Jesus' Take on Illegal Immigrants I got an email from Jeff Ruble, who comments here at MMI alot, on the subject of illegal immigrants. I thought it was interesting, and I pass it on here for some discussion. Jeff writes: The headlines are filed with the news on what to do about the illegal immigrants here in America. It had me pretty upset there for a while and I must confess that I was not the best Christian in world about it at the time due to the fact that 1) they are here illegally 2) they don't want to speak English 3) they want to fly the Mexican Flag and not the American Flag 4) they are getting free medical and other benefits 5) they want to boycott against America 6) Business hired them for cheap labor which to me is nothing more than a type of slavery in America again, 7) Our government leaders do not know or seem to be intimidated in making a decision on what to do. Now that I have Jeff Ruble out of them and have allowed God to humble me on this very controversial issue, this is the way I see it. Don't you believe that God has opened a gigantic door for the church here. To go to these illegal immigrants and to witness to them. I do not condone of what they are doing is right because we are to obey the laws of the land as well as the Commandments that Christ gave us. I believe the church could make a very great impact on these people, the American People, as well as people around the world if we got involved. 1)What are your ideas on this issue? 2) Is this a good time for the church to get involved or to stay silent and not get involved? 3) What do you think Jesus would do?
