TeaParty365 sent out a bulletin to their members yesterday urging them to show up at the rally which is being held tomorrow April 25th during the afternoon in front of the Israeli Consulate on Manhattan's East side. TeaParty365 is joining the protest "in support of America's longstanding and close ties with Israel."
The 'Break the Silence and Stand with Israel' rally is being sponsored by the Jewish Action Alliance. The group says they've organized the event to support Israel's right to build and live in its own country as well as uniting Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty. They are also protesting the Obama Administrations' disregard of the democratic Jewish state.
Alliance founder Beth Galinskytold the Israeli News AgencyWe are outraged that President Obama is scape goating Israel and wants to expel Jews from their homes in their capital of Jerusalem. President Obama and Secretary Hillary Clinton show more anger about a Jewish family building a home in Jerusalem than Iran building a nuclear bomb.
Meanwhile, former New York City Mayor Ed Koch released a personal video message on behalf of the Alliance, slamming President Obama and his treatment of Israel and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. (see video below) It's not the first time Koch, a Jewish Democrat, has denounced the Obama White House and their actions toward Israel. In a recent interview on Fox News, Koch told Neil Cavuto he believes "the Obama administration is willing to throw Israel under the bus in order to please Muslim nations."
Over 20 organizations, Jewish and other, have signed on to support the event including the Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors, Artists for Israel, and the Human Rights Coalition against Radical Islam. Many local Rabbi's and Christian leaders also plan to be in attendance. The protest will be MCd by WOR Radio talk show host Steve Malzberg and Human Events columnist Rabbi Aryeh Spero.
The "Stand up for Israel" rally is Sunday April 25th, in front of the Israeli Consulate located on East 42nd street and 2nd Avenue, at 1pm. The rally will take place rain or shine.
