopt them or their babies... But, no, you just entertain the thought of killing because it's "common sense." Well, it maybe "common," but it certainly isn't "sense."
#315. To: Jethro Tull (#312) (Edited) .intr. Thank you for the clues to the reason for your existence here. How many IDs have you hid behind now? Making the world safe for United Fruit. #316. To: A K A Stone (#300) No lucy. Murder is murder and you don't get to define it acceptable because you happened to murder someone who couldn't talk yet. Most of us get that ending a life of a living breathing human being is murder, even so there are exceptions. We accept killing in war, even when innocent lives are violently ended. We accept state executions, even when mistakes are made and a person is killed for some crime he did not commit. So we do define certain instances of murder as "acceptable". There is not, however, such widespread agreement on when life begins. Some believe that life begins sometime after the first trimester (position of the church early on), others, when the first breath is taken. Jewish tradition holds that if a pregnancy endangers the life of the mother, then the fetus is pursuing the life of the mother, is the murderer, and abortion is then a duty. I am not smart enough to KNOW the answer. I do believe that if you believe abortion is wrong then you had better not have one.
#317. To: mininggold (#315) That you for the clues to the reason for your existence here. Rough night?
#318. To: Skip Intro (#306) Like I said at the beginning of this thread, it's a stupid question. I love it when certain people insist their stupid questions deserve answers.
#319. To: A K A Stone (#290) His passports are secret. So are mine, but no one cares.
#320. To: A K A Stone, Suzanne (#307) I think they should execute abortionists. Women seeking to murder their children too of course. It is just common sense. You kill you will be killed. So, if a woman has five children already living in the world, you would execute her for aborting the sixth, leaving the five motherless?
#321. To: lucysmom (#319) but no one cares. Not true...some scammers would love to see your passport since it shows your Social Security number. (LOL) BTW, I found this article at http://www.slate.com/id/2187302 By Juliet Lapidos, Posted Monday, March 24, 2008, at 6:26 PM ET The State Department revealed last week that the passport files of all three major presidential candidates have been accessed improperly. Obama's records were breached on three occasions, including Friday, March 14, while the other two candidates' files were each compromised at least once. What's in a passport file? All the information requested in a passport application (PDF). Specifically, the applicant's name, sex, marital status, mailing address at the time of application, occupation, and Social Security number.
#322. To: Jethro Tull (#312) Oh bullshit, Tull. You set up an idiot "Hypothetical" then attack everyone who doesn't answer it "correctly". How about adding some other choices? Afraid you might not get the answer you want?
#323. To: Suzanne (#321) Not true...some scammers would love to see your passport since it shows your Social Security number. Of course that's true, but no one is ranting and raving that my passport files are secret. No one is speculating about what I'm hiding because I won't make my files public. Frankly, I'm feeling slighted!
#324. To: lucysmom (#323) Frankly, I'm feeling slighted! Well, I've had a few unexpected expenses, so, if it will help you to feel less slighted, I'm willing to use the personal information that's on your passport for a little identity theft! Meanwhile, I find it amusing that so many people on this site who prize privacy want Obama to have none, even on sensitive documents like a passport. Can you image the stink they would raise if their passports were open for the world to see?
#325. To: Suzanne (#321) Not true...some scammers would love to see your passport since it shows your Social Security number. (LOL) Since new passports also have RFID tags, you've got to be really careful with them. Use a photocopy if possible, and if you have to carry the original wrap it in foil so scammers can't pick up the info from the RFID tag.
#326. To: Skip Intro (#325) (Edited) Since new passports also have RFID tags, you've got to be really careful with them. Use a photocopy if possible, and if you have to carry the original wrap it in foil so scammers can't pick up the info from the RFID tag. My new bull has one or actually two. One in his eartag and one embedded under the skin of his neck. I'm sure Tull would approve as I've haven't heard his fairy princess come out against them yet. Making the world safe for United Fruit. #327. To: Suzanne (#324) Meanwhile, I find it amusing that so many people on this site who prize privacy want Obama to have none, even on sensitive documents like a passport. Can you image the stink they would raise if their passports were open for the world to see? Just another of those paradoxes.
#328. To: Suzanne (#324) Meanwhile, I find it amusing that so many people on this site who prize privacy want Obama to have none, even on sensitive documents like a passport. Can you image the stink they would raise if their passports were open for the world to see? Most would not have the vaguest idea about the real implications because at the base of the GOP managed TeaTic movement lies your typical old fashioned nanny stater. Making the world safe for United Fruit. #329. To: mininggold (#328) Ah, another conspiracy! (laughing) Tell the forum, if you would, how is it the Tea Party movement is supporting Democrats in the primaries, as well as Republicans...given you indicate the TP is being managed by the GOP. Enlighten us all. I can see November from my House. #330. To: Badeye (#329) Ah, another conspiracy! (laughing) Dickus Armius and Sarah Palinus. Do you really believe that Tull pap about leaderless resistance? Making the world safe for United Fruit. #331. To: Badeye (#329) ...how is it the Tea Party movement is supporting Democrats in the primaries, as well as Republicans...given you indicate the TP is being managed by the GOP. Cause the GOP candidate is really, really bad?
#332. To: lucysmom (#320) So, if a woman has five children already living in the world, you would execute her for aborting the sixth, leaving the five motherless? No I wouldn't execute her. The state should. Andrea Yates comes to mind. Is she still breating and eating?
#333. To: A K A Stone, lucysmom (#332) Andrea Yates comes to mind. A great example of a woman who should have been on birth control (as well as other medication) after the first child or two. Do you ever wonder what might have happened if they stopped breeding at the point where they saw the first signs of a mental illness following the pregnancy? But, no, they let God decide how many children they should have--and now there are none.
#334. To: Suzanne (#333) A great example of a woman who should have been on birth control First, birth control breaks the joyful connection between sex and the possibility of new life. Second, the most effective methods of birth control don't necessarily prevent the fertilization of the egg and thus are potential aborficants.
#335. To: lucysmom (#334) Sounds just like what someone with the first letter of "V" would write over at LP.
#336. To: Skip Intro (#322) CIRCUMVENT
1. to go around or bypass: to circumvent the lake; to circumvent the real issues. 2. to avoid (defeat, failure, unpleasantness, etc.) by artfulness or deception; avoid by anticipating or outwitting: He circumvented capture by anticipating their movements. 3.
to surround or encompass, as by stratagem; entrap: to circumvent a body of enemy troops.
#337. To: Suzanne (#333) What a statist rant.
#338. To: lucysmom, A K A Stone (#282) So who do you think would do a better job. Palin or Obama and why? The question is who...AND WHY? In your case you've stated 0bama, so save us the simplistic characterization of Palin as a "sell out" and "whiner." Now WHY is 0bama doing a better job?
#339. To: Suzanne (#333) Do you ever wonder what might have happened if they stopped breeding at the point where they saw the first signs of a mental illness following the pregnancy? ... "Breeding"? You know - I'm tempted to ask the same question of you...but I won't.
#340. To: mininggold (#328) (Edited) the GOP managed TeaTic movement Ha-hah-hah. Whatsamattah? The Tea Party wouldn't let you wear your 2-litre jug around your neck like a St. Bernard?
#341. To: Skip Intro (#322) You set up an idiot "Hypothetical" then attack everyone who doesn't answer it "correctly". How about keeping the choices within the realm of possibility? Or should we just include "hypotheticals" like 0bama vs. Elmer J. Fudd?
#342. To: mininggold (#330) Tell the forum about this latest conspriacy, I'm sure it will be entertaining. Come on, don't be bashful. I can see November from my House. #343. To: lucysmom (#331) Get back to me when you have something to add to the coversation, such as it is. I can see November from my House. #344. To: Liberator (#341) Skippy doesn't handle reality very well. I can see November from my House. . . . Comments (345 - 462) not displayed. Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest |
