The 1974 album from the founding Byrds member
In 1974, Gene Clark—founding member of the Byrds—released his album No Other. It was considered a commercial failure at the time of its release, but it was beloved by critics and musicians. The album is getting a massive reissue on November 8—to coincide with would’ve been Clark’s 75th birthday—via 4AD. The remastered album will be available on CD, LP, a double CD set, and a deluxe box set. Find physical editions of the No Other reissue at Rough Trade. The double CD and box set come with an additional set of alternate versions from the album’s sessions. The box set also comes with a Blu-ray featuring a documentary about the album by Paul Kendall, a 7" featuring two alternate versions from the album, HD and surround mixes of No Other, and a hardcover book with extensive liner notes and unpublished photos. Listen to two original sessions from the album for the songs “Silver Raven” and “From a Silver Phial.”
In 2014, to mark the album’s 40th anniversary, a band including Beach House, Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, Grizzly Bear’s Daniel Rossen, and Hamilton Leithauser performed the album on tour.
