Bible Study Title: GARY ASPCA Flunks Basic Math #86. To: Hank Rearden (#84) Hell, I can make this fable crap up faster than the Biblethumpers can rationalize it. Really? The Bible describes the ark as being 515 feet long. I would like to know how your fable will explain a 515 foot petrified wooden ark on that mountain in Turkey? Look at the videos I posted above, and let me know. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Why do you always feel necessary to make such an ass out of yourself? There were many lengths called a "cubit" throughout history. What you referred to was the "6 digit" or Roman cubit. What Gary is obviously using is the Egyptian cubit in the calculation which was 7 digits or about 21 inches. Given the time in history, the Egyptian cubit certainly seems more appropriate.
#2. To: war (#0) Heh... Gary ought to know. He was either:... there or... knew someone who was. It's the war, stupid. #3. To: mininggold (#2) However big the ark was, it had to hold around 4260 pairs of mammals and 6800 pairs of reptiles. Of course that leaves out the birds and insects, why be picky. So, could an ark 515 feet long do that? It also had to hold all of their food and deal with all of their waste for 40 days. It sounds doubtful to me, but unlike Gary I wasn't there to see it. And you have to figure that 85 to 90% of the food and water that goes in has to come out. I hate to think about it and with so few people to do the cleaning too. And I can guarantee that more than one insect species went along for the ride. lol It's the war, stupid. #5. I forgot about the water, although I guess old Noah could just have hung buckets over the side whenever he needed some. But the stench and cleanup would have been a living hell. Why is it that God always treats his chosen ones like absolute crap? Tamer than our 2000 election cycle. - Political Expert Badeye on Iraq election that has left over 50 dead so far #6. To: Skip Intro (#5) Why is it that God always treats his chosen ones like absolute crap? I dont know and it appears to be one of those closed loop thingys too. They choose their god and he chooses them as his people. And no one outside the tribe is allowed to comment on the obvious conflict of interest. It's the war, stupid.
