A woman at a grade-school football game in Ohio on Wednesday was reportedly tased and arrested by a police officer for not wearing a face mask in the stands.

The woman was sitting in the bleachers with her mother when she got into an altercation with the cop about mask-wearing at a middle school in the town of Logan, the Marietta Times reported.

Video of the incident, which was posted to YouTube, shows the woman resisting as the officer struggles to handcuff her for nearly two minutes before he deploys his Taser.

WARNING: THIS VIDEO MIGHT CONTAIN GRAPHIC LANGUAGE

The woman, identified in the report as Alecia Kitts, repeatedly tells the officer to “get off of me,” the video shows.

“You’re not arresting me for nothing, I ain’t doing nothing wrong,” she yells after the officer orders her to place her hands behind her back.

Once the officer tases Kitts, she falls to a lower tier of the bleachers, according to the footage.

The use of force shocked others watching the game.

“Tasing this lady over not wearing a damn mask,” a witness can be heard saying.

As the woman is finally hauled away, her mother pleads with the cop: “Come on, it’s just a mask!”

A woman at a grade-school football game in Ohio on Wednesday was reportedly tased and arrested by a police officer for not wearing a face mask in the stands.

The report is in error. Allegedly, after she was asked to leave for violating school policy, and refused, she was arrested for criminal trespassing. She was tased due to her resisting arrest. These are the two misdemeanor charges to be filed against her.

The officer was a school resource officer.

Regarding the cops not wearing a mask, the Ohio Department of Health Director's Order of July 23, 2020 ordering facial coverings throughout the state, section 2, contains a provision that "The requirement to wear a facial covering does not apply when: . . . "g. The individual is actively engaged in a public safety capacity, including but not limited to law enforcement, firefighters or emergency medical personnel."

"The requirement to wear a facial covering does not apply when: . . . " The individual is actively engaged in a public safety capacity, including but not limited to law enforcement...

Isn't that convenient? Ohio law allows for a mask exemption for medical conditions - the lady has asthma.

Good grief! She was OUTDOORS, at least a six feet away from anyone there was no risk to anyone until they started hassling her. Did you see anyone get up and run away?

Gee whiz, they could have just asked her to move further away.

Your hatred for freedom has been duly noted. May your chains rest lightly quisling.

And yet, the fact remains that she was not arrested for violating Ohio mask law, or for not wearing a mask, but for criminal trespass after refusing to comply with school policy in compliance with OHSAA policy.

It also remains that it is irrelevant to a charge of criminal trespass whether she was social distancing or not. Social distancing is also irrelevant to a charge of resisting arrest.

It also remains that she faces criminal penalties.

Said Doug Ute, the Director, Ohio High School Athletic Association, "If you have a health condition and you want to watch your child play, then you need to communicate with the school ahead of time on what that condition is."

Also said Doug Ute, "If they don't follow the rules we could become a place to spread the virus through our events, and we don't want to do that because that would shut down our contests... shutdown our children's opportunity to compete in sports."

The school had the mandatory mask wearing imposed upon it by the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a prerequisite to permit fan attendance at athletic events. Only parents and close relatives of participants on the field are permitted to attend.

The mask requirement was publicly announced, and as required, there was signage at the event, and every person entering was reminded of the mask requirement, and the "lady" apparently had a mask with her.

It is analagous to entering WalMart openly carrying a handgun in a constitutional carry state. You get asked to leave and if you do not, you get arrested for criminal trespass and then you are removed, using such force as necessary to effect your removal. Then you are banned for life from entering any WalMart store nationwide. That you may have a right to keep and bear a handgun does not mean you can lawfully do so where it is not permitted.

Perhaps you enjoy getting arrested, being tased, going to jail and getting fined. Anyone enjoying these things that you appear to enjoy can listen to your bullshit. You may even make the ultimate act of defiance and go on a military base carrying a handgun and refusing to wear a mask. When you inform the military police of your legal rights, they are sure to be highly impressed.

Derek Skylar Steward filed a complaint against Officer Smith. The police were duly impressed.

Because the virus never travels alone. 95% of the time it's attached to a liquid droplet larger than the gaps. Hence the name N95 mask which is designed to slow the spread of the virus.

That's a misapplication of the word. Selfish is "of a person".

When society requires a mask it is not acting "selfishly". It's acting to protect the majority from the idiocy of individuals who cannot cite one good reason for not going along.

cannot cite one good reason for not going along

Are you saying we should all just "go along", follow the crowd, lose our individuality? For that is exactly what the mask does to a person.

We were a nation of free thinkers, which gave birth the the modern world. Now we are ripe for a petite dictator to control every aspect of our lives. Is that what you want? Surely you do not want that kind of life for your posterity.

Here are some verses you overlooked...

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
Christians should have nothing to do with masks. The entire Covid pandemic is a lie, the fruitless deeds of darkness.

Not even a crowded situation. One way for those present, few in number as it seemed to be, to semi-passively get involved is to remove their own mask. Obviously runs the risk of whatever legal consequences, but it would make a statement and force the police to decide whether they want to do more arrests in that situation.

Another option is to put on an extremely poor quality mask. Ordinances probably don't stipulate what quality a mask must have. I saw a pic of a knit mask that had 1/4 inch spacing between the stitches. Saw a vid of a guy wearing a Lone Ranger mask at a store claiming to the people there it complies with their stated "face covering" requirement.

But it's hard to watch that video without being outraged at the cop, regardless of what the law actually says.

Fine. But that won't change public perception of the incident. Nor will people be sympathetic to the idea that a school can force people to depart a football game for not wearing a mask on the theory that the person is then "trespassing".

I don't doubt that you agree with the notion that the founders signing of the Declaration of Independence was criminal act, and every militant action against the England's military forces was sedition and illegal. But sometimes, morality takes precedence over the stated law, and what became of that act of treason is the very set of US laws you admit are now binding in the USA.

There is, quite often, a higher moral calling than simply abiding by the letter of the law.

That's a fair question.

He claims to be an independent contractor (home repairs, etc.) in Ohio; this means he has a RESPONSIBILITY to the public, particularly knowing that all of us are dealing with a pandemic that has claimed over 200,000 (USA) lives so far. Wearing a face mask is a method of prevention for spreading the COVID-19 disease to others; in fact, that face mask could be a method of spreading the other diseases you mentioned, as well.

How do you maintain your Ohio professional contractor's license when you do not observe Ohio state requirements for professional services observing health and safety requirements? Are you exempt from spreading a major disease because you own an Internet chit-chat channel?

In the past, you have claimed to be an independent contractor for home repairs in Ohio. If you are lucky enough to win someones confidence in your capabilities, it is because you are relying on being a liar, a thief or a charlatan. I imagine you may be called by a little ol' lady for your help to clean her septic tank and you give a low cost bid. You may be spreading the pandemic because of your IRRESPONSIBLE actions. Suck your cesspools, pal... until your eyes are glazed over.

A year ago, the only people wearing masks were those who wanted to hide their identities, you know, like criminals.

Now those who DON'T wear masks are the criminals.

Why We Should Question the Narrative on Masks (American Conservative)

Mask wearing is just another form of "virtue signaling" for the left.

Government is in the last resort the employment of armed men, of policemen, gendarmes, soldiers, prison guards, and hangmen.
The essential feature of government is the enforcement of its decrees by beating, killing, and imprisoning.
Those who are asking for more government interference are asking ultimately for more compulsion and less freedom.

I found this while looking for Ohio mask exemptions regarding the football game...

the new statewide order does not rescind prior orders...requires all businesses across the state to require employees to wear facial coverings, except when the use of facial coverings:

#6. Is not functional or practical to be worn by an employee in the workplace – i.e., safety, breathing conditions, increased risk of heat stress, etc.
There are exemptions to the mask mandate in Ohio, especially regarding physical activity.

33 states have laws regarding the criminalization of HIV transmission.

Let's do that for COVID.

Great. Let's do it for the common flu also. That kills lots of people.

Well, if some state want to mandate masks for the flu for it's citizens, who am I to say they shouldn't?

So you would tell someone from another state how they should live their lives? So much for Federalism, States' rights, the tenth amendment, and the U.S. Constitution.

There is not law in Ohio that requires face masks. If i am mistaken show me the law. You can't because it doesn't exist.

If the government told you to wipe shit on your face you would comply.

Shiteroo.

I, Lance D. Himes, Interim Director of the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), pursuant to the authority granted to me in R.C. 3701.13 to "make special orders...for preventing the spread of contagious or infectious diseases" Order the following to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into the State of Ohio:

1. Preamble: As the spread of COVID-19 accelerates in Ohio, the Department of Health supplemented existing statewide Orders with a system of further guidance to protect Ohioans. The majority of the residents of this State now live in a county that has triggered four or more of the key indicators in the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. This reveals that the State of Ohio is experiencing a very high exposure and spread of COVID-19. Immediate action is necessary to mitigate the danger that this presents to the residents of this State. Therefore, to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Ohio, I Order all residents of the State of Ohio to wear facial coverings (masks) when out in public in accordance with the requirements set forth in Section 3 of this order.

2. Facial Coverings (Masks). Except as provided herein, all individuals, in the State of Ohio shall wear facial coverings at all times ...

At the moment, the world is in the midst of a pandemic. A face mask, when properly worn with appropriate distancing is a proven method to prevent the disease. So, the answer should be by any responsible persons, especially when involved with the transfer of goods and services.

The question I asked has to do with the so called "mark of the beast" which shares a lot of parallels with Covid 19, wearing masks, and vaccinations, in that many stores and businesses are refusing to sell to people without masks.

In the Bible we are told that humans will one day be required to receive a mark on their hand in order to buy and sell. The results however will be the loss of one's soul for eternity.

I ask the question because misterwhite is always overly compliant with government, never questioning are they right/are they wrong.

It is a very simple question. Would you or misterwhite go so far in your complicance as to take a mark upon your hand in order to buy or sell if the government told you to take it?

Why didn't you state the association of your Biblical prophecies in the first place.

For myself, I do not enjoy wearing a mask anymore than others. But, the issue in front of us is a sense of social responsibility; we are dealing with a world-wide pandemic NOT a tyrannical government or a Biblical prophecy.

Ah. "The Government". Those nameless, faceless entities telling us what to do all the time.

Just a reminder. WE THE PEOPLE are the government. We vote. We have a say. And no one wants any marks on their hand to buy and sell.

Just another thing to chew on.

A plurality of Germans voted in Hitler's party.

Not everything the peepoo vote in works out.

Often it comes back to bite them in the ass.

A republic should have brakes to prevent what's popular at the moment from becoming something really stupid.

A plurality of Germans voted in Hitler's party.

Hindenburg won the 1932 election in the second round with 53% of the vote. In 1933, he appointed Hitler as chancellor.

Hitler succeeded Hindenburg as head of state upon his death in 1934.

Yes, a slight oversimplification for the sake of argument.

In the last free election of 1932, National Socialist German Workers Party won the largest number of seats in parliament followed by the Social Democratic Party of Germany with the Communist Party of Germany in third place.

These elections set the stage for the passage of the Enabling Act and NSDAP's seizure of parliamentary power near the end of 1933.
