WORLD WAR III Title: Opposing Russophobia With Learned Russophilia In this essay I address Russia’s current round of self-defence against the hostile incursions advanced by most of NATO’s 32 countries. The newest NATO country is Finland on the western boundary of Russia. Some would like to see Ukraine become the 33rd NATO country. NATO’s incursions have grown and proliferated ever since the Cold War ended in 1991. I write as a Canadian who wants to see my country engage in friendly and constructive bilateral relations with Russia, a polity much like ours in many respects. As a result, NATO came together, armed the Ukrainians, and the Ukrainians will win the war. Finland and Sweden decided to join NATO because of Russia's actions, and Ukraine will too. Russia fucked around and found out. Why you have sympathy for the Russians, I'll never know or understand. It's ridiculous.

You want to focus on the Ukrainians, and I cannot stop you. I can tell you it’s wrongheaded. You’re not going to listen. You’re going to call them Nazis, like a good Russian propagandist. Whatever. Russia is going to be crushed in the field by Nazis then. Have it your way. Good.
#6. To: All (#5) This time, the "Nazis" get the lend lease, and have the backing of the full industrial might of the US and the West. Last time, the Russians did, and so they won. They have arrogantly puffed out their chests as though they beat the Nazis alone. ACTUALLY, they started World War II, with Hitler, by allying with each other to take out Poland. The US finally got in, not of our own accord, but because Hitler was stupid enough to declare war on us. So we sent arms to everybody opposed to Hitler, and he was crushed. Russia was part of the victorious coalition, but it was American arms that let them do their part. Nyet! The Russians say. No, WE did it, ALONE! Yeah, sure buddy. Well, now you get the chance to test that. For THIS TIME, Russia, all alone, has chosen to invade a smaller neighbor. And this time, the US is sending all of it's Lend Lease to that smaller neighbor. And the Russians are losing their asses, of course. Russia is a smaller, weaker country than the US in every way other than having vast swathes of empty, unpopulated, useless land. On the map Russia looks big, but that's it. Their army is poor, compared to the US. Their equipment is bad. Their doctrine is poor and antiquated. And their people are propagandized to the point of stupidity. Russia COULD BE a great nation, but they have chosen, instead, the path of chest puffing, imperialism and fantasy, against a much larger and stronger foe. So they are doomed to lose, just as they were doomed in World War 2 but for the alliance with America. This time, America is firmly on the other side, so Russia has what it wanted: a true test of power between itself and the free West. And in that contest, Russia is doomed. Can't win. Too weak. Too backwards. Too stupid. The Russians believed their own propaganda. They fucked around, and now they are finding out. When it's over, Ukraine will be free and part of NATO, Finland and Sweden will have joined NATO, and Russia will be so mauled that it will not be able to keep Belarus from rebelling, throwing off the dictator and the East, and itself becoming part of NATO. THAT is what you get when you refuse to accept realities, beat your chest like gorillas, and try to attack the West. Now, truth is, none of this had to happen. The war was of Russia's choice. If Russia left, the US is not going to let the Ukrainians attack Russia (much). Sure, take out the supply hubs in Belgorod and Rostov-on- Don, but that's it. The US has NEVER wanted Russia. If we did, we would have destroyed Russia and conquered it in the late 40's, when we had hundreds of atom bombs and Russia had none. Putin is rattling the nuclear saber. We're worried that he could become a madman and launch them - and get the Russians wiped off the map for his pains (there is no scenario in which Russia WINS), Assuming the Russians don't all want to die over Ukraine, they will be driven out by the Ukrainian soldiers and Western arms. And then the border will settle down, and stay settled. NATO has never attacked Russia, and never will. But we sure as hell WILL defend the free countries against Russian aggression. That's what we're doing now. Nazi Ukrainians? Pffft. Please. That is Russian propaganda. It apparently works on the stupid, narrow, backwards Russian mind. It's a joke in the West, as Russia has become a joke. A backwards, shitty power whose big army can blow up apartment buildings, and lose in the field. Once the Russians are driven out, Russia will be free to go on being a backwards hell hole. We're not going to invade Russia to rescue THEM from their fascistic thugs. The Russian needs to leave Russia behind to get away from that. But given the Russian threat, we will eventually strip Belarus from the Russian grip too. Lukashenko is finished, and with a broken Russian Army incapable of stopping it, a popular uprising in Belarus will bring another democratic state into the West, into NATO. And that will be that. Russia will look West into a wall of steel they can't breach. Perhaps Georgia too. Russia will have to content itself with stirring up the Muslims, trying to invade Khazakhstan, etc. That is if the Russians themselves don't finally get tired of living in the past and throw off the thugs who rule them. I personally don't think they are capable of it. Without outside help, Russia is only good for rotting in the mud, backwards and oppressed, by their own choice - the Autistic Nation.
