Hillary Clinton emerges as top choice of Democratic voters in Harvard-Harris presidential poll

Poll finds Clinton edges Biden, Sanders

By Valerie Richardson
The Washington Times
Monday, December 9, 2019

She’s not running for president — yet — but Hillary Clinton was the top choice for Democratic voters in the Harvard-Harris national poll released last week.

Mrs. Clinton drew 21%, followed by former Vice President Joseph R. Biden with 20%, when registered Democrats were asked whom they would support for the 2020 party presidential nod if she and former Secretary of State John Kerry were added to the mix.

Placing third in the hypothetical race was Vermont Sen. Bernard Sanders at 12%, followed by Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 9% and ex-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg at 7%.

The online survey of 1,859 voters was conducted Nov. 27-29, a few days after Mr. Bloomberg entered the race, by the Harris Poll, and released by the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard.

She's coming!!!

No, she's not.

I've reconsidered my earlier opinion that Warren was poised to win. She's too far Left and too hated by Wall Street Dem donors.

It'll be Biden unless he's considered too senile in which case it'll be Bloomberg, the self-funding "centrist" which will also free up Dem spending down-ticket. Imagine the Dems with Bloomberg spending $1.5B-$2B on his own campaign and all that money freed up to spend on congressional and state races to elect more Dems. And Bloomberg has the cash to make it happen.

I thought Warren would do better, but she is done. Her phoniness came through, and support dried up. The party itself has had little success raising money with this traveling sideshow of candidates.

Biden can't go the distance. He will need a Scooby van and someone to remind him what city he is in. And who can believe his Corn Pop stories?

I doubt Bloomberg can gain any real traction. I think he is just injecting a load of money for the party and to influence the selection of some upcoming knight in shining armor.

I do not see what any of them will run on. The economy is out. There is free health care for all, free college, free basic income, waiving student debt, and open borders. The only Dem candidate who shows a lick of sense appears to be Tulsi Gabbard, but she is a party outcast.

Liz 70, Booker 47, Buttigieg 37, Castro 44, Klobuchar 58 -- I don't see it.

The youthful party of diversity seems to have coalesced around a few very old white guys. Trump can run for the youth vote.

Bernie 78, Joe 77, Mike 77

I don't see how they allow Sandy from the Hood (or Rashida Talib, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley) to be the face of the party, and then try to run an old white fossil.

I'm not sure Mike Bloomberg can qualify for the debates, and four early primaries are in February. He has a practically unlimited supply of money, but rather lacks charisma.

Dem debates are snooze fests.

Bernie at least has a following. I reckon they are still pissed at the party about 2016 and would not turn out for Joe. A real threat to the Dem party is losing a sizable hunk of the black vote. The party is in a mess.

A major problem for the Dems is that people who are employed and busy spending their earnings don't get as interested in the politics of redistribution. They start to worry that their own earnings will be redistributed.

Wall Street would have to crash the economy to win in this environment. We've already heard a few of the Dem mouthpieces like Bill Maher wishing for this openly.

Biden can't go the distance. He will need a Scooby van and someone to remind him what city he is in. And who can believe his Corn Pop stories?

His stories get weirder. In the Corn Pop speech, he rambled on about his golden leg hair that the little black people loved to caress. Creepy!

Biden: "I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. The kids used to come up and reach in the pool & rub my leg down so it was straight & watch the hair come back up again. So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap…" pic.twitter.com/GXSgRVSti6

Does Buttigieg's leads in IA/NH amount to anything more than some Lefty professors and students and liberal farmers in these tiny states wanting bragging rights to voting for the first gay presidential candidate?

Buttigieg 2020 is the Dem version of GOP with Herman Cain 2012. No real sign that anyone knows who Booker/Castro/Klobuchar are, even in their home states.

A major problem for the Dems is that people who are employed and busy spending their earnings don't get as interested in the politics of redistribution.

Well, there's that. And they went all in on a congressional strategy to "resist" while pursuing non-stop investigation of Trump with a view toward impeachment, the cry of Impeached! to be used in 2020.

The result is a congress whose only accomplishment has been to issue more subpoenas than laws. And Trump still has the Dow Jones at 28,000 and unemployment at 3%+. And they have a clown car of candidates.

Fewer people can watch their daytime impeachment soap opera because they have a job. People with a job may not join to fight with the party to get back on food stamps or to support unlimited importation of illegal alien competition for their jobs.

The Dems have painted themselves into a corner where they have no viable candidate and no viable issue or record to run on.

He should wrap up the gay and transgender vote. The gay community can provide funding, but votes not so much. This small city mayor does not have quite the charm and charisma of a youthful Bill Clinton. He would be nowhere but for the fact that the rest of the slate is so hopeless. The Dems are still searching for a candidate they can support.

They cannot sell Joe or Liz to the people, and they cannot sell Bernie to the party establishment powers. The party actively works to suppress Gabbard, restricting her to about 3 minutes talking time in a 2-hour debate. The party PTB efforts to impose a candidate alienated the Bernie bros last time. The Clinton emails laid them bare. Their efforts this time will not go unnoticed.

I think that you may be right that they are in big trouble with the Bernie Bros. See how it worked out for the GOP when they shat all over Ron Paul's supporters in 2008 and 2012. The GOP did their best to conceal how much that cost them in votes in key states but it is why they hate RP with such passion.

You might get your wish. Amash continues to refuse to say that he will not run against Trump, either as a GOP candidate or as a Libertarian.

But I don't think so. I think he'll try to hold his House seat as an independent congressman, much as Bernie and Angus King do. Manchin is officially Dem but operates as an independent. And you no doubt recall Lieberman was defeated as a Dem in the primary but came back as an indy in the general election, was backed by GOP voters who dumped their own Senate candidate to help elect Lieberman as Senator again. Lieberman was aided by McStain/Graham and a few other GOPs under the sway of the usual warmongering neocons.

Amash will not run. He couldn't get reelected to congress as a republican. If he runs for something, he only has just so many family members who can vote for him. That's about the extent of his support.

Wonder how much she had to pay to get those poll results ??

The Democratic Party is short of money. Bloomberg is just a make believe candidate injecting money into a drowning Dem campaign for the presidency.

The PTB are trying to ignore Tulsi & Bernie but the people will be heard at the polls none the less.

That would be the PTB of the Democratic Party.

They're all better than Donnell Trump.

The nominating and election will be a disaster for the liberal Dems. The Dems do not have a viable candidate. The primaries start in February.

Joe Biden evokes memories of Bernie Lomax.
