President Trump on Wednesday took aim at the press, accusing members of the media of working with Democrats and dubbing it the "Opposition Party."
"The Mainstream Media has NEVER been more dishonest than it is now. NBC and MSNBC are going Crazy," Trump tweeted late Wednesday night. "They report stories, purposely, the exact opposite of the facts. They are truly the Opposition Party working with the Dems."
The tweet came hours after Trump held a meeting with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D- Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) amid the ongoing partial government shutdown.
Trump abruptly left the White House negotiating session with congressional Democrats, which came on the 19th day of the shutdown.
Trump, in a follow-up tweet, accused the press of going "totally bonkers."
"Who would believe how bad it has gotten with the mainstream media, which has gone totally bonkers!" he wrote. The president has had a contentious relationship with the press since the campaign trail.
Trump has battled Democrats in Congress for weeks over funding for a border wall, which is at the center of the partial shutdown. The White House has stated funding for the U.S.Mexico border wall must be included in any spending bill.
Trump is set to visit the border on Thursday where the president is slated to meet with those on the frontlines of the immigration issue, according to White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Roughly one-fourth of the federal government shut down on Dec. 22 amid an impasse between the White House and lawmakers over Trump's demand for $5.7 billion in border wall funding. Democrats moved ahead this week with votes on spending bills to reopen individual government agencies, though the White House has threatened to veto them.

Only three or four newspapers in America are truly Conservative. The rest are groveling ass kissing leftists who seemingly love socialism, but when the genuine article is foisted upon them they'll cry like the little girls they truly are.
