I got it in a email that didn't mention the source,and I was convinced it was photos from the 50's.
BTW,anybody notice how small the houses were back then? 1200 square feet was considered to a big house. Now everybody thinks they NEED 3,000 square feet to live. IMHO,this is the prime reason so many women think they "have" to work today. They and their husbands are making payments on houses "too big" for them in every sense of the word,and this goal is now more important than raising their children.
Too many Americans are just convinced that they have a right AND a obligation to live beyond their means.
The first rule of economics you need to teach your children is "It doesn't matter how much you make. What matters is how much it takes."
We have way to much 'house' but when we bought it my father in law lived with us. When he passed away four years later, we were pretty much 'locked in'.
I think there's more to it than 'big houses' sneaky. gymn shoes used to cost what...20 bucks? Now its 100.
