It was a riot. I was in the 'finals' but lost 3 - 1. The pictures tell the tale. Hardly anyone isn't holding a beer, both players and spectators. Someday this company will learn about liability but until then we'll continue to have alcohol-fueled fun!

His whole laughable insistence I didn't was based on a SINGLE TYPO related to aircraft designations of the P-3 sub hunter LAND BASED aircraft, and the S-3 Carrier Based aircraft. Oh, and I think I once posted 'CV 64' instead of 'CV 62'.
Some in this forum have seen my facebook page complete with photos of me aboard the USS Independence in 81 in the Indian Ocean. And a few photo's from various ports of call in Australia (Perth) and elsewhere. They've also seen my 'Classmates' page, with links to pages dedicated to COMSUBLANT, CINCLANTFLT, and NTCC in Norfolk. I'd LOVE to hear how I 'faked' friendships from 77 - 81 at Classmates (now mylife.com I think) not to mention the PUBLIC BOARDS making the CONVERSATIONS between myself and my old shipmates part of the PUBLIC RECORD. (roaring with laughter).
I've never once misrepresented my service to this nation. I've never once claimed I was 'in combat' far from it, I've noted a thousand times I was a RM2 (radioman) in the rear with the gear, with the exception of my brief deployment in 1981 to the Indy, already on station in the IO.
The comment I made about seeing 'violence' is based solely upon my professional career after leaving the service. Hence no mention in my post about 'combat' as it relates to military service.

Rumford Maine, Boise Cascade Paper Mill Strike, cira mid 1980's.
Two coal strikes, Kentucky and West Virginia, same era.
Too many Teamster strikes to count, but none of those were violent, by that point they had learned a sit down strike was more effective.
White Consolidate Industry paper mill strikes in Michigan, Ohio. The Michigan strike was against the plant located in the Upper Pennensula, not too far from White Fish Bay. The Ohio strike was located in Coshocton, ABC World News Tonight With Peter Jennings opened the Labor Day evening news with 'On Labor Day, violence breaks out at an Ohio Paper Mill Strike' with Jenning doing the voice over of video shot showing the massive clouds of teargas, and hundreds of striking employees getting the beat down they so richly deserved after several months of attacks on various homes, the plant itself, and then the Ohio county sheriffs response teams and dogs.
The Rumford Strike was the largest, no surprise seeing it was the 2nd largest papermill in the world at the time, complete with its own hydro electic power plant, which incidentally was the primary power source for the two towns on either side of the river that ran directly through the middle of the plant. 600 uniformed security personel, almost exclusively made up of Veterans, btw. Another 300 of us were assigne Executive Protection in over 100 homes to protect managers, and employees that refused to go on strike. Too many instances of 'shots fired' at the plant, and the security there. Too many 'shots fired' at the homes being protected. This is all documented in the news accounts from that strike. But it wasn't the most violent I was involved in.
The most violent was in Coshocton. And you can look that one up easily. Google or Bing.
All told I worked almost two dozen high risk labor disputes, from Teamsters to Greyhound Bus Drivers, from coal mine strikes to the aforementioned paper mill strikes. Circuit City strikes in Philadelphia, directly followed by a grocery store strike in that same city, but that was relatively small and to be honest easy money. Two Hudepohl beer distributor strikes in Cincinnati in the 80's as well. Most of the smaller ones were over within six weeks. Unlike the others I've detailed which were mostly lock down strikes that lasted for months on end.
Any one of you now have enough data to look it up if you wish.
