March 15 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks erased losses in the final hour of trading as American International Group Inc. rallied after investor Bruce Berkowitz said he bought a stake in the bailed-out insurer.
The Standard & Poors 500 Index increased 0.1 percent to 1,150.9 at 3:48 p.m. in New York after sliding as much as 0.7 percent earlier.
