President Donald Trump’s "Make America Great Again" rally in Grand Rapids tomorrow night will be his first major appearance since the summary of the Mueller investigation reportedly cleared the president and his campaign of colluding with Russia. Trump supporters are more amped up than ever as Executive Director of the Kent County GOP told FOX 17 that news of the conclusions of the Mueller investigation will fuel an already energetic crowd at the rally. Meanwhile, Michigan Democrats in Congress aren't as quick to say that the investigation is actually over. They want the full Mueller report and its underlying documents to be made public. The rally will be held at Van Andel Arena at 7:00 pm Thursday. Trump came to Michigan several times during his run in the 2016 election. He won all but eight counties in 2016. Muskegon and Kalamazoo counties were the only two counties in West Michigan won by Democrat Hillary Clinton. Poster Comment: Will President Trump be sucking up to Justin Amash trying to get his endorsement, or will he blast Amash and endorse some lightweight mainstream GOP neocon replacement? Stay tuned to the Grand Rapids Rally for further developments. #2. To: buckeroo (#1) You have just become the 'official chit-chat channel' representative... Hey! What about me?
#3. To: hondo68 (#0) Trump isn't thinking of Amash at all, let alone an endorsement from him. I saw this at fivethirtyeight.com today:
Yet Rand Paul has a very good relationship with Trump, plays golf with him, etc.
#4. To: Tooconservative (#3) Amash backed the president’s position just 54 percent of the time in 2017-2018, putting him behind all but one Republican and also behind some House Democrats... All Justin has to do is listen to the Trump speech and come up with a good zinger rebuttal tweet, and he's golden. The more Trump slams him, the more the voters will like him. Donnell is the gift that keeps on giving. ![]() #5. To: hondo68 (#4) I think Amash is fine with the voters in his district. His Tea Party bona fides and libertarian leanings are all priced into his brand. Likewise, so are Donald's. So a lot of voters in Amash's district will be content to vote for both Amash and Trump in 2020. And that is all fine with Trump, I think. I think Trump actually respects Amash and Rand, both strong Tea Party libertarian types, much more than he does with the GOP establishment types. And, like Trump, they are both unafraid to take a stand on principle even if it costs them in the short term. As compared to, say, McConnell who is all about the politics of it. Trump sees the GOPe as largely unprincipled and cowardly but he likely sees Amash/Paul as principled/bold. And Trump identifies with those qualities himself so it isn't hard to understand why Trump goes easy on them even if they vote against him on some bill.
#6. To: hondo68 (#0) "Will President Trump be sucking up to Justin Amash " Amash will be sucking up to Trunp for his next go-round.
#7. To: WWG1WWA (#6) Amash will be sucking up to Trunp for his next go-round. I agree. Have you noticed some MSM are now surrendering and acknowledged the "NO COLLUSION" Russian Hoax verdict publicly? I think they see the handwriting on the Wall that there's a good chance Trump wins re-election. (IF he runs again, which I personally doubt.) IF Trump does win, heads *should* finally roll. If they don't, we'll know with 100% certainty that the Coup was in fact successful; And whether institutions such as "Presidency" and "USCON" were validated as just Bigly Theater. We'll also find out with certainty whether USA was actually indeed acquired/hijacked by the Ruling Class in another not-so-quiet corporate takeover in 2016.
#8. To: Liberator, Russiagate Leader, Trump (#7) (Edited) Have you forgotten that early in his administration 2017, Trump signed onto sanctions against Russia for election meddling? Trump is leading the Russiagate coup against himself. The best way to control it, is to lead it. It's a scam to rally the Trumpkins to support his hiring of Americas Worst, recycled bushbot neocons like Barr (GHW Bush), Bolton, Abrhams & Kavanaugh, and MANY more. ![]() #9. To: hondo68 (#8) Have you forgotten that early in his administration 2017, Trump signed onto sanctions against Russia for election meddling? Come on, hondo. You don't recognize political gamesmenship when you see it? Uh, yeah. "Early 2017" was when Sessions bailed out on Trump, and the Coup began tearing through Trump admin personnel appointments. They *almost* ousted Trump. He was coerced into that dopey sanctions deal lest he be accused of FURTHER "collusion" by delusional people like you. Trump is leading the Russiagate coup against himself. The best way to control it, is to lead it. Seriously. Stop cruising HuffPo, Slate, and other Never-Trumper hate-sites. They are mind-control quick sand. It's a scam to rally the Trumpkins to support his hiring of Americas Worst, recycled bushbot neocons like Barr (GHW Bush), Bolton, Abrhams & Kavanaugh, and MANY more. Its best to re-focus your attention and vast energy.
#10. To: Liberator (#9) (Edited) Donald & Ratchel Maddow are on the same page, crippling sanctions against Russia. And you're with them in their coup against America! ![]() Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest |
