International News Title: Men to be scorched as never before Plague 4 (Revelation 16:8-9) Men to be Scorched as Never Before 2024 was the hottest year in recorded history, and probably the hottest year since the dinosaurs roamed the Earth, scientists say. As when the dinosaurs appeared, the Earths seas are warming too. The ice caps are fast melting and sea-level is rising due to warmer seas. Within a few years, the Earths poles will likely start greening and support diverse fauna and flora as in the dinosaur era. Thousand-year heat waves and storms are now common- place, and tornados are now happening even in the winter time and in the deep south. This Christmas, 11 tornadoes touched down in south Texas. Previously unheard of, one was on the ground for 12 miles, and a lady in Alvin died. Making things worse, increases in droughts and forest fires are taking away the Earths trees, a natural (God-given) carbon-sink that lessens the effect of man- made greenhouse gasses. In 2024, there were twice as many wildfires than 2023, the previous record. 2025 is expected to be even hotter now that Donald Trump is the President-elect. Trump has already said he will withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement (again) and then drill, baby drill and frack, frack, frack. It is feared that under Trump, the $7500 tax-credit for purchasing an EV will disappear, and the EPA will be gutted, all in the name of free trade and fewer regulations. Truth is, we need some regulations if we are to save the Earth (as we know it). By the end of Trumps term, Mar-a-Lago and much of south Florida will start to go under water from the sea level rise. Within a decade, Trump Tower and his other water-front properties if seawalls are not built will likewise go under, leaving little for his children to inherit. We should all pray for our president, and pray for the more level-headed members of his cabinet and inner circle to hold some sway and convince him to modify his stance on electric cars and the climate. Also, because solar and wind power are intermittent, and people are scared of nuclear power, lets pray for develop- ment of new green technology in order to phase out fossil fuels completely. Looking promising is carbon-neutral hydrogen power for powering our vehicles. (HIF Global is now building a green-hydrogen plant near Bay City). Also promising is the development of sun-like fusion power for powering big cities. But we are years away from that, and for now, EVs, solar panels and windmills provide a stop-gap. Planting more trees also helps. BM Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread |
