CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR (KPTV) - A Wilsonville mother accused of taking her daughter out of the state to avoid cancer treatment has been booked into the Clackamas County Jail.

Christina Dixon was booked early Thursday morning on two counts each of first-degree custodial interference and first-degree criminal mistreatment.

On June 10, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Wilsonville police asked for the public's help locating Christina and her 13-year-old daughter Kylee.

Officials said a court order was issued for Kylee to be placed in the custody of the Oregon Department of Human Services. Deputies said the girl is in need of medical attention and her mother ignored the court order.

Online postings by the family state Kylee is battling cancer, but she is in “great care” with her mom, who is treating the teen with the use of CBD oil and naturopathic treatments.

Deputies worked with the FBI on the case and, acting on tips, notified the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that Christina and Kylee were in Nevada.

The sheriff's office said Christina and Kylee were located on June 13 at the Long Horn Casino & Hotel. Kylee was placed in protective custody.

Christina is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon in Oregon City.

FOX 12 reporter Amber Wilmarth spoke with Christina Thursday morning and asked if she ever thought she'd be in jail over the battle.

"No, definitely not. Cause I wouldn't think this is possible for any parent to go through, for getting charged for helping my daughter live makes no sense," Christina told FOX 12.

Christina says she did speak with her daughter over the phone two days ago. She says Kylee is doing well and undergoing a natural treatment similar to what she had her on already.

FOX 12 reached out to DHS for comment. They sent back a statement saying: "The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) takes the safety and well-being of children very seriously.  DHS is obligated to comply with court orders, and any actions DHS may take in regard to this child will be focused on the child’s safety and well-being.  DHS has requirements to protect the safety and health of the children in our care, as well as their personal information. While we appreciate the community’s support for the child, we are not able to share information. "

Poster Comment:

In June of 2018, Kylee left the hospital and began her natural treatment using vitamins, herbs, and pure CBD oil for the cancer. And, according to the family, it worked.

“It started reversing her tumor for the first time,” said Christina, who claimed the tumor reduced in size by 90% during the past year.

“My daughter’s cancer has not spread. And no, she hasn’t had chemotherapy or any other treatments for the last 11 months,” explained Christina. “She is thriving, surviving and doing better than ever.”

Despite the dramatic improvement in Kylee’s health after they abandoned chemotherapy, the state still felt it necessary to intervene. In June, they came looking for the mother and daughter, with police claiming Christina had kindapped her own daughter and was treating her against her will. All of this, of course, was lies, according to Christina.

In the land of the free, your child can be stolen from you by the government and you can be thrown in a cage for treating your daughter’s cancer — successfully — in a manner in which the state disapproves. And we call this “Freedom.”

Shameful indeed.

I don’t understand what you have posted. I of course usually don’t. I know – you will say – “my bad.” I will accept that, so please help me to understand what is going on here.

You are writing about “June of 2018” when it was on June 6 of this year [2019] that an operation was scheduled to remove the tumor which the doctors have said would cause Kylee’s death in not removed.

When she did not report for the surgery, they went looking for her the next day and she was nowhere to be found.

So, among one of the many things I do not understand about this is if it is as Christina claimed and the tumor had reduced in size by 90% – then why do you think the doctors felt it was absolutely necessary to remove the “last 10% of the tumor” to save Kylee’s life?

And BTW - Christina Dixon would not supply the TV station with medical records to show the tumor had reduced in size by 90%.

It was 2019 - my bad, not yours - this time.

Government is in the last resort the employment of armed men, of policemen, gendarmes, soldiers, prison guards, and hangmen.
The essential feature of government is the enforcement of its decrees by beating, killing, and imprisoning.
Those who are asking for more government interference are asking ultimately for more compulsion and less freedom.

The title has been bastardized. There has been no successful treatment of liver cancer with CBD oil.

13-year-old Oregon girl with cancer mandated to have surgery over mom's objections

Christina Dixon was charged with criminal mistreatment after refusing to continue her daughter's cancer treatment, opting instead for vitamins and CBD oil.

An Oregon court is ordering that a 13-year-old girl with a rare liver cancer have surgery and receive other medical treatment despite the objections of her mother.

The battle over Kylee Dixon's treatment began after her mother, Christina Dixon, halted a doctor-prescribed regimen to instead pursue alternative medicine such as CBD oil and vitamins, NBC affiliate KGW8 in Portland reported.

Dixon has said that after Kylee went through six months of chemotherapy, she could no longer watch her daughter suffer.

“The best way I can describe it is like my kid was on death row,” Dixon said, according to KGW8. “Every single time — you literally feel your kid’s life getting taken away.”

But the state stepped in, with the Clackamas County juvenile court's filing a dependency petition in March that said Dixon's decision amounts to neglect and "creates a risk of harm to the child.”

In June, Kylee was ordered to be placed in state custody.

On June 10, a sheriff’s office in Oregon put out a missing-endangered poster for Kylee, saying the mother was ignoring Kylee’s need for medical treatment, KGW8 reported. Three days later, police found the two in Nevada and placed Kylee in child-protective custody.

Some Oregon residents side with the mother, holding rallies in Portland and Salem and calling the state's decision to remove Kylee "medical kidnapping."

Kylee herself recorded an emotional YouTube video, "I'm On Death Row For Surviving Cancer," asking for help in her pursuit of alternative medicine instead of chemotherapy.

Ultimately, in July, a judge ruled that the state, not Dixon, would make medical decisions for Kylee.

“I’m going to let the surgeons do what they need to do,” Judge Heather Karabeika of the Clackamas County Circuit Court said at the time. And last week, Dixon turned herself into police. She faces charges of criminal mistreatment and custodial interference.

The state this week moved forward with its plan to get Kylee back in cancer treatment, saying that she must attend a doctor’s appointment and that she is on the path to get surgery to remove a tumor.

The court also requested that Kylee be placed in the care of a family member, as contact between her and her mother has been largely cut off and she remains in foster care.

Dixon is still fighting the state for control over her daughter's care.

Mother of 13-year-old Oregon cancer patient turns herself in to police

Christina Dixon is being held at the Clackamas County jail on charges of custodial interference and criminal mistreatment.

Editor's note: The video above is from July 29 and explains that Christina's daughter, Kylee, wants to continue with the alternative medicine her mother was using to treat her.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Christina Dixon, the mother of an Oregon girl caught in a medical custody battle, turned herself in to police overnight, KGW's Kyle Iboshi reports.

Dixon is being held at the Clackamas County jail on charges of custodial interference and criminal mistreatment.

Kylee Dixon, Christina Dixon's 13-year-old daughter, has liver cancer. A doctor ordered a prescribed treatment of chemotheraphy and surgery, but Christina Dixon refused the orders and turned to alternative medicine.

Dixon told KGW she believed an alternative treatment of vitamins, herbs and pure CBD oil had been effective in treating Kylee's cancer. Without full access to Kylee's full medical records, KGW was unable to independently verify the claim.

On June 7, the Clackamas County Circuit Court issued a pickup order for 13-year-old Kylee Dixon to be placed in the custody of the Oregon Department of Human Services, the state child welfare agency.

On June 10, the Wilsonville Police Department sent out an advisory asking for the public's help in finding Kylee, who was believed to be with her mother. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office issued a bulletin titled, "MISSING/ENDANGERED JUVENILE," with a photo of Kylee and her mother and a description of the car they might be driving.

Police in Nevada received a tip from the FBI and sheriff's office on June 13 that Kylee and her mother were at a hotel in Las Vegas. Kylee was taken into protective custody and transferred back to Oregon.

Dixon wasn't arrested at the time. A warrant was later issued for her arrest for charges of criminal mistreatment and custodial interference, according to Catherine Terwilliger, an attorney with the Oregon Department of Justice.

In late July, a Clackamas County Circuit Court judge ruled that state child welfare workers can make decisions for Kylee despite her mother's opposition to chemotherapy and surgery.

Parental rights advocates and family of Christina believe the state went too far by removing Kylee from her mother's care. Supporters call the state's decision to take custody of Kylee "medical kidnapping."

So she is not cured of the cancer and still has a liver tumor. Hard to get that reading these reports.

Like many of these stories they try to hide the fact she underwent chemo for 6 months to get the tumor down to the level surgeons would operate. Surgeons won't operate if there is a chance through chemo a large tumor can be reduced. Surgeons will also refuse to operate to remove lobes and small tumors in certain areas if chemo is doing the job. Trust me.

So as I read it, the child underwent chemo for six months, it was working to the point surgeons would operate. This parent may just have setback her daughters cure.
