Other Title: *Observations, Retrospectives & Opinions Wanted* (Regarding Life in general since 9/11) I am submitting some questions and challenges to posters. As well as additional food for thought. Weigh in if you'd like. Or not. Most of you have indeed been observing and commenting on events, politics, and the culture in real time since at least 9/11. Some of you since the late 1990s. Many of you have done so on a daily basis or close to it. Then others on a weekly or month basis. If you haven't exactly weighed in at one forum or another, you have lurked or currently lurk. The point: As a result of the internet and instant news/opinion access, most of you have been able to closely monitor what no other generation in history has been able to do. Some may have found this a curse OR a blessing.
Given the great amount of time spent watching what others have discovered, reported, or opined on, do you feel it's all been worth your time?
Are you still searching for what you seek? Or is it an ongoing process? Has your quest been purely informational or knowledge-based? Have you been seeking the truth on any number of quests? Do you feel you've been rewarded by your diligence? More confused? Become more determined? Though few may find the following arguable, the vast majority sentient people must concede as a consensus three major events in modern American history. 1) 9/11 2) The Election of Barack Hussein Obama 3) The Election of Donald J. Trump I believe it is also a given that all three major events have drastically shaken America to the core (as well as the world) and dramatically altered the personal, group and national philosophy, perspective, and understanding of all. What do these three events all have in common? (Or do or don't they?) What changes and to what degree has each seminal event changed America? The world? (Or am I presumptuous?) In your opinion, how would you assess the current status of our culture? Is it evolving? Steering in the right direction? Remained fairly static? Devolving? What do you believe be the most beneficial or encouraging thing about the first (almost)20 years of the 21st century? The most detrimental or worst? Upon reflection of almost two decades of time since 9/11 -- along with the addition of related events -- has your understanding and meaning of and for this world exceeded your expectations? Has it disappointed you? OR...Have you perceived and accepted most events as pretty much, "IS IT WHAT IT IS"? I am also asking for your respective projection or predictions of the future, good or bad. If you are so inclined, add *your* ideal vision for the USA and world.
Thank you for your $.02. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top • Page Up • Full Thread • Page Down • Bottom/Latest I have often wondered about you as you are prolific poster. I don't think I have seen a post from you since 2016. What has happened to you in life? Best regards, buckeroo
#2. To: Liberator (#0) 1) 9/11 1) 9/11... no change. Maybe some subtle things like taking longer to get through an airport. It never effected my investments, as I was invested in a pension. 2) The potato... this scumbag invoked racial tensions with his obvious affirmative action ideologies. He placed people in important jobs based on color and sex. He was loud and proud with race baiting statements and actions. I point that out because it’s what he mostly left behind. Trump reversed most of his damage... but the reverse racist upheaval the potato caused, grew even larger as the reverse racist charged sheeple were unable to tolerate change back to FAIR, January 2017. 3) Trump... he speaks freely in a time of intolerance to speech and opinion. Aside from the economic boosts, his best contribution will be to slow the impending socialist down. Can you imagine where we’d be if Hitlery won... then the extreme socialist take center stage in 2020. The USSC appointments were icing on the cake. I'm the infidel... Allah warned you about. كافر المسلح #3. To: Liberator (#0) (Edited) 1) 9/11 IMO that's really just 1 event, the D&R party push for a NWO. Dubya/Obama/Trump are just a continuation of the Poppy Bush presidency, but lets not leave out Slick Willie. No change of direction, but a HUGE dog & pony show of partisan BS. All are global interventionist, open borders, Israel First, Nanny Police State, Federal Reserve Ponzi Scheme con artists, IOW America's Worst. A turn for the worse was Dick & Liz Cheney's Alliance for a Strong America, aka The Neocon Revival of 2014....
The Alliance for A Strong America Well, that's my Executive Summary on the Rise Of The Deep State ![]() #4. To: hondo68 (#3) A turn for the worse was Dick & Liz Cheney's Alliance for a Strong America, aka The Neocon Revival of 2014.... They did manage to get Virginia resident Liz Cheney carpet-bagged into a House seat in Wyoming. Now the neocons shiver in delight when she confronts the Lefties in some petty political kerfuffle. This is a concerted neocon effort by the Bushies and the last neocons like the Kagans and Max Boot, aimed at putting Liz Cheney into a WY Senate seat at the first real opportunity, like an open seat in an upcoming WY GOP Senate race.
#5. To: buckeroo (#1) Thank you for your concern and regard, Buck.
#6. To: GrandIsland (#2) Thanks for responding and for your respective, GI...
#7. To: hondo68 (#3) IMO that's really just 1 event, the D&R party push for a NWO. Interesting take. In a way it IS part and parcel of one connected event. You're looking at most of The Big Picture. What of the change in culture?
#8. To: hondo68, TooConservative (#3) Hondo: A turn for the worse was Dick & Liz Cheney's Alliance for a Strong America, aka The Neocon Revival of 2014.... In the course of 18 years? IMO a very minor misdirection and sideshow. TC, do you have an opinion or overview of the after-effects of the aforementioned three political events?
#9. To: Liberator (#8) The neocons are NeverTrumper types, trying for a return to leadership. But allying with Dems, like Kristol and others, and urging GOP voters to elect Dems in 2016 and then blatantly in 2018 has discredited the NeverTrumpers almost entirely. Funding got pulled from Weekly Standard and it collapsed. Now Jonah Goldberg is choosing to spend more time with his family and re-launching his career. There have been demands for the ouster of David French at NRO as well. So the neocon establishment GOP media figures are in trouble. And they get few, if any, slots booked on FNC's evening opinion shows, once a mainstay for them in terms of PR and reach into a broader audience.
