1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

As a committed DEIST steadily making the transition over to full-blown Christian, I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of biblical evidence that God is, in actuality, a dude? Not saying God/Allah/Iluvatar is female, either, but more of Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost...and I will say right now that I do NOT KNOW the answer, but would appreciate reading the opinions of others...MUD

God (the Father) refers to Himself in the masculine...

God created man in his own image v.27

Jesus, (God the son), was born a male.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matt 1:23

And God the Holy Spirit, is referred to as "He"

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13

I realize you didn't address your question to me but allow me to reply.

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. Luke 2:21

Jesus, who is fully God and fully man, was circumcised. So yeah...

As a committed DEIST steadily making the transition over to full-blown Christian,

You're making it too complicated.

Simply this: do you want to be with God (Who created all this sweet stuff including the Universe)...or don't cha?

Which one will you choose? To be with God...or to be apart from God?

Thank you...I am not arguy with you here, and I reckon a deeper reading into the Good Book.would result in God our Father voicing a paternalistic tone with Adam, Eve, and others.

However, the skeptic within me is NOT doubting the Word of God when I question the inherent biases of those who were charged with gathering these stories, and those who chose to write down these stories, and even those who claim to know the exact translations of these ancient words. All those folks are dudes, which might explain why men are always the top dogs in any of these monotheistic religions...MUD

Never questioned whether Jesus was/is a gentleman....I have wondered how he made it to the ripe old age of 33 without taking on a wife and fathering offspring, who would naturally have needed tho go into hiding before J.C. fulfilled his destiny. It does my heart good to think that, just maybe, there are descendents of Christ walking the Earth today, although I have no idea how we could ever know one way or another...MUD

In English. The holy spirit is a He in English. In Hebrew, she is a she, always. In Greek, the Holy Spirit is always an "It".

No. Genesis says that God is both male AND female. "In God's image he made them, male and female he made them..." English requires a "he" there, but "he" made them male and female, in his image. The word "Elohiym" in Hebrew - "God(s)" - is a PLURAL noun. The word "Ruach" - wind or spirit in Hebrew - is a feminine noun.

I point this out precisely BECAUSE people try to make a point about God using English. But the Old Testament of the Bible is written in Hebrew, the later portions in Greek. And the New Testament is written in Greek.

"God" in Hebrew is not a "He". It's a "them".

Thank you, my friend...I was hoping you would weigh in. Your explanation buttresses what I was trying to get across. An All-Powerful Deity is far more powerful than our feeble minds could ever appreciate, and to assume God is limited to one sex or the other is small- minded on our parts...MUD

In God's image he made them, male and female he made them.

God is Spirit.

To be made in God's image is to be made a spiritual being. Adam and Eve were made in God's spiritual likeness.

The word "Elohiym" in Hebrew - "God(s)" - is a PLURAL noun.

Elohiym is simply the word for "God" or "god" (as when referring to pagan gods).

Elohiym is plural but has to be in grammatical agreement with the verb...ie. is the verb singular.

"God" in Hebrew is not a "He". It's a "them".

Pointing to the Triune nature of God...One God, Three Persons...easy enough to understand.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The holy spirit is a He in English. In Hebrew, she is a she, always. In Greek, the Holy Spirit is always an "It".

Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as "He".

However when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth; for He shall not speak from Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak; and He will show you things to come. John 16:13

We are to approach God in the masculine.

As to the use of feminine nouns, God is not opposed to refer to Himself using feminine qualities.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

There is infinite tenderness there. What a Great God we have, Vic.

Once again, I am not questioning JC's gender, just wondering why most peoples and religions assume our All-Powerful Diety is a paternal entity. V13 explained it above better than I can, but imho, our God is greater than the whole Male/Female dichotomy...and my reason for bringing up the issue relates to pointing out the inherent biases of those very real human beings who were tasked with hearing, writing down, and then interpretating what we now accept as the Word of God. If all those people who were recording "The Word" were women, I would bet dollars to donutz that God would be seen as a Maternalistic Being.

My best guess would be that God uses gender to establish authority, which in turn establishes order. We see this order through out the Creation.

If all those people who were recording "The Word" were women

This is exactly the methods Satan uses to disrupt the order of the Universe...by putting the female in charge of the male. As if that is not enough, luciferian groups like the Masons inject chaos (the opposite of order) by flipping the genders entirely. Transgenderism = confusion.

From the very beginning Satan worked to disrupt God's order. He creates chaos/confusion and then offers his version of order...which is rebellion toward God.
