1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

No, Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as pneuma, which is always neutral.

In John 14, he refers to the Paraclete, which is a masculine noun, and he uses the masculine pronoun to refer back to the Paraclete - which would be required in Greek.

Jesus never uses a masculine pronoun to refer to the spirit, because spirit is not masculine in Greek.

Of course, Jesus spoke Aramaic, and if you refer to the Aramic Peshitta, the ancient Aramaic text of the Gospels (which contains the words of Jesus in the Aramaic in which he spoke them), he always refers to the Holy Spirit using Ruah, which is a feminine noun in Aramaic, and he always uses a feminine pronoun.

So actually Jesus always referred to the Holy Spirit as a SHE, if one wants to really burrow down. Jesus spoke Aramaic to his people, not Greek. The Gospels are a translation of what he said. The Aramaic Peshitta is what he actuallly said.

what's YOUR sign?!

I'm a Taurus...which means that I am fixed earth and stubborn as a...well, as a bull. There is no POINT in arguing with me about anything. I'm always right, or think I am, and I will never, ever change my mind.

And I have a Scorpio Moon, full moon, actually, and was born at night. Water, but fixed water. DOUBLY stubborn - there is no more stubborn person than me, really. And smart. But with an apparently evil bent. I don't simply dig in, I start to get really ANGRY when people keep pushing me. And with that Scorpio full there, born at night, I won't just stomp the ground like a bull. I'll do that FIRST. But if you keep pushing me, I will fucking sting you again and again and leave you to DIE.

No point in arguing with me. Just look at what I say, see it as very pure, and understand that if you keep arguing with me past a certain point, I really do want to murder you in your sleep. And what good is THAT?

Pisces Ascendant. Which means that I'm all spiritual and soft sounding. So, stubborn iron and murder, but with a gentle exterior that is deceptive.

And Lilith, the "dark moon", the locus of evil in the chart? It's in Scorpio - a nightmare sign: "Sex and death hold an equal fascination! The transience of life and the constant presence of death in their thoughts make these people keep their senses alert at all times, ready to furiously and disdainfully snatch and raid what they please from life. They don’t believe in luck, and they constantly put it to the test whether through gamble or other vices with life itself as the stake."

In truth, I'm a freaking astrological nightmare.

Now, I don't believe that the stars determine anything. I think they're placeholders. I DO think that the time of the year you're born and the influence of the moon's gravity (which moves the tides 60 feet every day in the Bay of Fundy) DOES affect us, not mysteriously but concretely. But then, I WOULD say that, wouldn't I, being a Taurus, Scorpio moon, Lilith in Scorpio.

Of course I say this knowing that the wankers will whine. There is no innocence here. Whine away, wankers! You make me smile.

I'm a Taurus...which means that I am fixed earth and stubborn as a...well, as a bull.

You are ever so funny, in both an evil and transience of life sort of way, of course.

I happened to purchase a bull calf last fall. He's a dandy. He had lived his first two months of life in an 8x8 stall, so you can imagine how happy he was to be turned out on some lush green grass. And he grew accordingly on that grass and leftover milk from my cows. As I was reading your comment, I looked out to see him flying across the paddock...500lb bull meets 1000lb momma cow. He tried to do that "fixed earth" on her and, well...

There's a moral to the story for you somewhere in my barnyard yarn, bully boy. I just don't know what it is.

As to the rest of your terrible condition...

with an apparently evil bent, I start to get really ANGRY, I will fucking sting you again and again and leave you to DIE, I really do want to murder you in your sleep, the locus of evil

...I'd say it's nothing more than good ole demonic possession...and Jesus has healed much worse than you, Vic

1 They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes.2 And when he had stepped out of the boat, immediately a man out of the tombs with an unclean spirit met him. 3 He lived among the tombs; and no one could restrain him any more, even with a chain; 4 for he had often been restrained with shackles and chains, but the chains he wrenched apart, and the shackles he broke in pieces; and no one had the strength to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always howling and bruising himself with stones. 6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down before him; 7 and he shouted at the top of his voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” 8 For he had said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” 10 He begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country. 11 Now there on the hillside a great herd of swine was feeding; 12 and the unclean spirits begged him, “Send us into the swine; let us enter them.” 13 So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the swine; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and were drowned in the sea.

14 The swineherds ran off and told it in the city and in the country. Then people came to see what it was that had happened. 15 They came to Jesus and saw the demoniac sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had had the legion;

I have preached this great message to hundreds of men at homeless shelters. They come in smelly, depressed, often raging, and hear what Jesus did for one such as them...leaving them clothed, sitting down, and in their right minds. There's hope for you, too.

If only you would bow down before Him.

If Jesus shows up and it's really Jesus, sure, I'll bow down.

Bow down to some man who claims to know what Jesus was all about? Hard pass.

I know Jesus as well as any man alive, having read him over and over, in English, in French, cross referenced in Latin, in Greek, in Aramaic.

And I've gone through the drill of doing a complete harmony of everything he ever said or did. So I know not just what he is said to have said, but when, in the scheme of things, he is said to have said it.

Some of it is contradictory. And I know what that is.

There are lots of guys out there who claim to speak for Jesus, but who don't connect what Jesus said in one place to what he said in another.

I used to argue with them. I don't bother anymore.

That's a tremendous amount of reading, cross referencing, and harmonizing just to come up empty. Judging by your intensive study, I see that you do want something. Did not Jesus speak to you directly when He said..."You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me...

BTW....for instance, there is very scant record of Jesus' life throughout his 20's...back then, most men married and procreated by the time they turned 30. Not our Lord and Savior, according to the sources sanctified by the PowersThatBe who compiled, translated, printed, and promoted the Bible we value today. As a Bible scholar who seems to appreciate that this "Word of God" was the work of red-blooded men like you or me, are you absolutely convinced that Jesus does NOT have progeny? Yeah, I know this is "Da Vinci Code" conspiracy stuff, but I believe there is a decent possibility that the blood of Jesus lives on in humanity to this day. Feel free to disabuse me of this pro-Christian (yet anti- Church) pipe dream...lol.

I have no idea if Jesus had kids or not.

I kind of doubt it.

I think HE was convinced of his "mission from God". Now, I do think he actually did have a mission from God, and I think that the voice did speak from heaven a couple of times speaking about him, so I think he had reason to. I think he also knew about his virgin birth. I'm inclined to believe that those things convinced Jesus he was special. Also, I'm inclined to believe that he fled into Egypt with his family, came back after Herod died, and proceeded to Nazareth. I'm inclined to think that some form of the gifts as described were delivered, and that the gold that was described was used, in part, to get the boy a very, very good education. Maybe some of those details are imagined, and he just knew the stuff because of divine inspiration, but I'm inclined to think he was very well educated as well, despite being the child of commoners, because they had money given to them by people who thought the kid was special.

So I think HE thought he was very special, and that this guided his life on a completely unconventional path. And because he thought himself so very special, I don't think he married. Certainly a devout guy in those times, unmarried, would not be having children.

I think that we know nothing of Jesus from 12 to 30 because he was quietly living at home, probably burying his father, deepening his knowledge of religious things, and doing his job. And when God was ready for him, he called him to be baptized, and then to face temptation by the Devil, and then to walk around healing people, feeding people, and preaching to them.

So, I am inclined to accept the story as written, but not to add some conventional life in there, which would make Jesus into a bad father (neglecting his kids and never mentioning them), and a bad husband (never mentioning his wife). I think he was single.

Maybe he was crazy, not divine, but he THOUGHT he was special, and that caused him to behave differently.

The healings: you accept them, he was divine, you reject them, and you have to reject the whole story, because a Jesus who could not heal or feed the multitudes would never have gotten the attention he did...unless it's ALL just made up bullshit.

I don't believe that it is. But it's possible. In which case there is no evidence of any God at all, and ALL religion is just bullshit. Jews, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists - all crazy.

I know there's God, because I've talked to him. So either I'M crazy too, quite sincerely so, or God is real. God and I never talked about Christianity. We have talked about physics, mostly. Nevertheless, the fact that God exists, and has talked to me indicates to me that he has talked to others, and when I look at the different religions, the one that seems most likely to actually be God would be Christianity. Christ SOUNDS LIKE God in many ways. He focuses on exactly the right things: healing the sick, poverty relief, wealth redistribution, doing unto others, and forgiveness.

So, the Gospels COULD be complete bullshit. Or they could be partial bullshit and partial truth. I think that the parts that record what Jesus said are mostly accurate. And they are, in fact, the only parts of the Bible that I think matter. The rest is all one source, and does not convey what Jesus taught. The other parts SOUND LIKE Hinduism or Islam or Judaism. But only Jesus sounds like Jesus.

So, if you want to talk to me about it, sure. I can introduce you to Jesus as he IS, shorn of all of the extra stuff that has been added to him by the religious.

Dying in the Apocalypse just means that you may not have enough time in Gehenna to pay for any unforgiven sins...but the obvious fact OF the Apocalypse means that you're going to be much more punctilious about forgiving. Or at least I will. YMMV. I don't think the end of the world will be anything like John's fever dream.

Obviously I don't FEAR Revelation

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment,

Jesus never talked about Gehenna. It is antichrist bullshit.

And you never raised lizards and cockroaches or whatever from the dead. It is your imagination and self delusion.

We should believe you and not the Bible. No thanks dork.

Considering all the folks who have lived much of their lives believing they were indeed living in the End Times, going back a coupla Millenia, fuels my cynicism as well. If I had a nickel for every past Prophet of Doom who obviously was 100% incorrect in their fervently-held beliefs of impending planet- wide catastrophe, well, I would have a whole lotta nickels...MUD

Yeah, see, this is why I said "No thanks" to this website and you a long time ago.

Coming here, I get yelled at by half-dead men. Why?

Going away again.

Mudboy, I'll miss you.

You're right. We should doubt everything you say about the Bible, and we should believe you that lizards were raised from the dead at your request to God. Anyone who doesn't believe lizards were raised from the dead is not worthy of your greatness.
