House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday blasted President Trump’s push for a citizenship question on the 2020 census as an effort to “Make America White Again” — claiming, “it’s not what our founders had in mind.”
“They want to make sure that people, certain people, are counted,” Pelosi said at a press conference in San Francisco that focused on election security.
“Just their people vote and not the general population,” said the Democratic lawmaker. “That’s why they’re fighting the census.”
White House officials did not immediately return requests for comment from The Post on the statements.
Pelosi, who was visiting her home district Monday, repeatedly called the idea of adding a citizenship question to next year’s survey “disgraceful.”
“This is about keeping — you know … his hat — Make America White Again,” she said.
The Trump administration has said the proposed citizenship question would help the government enforce the Voting Rights Act, which protects minority voters’ access to the ballot box.

According to Pelosi, what they really want to do “is put a chilling effect so certain populations will not answer the form.”

The Justice Department has appointed a new team of Civil Division lawyers to handle all census-related cases, including Trump’s push for the census update.

My current theory is that Trump took a dive on the House in '18 and let the 'Rats have it - now they've got a head of steam and are drunk on impotent "power", so they're showing their butts and allowing truly-dumb assholes to drive the bus. In their impotent rage, the 'Rats somehow think this will attract support.
This will bring about the demise of the 'Rat party, God willing.

14th Amendment, Section 2
Section 2.Representatives shall be apportioned among the several states according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each state, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the executive and judicial officers of a state, or the members of the legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such state, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such state.
Subsequent amedment appears to make this now applicable to female, as well as male, citizen inhabitants of each state.
Should the occasion arise, and the representation of a "state shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male [and female] citizens shall bear to the whole number of male [and female] citizens twenty-one years of age in such state," how does Nancy propose to determine the proportion of denied citizen inhabitants to the whole number of citizen inhabitants, without knowing the whole number of citizen inhabitants of the state?
The Constitution appears to necessitate a census that determines the whole number of citizen inhabitants of each state.
