Opinions/Editorials Title: Let's start a movement to..... Let's start a movement to get manufacturers and providers to start making and selling bigger cell phones! I can't be the only one with thick, arthritic fingers that fumble and drop the damn thing half the time while trying to open it to answer a call,or to accidentially push the wrong button on the sides and either hang up or shut off the ringer. Who the hell was it that had the brain fart to put function buttons on the sides of these things, anyhow? And this ain't even addressing the problme of tiny little buttons that are hard to see or hit with thick fingers. And no,the phones don't need to be the size of full-sized phones like you have hanging on your well. Just big enough to fill a t-shirt pocket would be a huge step in the right direction. They were all that big a few years back, and then it became trendy to make them smaller. And while we are at it,NO DAMN BUTTONS ON THE SIDES! This is the one I'm using. Cool, isn't it? “They’re not knowin what are we gonna do if we don’t have Tea Party support” - Sarah Palin at TeaBagger Con 2010 #2. To: sneakypete (#0) Everything you've said here, my husband has said many times..and still does. I just don't know of any business that sells small phones with larger numbers and/or buttons...If anyone knows of a place, I wish they'd share it!
#3. To: sneakypete (#0) A friend of mine received a Christmas gift from his sister. It was about an 18 inch long TV remote control. He's going to have his neighbor program it for him. One that you won't lose. It's functional too, from what I saw.

#7. To: go65 (#4) www.jitterbug.com/Phones/ Those phones don't seem to be any larger than the one I have now. #14. To: Fred Mertz (#11) Do you know if you type Illuminati backwards and add dot com to it where you'll end up? No,I didn't know that, and I still don't know why I am supposed to care. Fred, why are we supposed to worry about the NSA? Is the whole backwards thing supposed to be some sort of a code? If you don't think the NSA can do better than that with codes, you sure don't know much about them. And if being tracked through your phone worries you that much (and what makes you so important the government would even bother to track you?),just take the battery out of it,wrap it in tinfoil,or leave the damn thing home when you go to your Cub Scout meetings. No more having to sit inside the damn house while I'm waiting for somebody to return a call,no more driving around looking for a phone booth,no more missed calls, etc, etc, etc. What's not to love? If I don't want to receive/answer calls or I'm in a restaurant, movie, doctors office, etc, etc, etc,I just turn the damn thing off. *I* own it,it doesn't own me. To: sneakypete (#15) No more having to sit inside the damn house while I'm waiting for somebody to return a call,no more driving around looking for a phone booth,no more missed calls, etc, etc, etc. I like the leave-a-message feature on the phone at home. I don't have to be there. If someone really wants to talk to me, they leave a message and hope that I call back. I'm anchored to 2 cell phones at work. I always have some self-important person calling just to gab in my ear. At home, it's the wife's play-toy. I won't touch it.
#17. To: Sarajevo (#16) I'm anchored to 2 cell phones at work. I always have some self-important person calling just to gab in my ear. That's a different situation than mine. Mine is purely a personal cell phone bought to satisfy MY needs and nobody else's. The fact is that I don't even like talking on telephones. As far as I am concerned they are to be used primarily to pass messages. If I want to carry on a conversation with you,I will go to your house or invite you over to mine. In general,I even tell my friends to not call me to just talk. If they do call and talk about general chat subjects for more than a few minutes,I tell them I have to do other things, say goodbye, and hang up. If they do this very often I just don't answer the phone when they call. I let them go to voice mail. I honestly just don't like talking on telephones. The only exception to the above is with people who live hundreds of miles away that I don't get a chance to see very often. Even then I tell them to only call after dark.
