United States News Title: Bluffing their way to an Article V Convention, Part 2: The best PR money can buy In Part 1, we saw that ever since 1907, 2/3 or more of the States have had at least one active application on record asking Congress to call a convention under Article V. And if Congress is hoodwinked into validating all non- rescinded applications by passing H.R.8419 or its 2023 counterpart,[1] Congress will likely trigger the first constitutional convention since 1787. So why wasn’t Congress deceived into calling a convention 50 or 100 years ago? Perhaps it’s because the PR industry hadn’t come of age yet! To justify a “call,” Congress, whose priority is getting re-elected, would require considerable constituent pressure— Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest Begin Trace Mode for Comment # 2. I do not trust a Article V Convention. I listened to Mark Levin preach for it, and others have also. Noteworthy that Levin has a book out about it. I admit, I am not an educated Law student. I know Levin & others say that a convention can be controlled, and would have " safeguards ". Well, lets think about that. Who can prove that said convention will be limited to some things, and blocked from others ? Each state will select their delegates. Well, look at each states Congressional representation. Look at the people they have elected to the House, and to the Senate. That is exactly the kind of people that will become delegates. Now, bear in mind that most are lawyers. Levin & others can say that they could not repeal the 2nd amend. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. But once they convene, and it is packed with liberals / commies, they can do anything they want. They could abolish the US Constitution, and they could adopt a whole new constitution from Hell. They could say " it was legal, so you must STFU. Here is the new law, you must surrender your firearms, your homes, everything you possess now belongs to the state. If you do not like that, put your hands up, and stand in front of that ditch, or go through those doors for a good shower.. Anyone that is in favor of a new convention is either a Traitor, or is incredibly STUPID !!!
#2. To: Stoner (#1) I do not believe TheGreatOne, Mark Levin is either a traitor or stupid, but I agree with your not trusting another Constitutional convention in the present political environment, if ever...MUD
Replies to Comment # 2. I have not yet decided about Levin. I previously really liked him, and had great respect for his opinion. But he did come on strong, banging the drum for the convention. One night he had a caller that was not buying his opinion, asking Levin several questions. Levin got quite belligerent, rude with the guy. He continued to ridicule the caller even after the caller had got off the phone. I was quite shocked at Levin. I realize he was trying to sell his book, but he took the wrong approach As I said, I had always liked him. But he seemed to have changed after he joined the Glen Beck Hate Trump Train. He & Beck went off the deep end. I don't know, but suspect they both lost listeners over that. But back on the Convention, even though it sounds so clean and non messy, I think he is very wrong !!! Oh, and I do still appreciate Levin's attitude about dogs !!! Regards
