Pelosi And Wimp Portland Mayor Wheeler […] Blame The Riots On Trump

Some Republicans blame Trump too.

Republicans blame Trump after
his supporters storm Capitol:
'Enough is enough'

By Megan Henney | Fox News

Some Republicans placed the blame on President Trump after a group of his supporters besieged the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday, voicing frustration with the president for fomenting the riot with his rhetoric about the election.

Within the span of just a few hours, what began as a rally to support the president descended into a mob that stormed the Capitol during the certification of the Electoral College vote, forcing lawmakers, staff and reporters to shelter in place in both the House and Senate. One woman was shot and later died.

Several in the GOP cited Trump's refusal to concede to Joe Biden, his threats against fellow Republicans who disagreed with him and his insistence during his 70-minute speech that he wanted followers gathered on the National Mall to go to the Capitol in protest of what he said was a stolen election as the reason behind the violence.

"We witnessed today the damage that can result when men in power and responsibility refuse to acknowledge the truth," Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., said from the Senate floor. "We saw bloodshed because a demagogue chose to spread falsehoods and sow distrust of his own fellow Americans. Let's not abet such deception."

In social media posts later removed by Facebook and Twitter, Trump – who has maintained, without evidence, that the election was rigged – told the rioters "we love you" and "you're very special," but asked them to "stay peaceful" and later to "go home." Early Thursday morning, Trump promised there would be an "orderly transition of power" on Jan. 20 when Biden is inaugurated.

Republicans who have closely aligned themselves with the president over the past four years implored Trump to stand down.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., a 2024 Republican hopeful, said it was "past time" for the president to accept defeat and released a statement calling on Trump to concede.

"It’s past time for the president to accept the results of the election, quit misleading the American people and repudiate mob violence," Cotton said.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., one of Trump's closest Capitol Hill allies, said "enough is enough" and told the president to "count me out."

"Trump and I, we had a hell of a journey," Graham said on the Senate floor Wednesday night. "I hate it being this way. Oh my God, I hate it ... But today all I can say is count me out. Enough is enough. I tried to be helpful."

Sen. John Thune, the No. 2 Senate Republican, said Trump's rhetoric "sure didn't help" matters.

"Certainly encouraging people to go to the Capitol and some of the sort of implied suggestions I think are you know ... they just encourage the wrong behavior," Thune said.

Asked whether he wanted to hear about what Trump said about the violence, Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., said he "didn't want to hear anything."

"I think it was a tragic day," Blunt said. "And he was part of it."

Some of the president's frequently outspoken critics were more direct, with Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, calling the riot "an insurrection incited by the president of the United States."

"We gather due to a selfish man's injured pride, and the outrage of supporters who he has deliberately misinformed for the past two months and stirred to action this very morning," Romney said. "What happened today was an insurrection incited by the president of the United States."

51 Percent of Republicans Think Trump
Deserves No Blame For Capitol Riots: Poll

By BY JEFFERY MARTIN

Just over half of Republicans do not believe President Donald Trump bears any blame for the Wednesday riot at the U.S. Capitol that resulted in the death of 5 people, according to polling data released on Friday.

Trump has been widely held responsible for encouraging thousands of his supporters to march on the Capitol building while Congress was certifying the Electoral College victory of President-elect Joe Biden. Trump had long insisted, without evidence, that the election had been rigged against him, making him the true winner.

Rioters gained access to the Capitol building, forcing lawmakers to go into hiding. Five people died as a result of the riot. In the aftermath of the riot, a number of lawmakers called for Trump's removal from office.

Not all Republicans place the responsibility for the riot on Trump's shoulders. According to Friday's PBS NewsHour/Marist poll, 51 percent of Republicans believe Trump is "not at all" to blame for the event. Only 3 percent of Democrats polled share that opinion.

A majority of Democrats—85 percent—blame Trump for the riot "a great deal" with only 22 percent of Republicans agreeing with that assessment.

Newsweek reached out to the White House for comment.

During a Wednesday address at a Stop the Steal rally in Washington, Trump told his supporters that Republicans who had agreed to issue formal challenges to Biden's certification needed their support.

"We're going walk down to the Capitol, and we're going to cheer on our brave senators, and congressmen and women," Trump said. "We're probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong."

Trump called for an end to the riot in a since-deleted video posted to social media on Wednesday, in which he told the rioters they "had to go home," but also that they were "special people" whom he loved. The video also repeated Trump's claims that he had won the election. However, Trump did not make a statement explicitly condemning the violence at the Capitol until Thursday.

"Like all Americans, I am outraged by the violence, lawlessness and mayhem," Trump said in a video that was removed by Twitter.

"America is and must always be a nation of law and order," Trump added. "The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy."

Some lawmakers claimed that Trump was complicit in creating an environment that allowed the violent riot to occur by continuing to baselessly claim that the election had been rigged. Lawmakers from both parties encouraged Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal of a sitting president found to be unfit.

Illinois GOP Representative Adam Kinzinger said in a Thursday video posted to Twitter that Trump had "invoked and inflamed passions that only gave fuel to the insurrection that we saw here."

"It's time to invoke the 25th Amendment and end this nightmare," Kinzinger added.

Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska said told the Anchorage Daily News on Friday that she wanted Trump to resign. "I want him out," Murkowski said. "He has caused enough damage."

Pence did not publicly endorse the idea of using the 25th Amendment against Trump, leading Democratic lawmakers to draw up articles of impeachment against the president.

Pelosi And Wimp Portland Mayor Wheeler Conspired And Planned To Blame The Riots On Trump...Nutty Nancy Urges Limp-Wristed Wheeler To Stick To The 'Democrat (Communist) 'Play Book' - Is Nancy's Laptop Starting To Leak?

stated on January 10, 2021 in a Facebook post:

Says Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to Portland’s mayor after demonstrations there “urging him to stick to the proven Democratic Play book.”

By Ciara O'Rourke

Nancy Pelosi didn’t send this letter to Ted Wheeler.

fake letter that’s circulating on social media makes it look like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rallied Portland’s mayor in a scheme to exploit racial justice demonstrations for political means.

"I have seen your response to the riots in your city and I am urging you to stick to the proven Democratic Play book," begins what looks like an Aug. 27 letter from Pelosi to Mayor Ted Wheeler. The letter, riddled with grammar and punctuation errors, continues:

"1: Deny there is a Problem, (Press will support this)

2: Refer to everything as peaceful and calm, (Press will help here also)

3: When all hell breaks loose, go on camera and show your support for anybody breaking the law, (Press will praise you for this, you will be a new hero, trust me).

4: When you can no longer keep any order ‘BLAME TRUMP!’ (I cannot over emphasize #4, This has worked every time we have used it and again the Press has told me they will support and fact check any claim we make!! THIS IS POLITICAL GOLD!!)

5: Go on Television and Condemn TRUMP and refuse any assistance! WeCANNOT give TRUMP any victory before the election!!!!!!"

It’s signed "best wishes, Nancy Pelosi." This post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)

Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff, told PolitiFact the letter is fake.

A spokesperson for Wheeler confirmed and said that the mayor hasn’t received "any correspondence from Speaker Pelosi during recent demonstrations."

It doesn’t take much to unearth the supplies one would need to doctor a letter from the speaker.

Letters from Pelosi to other government officials — such as this October 2020 letter to the Secretary Treasury Steven Mnuchin — are available online.

But while the letterhead and signature in the missive posted on social media resembles those in this letter to Mnuchin, the error-filled text is unlike anything that appears in Peloi’s correspondence to the treasury secretary.

We found nothing to support the claim that this letter is real.

Why people are wired to believe what they want to believe.

You really should learn to stop being a sucker for this fake news and conspiracy theory shit – simply because it is something that you “want” tp believe.

A sucker for fake news?

That link you referenced is ridiculous. This country was never built on a democracy. It was established on a Republican form of government and that this nation is a republic and not a democracy. When it is run by a democracy, it becomes a hub central for mob rule, lawlessness and absolute contempt for the working class. There is no such thing as free speech in a democracy. Mob rule dictates your opinions and reasoning. Any opponents are pounded down like nails out of place or purged from society. We are witnessing this happening right now. Open your eyes.

Yes – Definitely …

That link you referenced is ridiculous.

If …

… [some] people are [not] wired to believe what they want to believe –

– Then you tell me why they believe it and immediately parrot it on a chit-chat forum to spread it further.

I will be most interested to hear your answer …

Open your eyes.

Read the LINK again and point to me exactly where anything is stated in there about “a democracy or Republican form of government” that you that you went into a rant to espouse on in reference to the article.

You obviously never read the article.

That is quite obvious since all you did was take the opportunity of me posting the article to get on your soap box and state something that was on your mind – although it was completely unrelated to the article.

Right?

With all due respect – You should have done that before you made your supporting post to Stone.

They believe it to be fake.

Not only do “they” believe it to be fake – There are many other sources that also state it is a fake.

Finally, my mind is always open...so are my eyes!

I don’t understand how they were this time – But I do appreciate your statement of concern.

I am still in doubt about whether this is indeed fake.

Due to the fact that most of the social media has been been sorely censored, I have very little trust for most mainstream media. The vetting of information are being governed by communists.

I can understand that.

Due to the fact that most of the social media has been been sorely censored,

Quite true …

I have very little trust for most mainstream media.

I really have little trust for anything I read on the Internet.

And I challenge in order to search for the truth.

The vetting of information are being governed by communists.

I consider that to be an emotional statement and I have no reason to disagree with your intended point.

It is quite noticeable that you often stay off forum for a long period of time.

I would think that is because you find nothing posted that is interesting to respond to.

I do hope that I can furnished enough articles – albeit some will be controversial, and I feel that is good – to get you to return more often and create activity on this forum.

And I invite you to please post articles.

It is not an emotional statement to say that most of our social media are governed by moderators who elect to terminate accounts of those who support Trump.

I would think that is because you find nothing posted that is interesting to respond to.

Correct

I do hope that I can furnished enough articles – albeit some will be controversial, and I feel that is good – to get you to return more often and create activity on this forum.

It's not so much the controversy; cause I like that. It just some articles just don't pique my interest.

When you click onto that link of yours, to the far left corner it read "Media & Democracy". Whenever, I hear those pompous idiot/elitists in Washington D.C. use the word "We live in a Democracy" I have to wonder how they managed to pass high school. Most of them need to go back and get schooled on their history to understand what our country was actually founded under.
