We wouldnt put up a fight if someone wanted to convince us that Robert De Niro was one of the most talented actors of his generation.
We arent going to burn our copies of The Godfather, Part II, Heat, Taxi Driver, or even Meet the Parents anytime soon. The guy is a living legend when it comes to his silver screen performances.
But when it comes to his politics, the dude is just another dumb liberal who thinks that its an act of heroism to bash Donald Trump. In fact, hes so dumb and self-involved that he thinks playing Robert Mueller on Saturday Night Live is a really important and brave form of political activism.
Does anyone ever tell these Hollywood emperors that they arent wearing any clothes? We suppose not.
From the Hollywood Reporter:
The actor and co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival talks taking aim at Trump on SNL, telling The Hollywood Reporter that it feels like a form of activism.
Robert De Niros impressions of special counsel Robert Mueller on Saturday Night Live are meant to be funny, but the actor also sees his politically charged skits on NBCs long-running comedy series as a form of activism.
In a recent Hollywood Reporter In Studio interview, De Niro a vocal critic of President Donald Trump said that the appearances on SNL feel like his civic duty.
I consider it my civic duty to do that part just to be there because [Mueller] doesnt say much, but he doesnt have to. Its that simple, said the star, who added that he still has hopes that the president will serve jail time for suspected collusion with Russia in the 2016 election. I might even be happier the day that Mueller puts him in handcuffs, takes him in an orange jumpsuit and puts him away for a long time.
Guess you didnt get the message, Bob. Your version of Mueller on SNL may someday lead Alec Baldwin away in handcuffs, but back here in the real world, the special counsel has already told us that there was, say it with us, NO COLLUSION.
Ooh, that sweet burn of justice.
By the way, as great an actor as De Niro is, he bites the big one on SNL. Maybe if he looked at his job as one where the goal is to make people laugh rather than do civic activism, hed be better at it.

Go away Old Fart you're causing Gorebal Warming!
Doesn't De Niro understand it was his "civic duty" to support his out-of- wedlock son during his formative years, instead of waiting until it became an embarrassment to him as a dead-beat father?
Can De Nero explain his court record as a purveyor of adolescent girls for sex?
Is De Nero still outraged because POTUS Trump refuses to instruct FEMA to repair Hurricane Maria's extensive damage to his US Virgin Island, luxurious home at American taxpayer expense?
Is De Nero upset because his recently opened restaurant is flopping? As did his recent film?
This clown has laid more bombs than were dropped in WWII.
