Report: Jesus, Mary, Joseph Were Actually Detained Under Obama Administration December 10th, 2019 CLAREMONT, CA—A nativity scene has been gaining much publicity in the media for its depiction of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph getting detained in cages at the border. But media coverage quickly ended when it was revealed that the Holy Family was actually detained under the Obama administration. One investigative journalist looked around the cages and found a stamp on one of them reading, "Manufactured in 2014 by order of President Barack Obama." "Hey, guys, uh, we've got a problem -- looks like this was Obama's doing," he said. "Aren't we supposed to cover this up instead then?" News vans immediately hightailed it from the scene, offering the local United Methodist Church no more news coverage after the revelation. "Oh, this was under Obama? Move along, nothing to see here," said one field reporter as he packed up his camera gear. "We thought this occurred under Trump, so we were going to make it a big news story we'd have pushed for weeks on end, trying to milk every last tear out of our gullible audience. But that Obama guy, we had a deal with him not to cover injustices occurring under his administration. So we're moving onto the next thing Trump tweeted instead." Some also pointed out the historical inaccuracy that the family wasn't technically illegal immigrants, but the UMC reverend in charge of the display said she would not let historical facts get in the way of the hysterical feelings.

The display shows an infant Jesus wrapped in a silver mylar blanket. The holy family is separated, each in a cage with Jesus in between Joseph and Mary. "We thought about the most famous refugee family in the world, the family of Jesus," said the Rev. Karen Clark Ristine of Claremont United Methodist Church. Inside the church, Jesus, Mary and Joseph are reunited as a family. "What if this family sought refuge in our country today?" Ristine said in a Facebook post. "Imagine Joseph and Mary separated at the border and Jesus no older than two taken from his mother and placed behind the fences of a Border Patrol detention center as more than 5,500 children have been the past three years. Jesus grew up to teach us kindness and mercy and a radical welcome of all people." Stirred to tears by the Claremont UMC nativity. Inside the church, the Holy Family is reunited. "I appreciate it as a First Amendment issue. I respect the religiosity of it... but it's a leap," Rudy Barbee said. "I love this. It's strong, it's powerful, it's graphic," said another woman while viewing the display. A church in Los Feliz is also making a similar statement with their own display of a nativity scene with the holy family in cages. Residents there say it's the talk of the neighborhood, which is what church officials in Claremont wanted. "It was nice for me to see that people wanted to talk with one another, even though they disagreed," Ristine said. "So, if this sparks conversation that would be one good goal."
Well, they kinda got a point: Matthew 25:35-40 King James Version (KJV) 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. ======= Good for them! They evidently understand why the Organized Criminals who ran the Soviet Gulag system built walls - and the United States of America DIDN'T.
