LEFT WING LOONS Title: Trump walks out of border security meeting after Pelosi rejects wall pitch President Trump walked out of a White House meeting with congressional leaders Wednesday afternoon over the partial government shutdown after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi again rejected supporting new funding for a border wall, according to those in the meeting. Speaking to reporters after the brief session, New York Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, said the “president just got up and walked out." The president, in a tweet, called the meeting “a total waste of time” and appeared to confirm that he left after Pelosi's answer. “I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!” Trump tweeted. The meeting in the Situation Room Wednesday afternoon came ahead of Trump’s planned trip to the southern Texas border on Thursday. Earlier, the president traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with Senate Republicans, saying afterward, “We have a very unified party.” A partial US government shutdown began at midnight on Dec. 22, 2018,. when a funding agreement between the Congress and President Trump could not be reached. Still, a growing number of Republicans appear uncomfortable with the toll the partial shutdown is taking. Trump has said he might declare a national emergency and try to authorize the wall on his own if Congress won't approve the $5.7 billion he's asking. "I think we might work a deal, and if we don't I might go that route," he said. TRUMP SAYS HE HAS 'ABSOLUTE RIGHT' TO DECLARE NATIONAL EMERGENCY OVER BORDER SECURITY Past meetings with Democrats have resulted in both sides digging in, with Trump insisting on nearly $6 billion for a border wall and Democrats saying they won’t entertain the discussion until Congress passes and Trump signs a package re-opening shuttered federal agencies. The president’s primetime address on Tuesday night saw both camps drifting even further apart, with Trump declaring a “humanitarian and security crisis" and vowing to protect America, “so help me God” – and Democratic congressional leaders saying Trump is working to “manufacture a crisis, stoke fear and divert attention from the turmoil in his administration."
Yet Trump told congressional leaders the standoff could last months, even years, as he demands Washington take action to stem the flow of illegal immigrants, drugs and criminals crossing the border. #3. To: IbJensen (#0) Look, the reasoning behind the gridlock is so obvious... and not even Fox News will put the facts out there. Chuckie & Bride of Chuckie wont EVER give in to the wall because they know Trumps 2 year legacy is an economy that’s BOOMING and for the first time, an outsider is FULFILLING campaign promises. They know the WALL was not only his signature promise, but the one promise his voting base wanted. So, they can’t thwart the economy without looking bad... but they know if they can thwart his ability to build this wall will seal the deal to kill a second term. At this point, the main focus from Nancy & Chuck, is to ensure Trump is only a one term president. So basically, the filthy libtard SCUM know it’s the will of the country to build a fucking wall, but the (D)’s will purposely deny the electoral college MAJORITY, what they voted for... for a one term Trump AGENDA. I’ve seen a few minor tactical mistakes from Trump... this was the biggest mistake. Trump should have tackled the wall issue when he had both sides of Gov. I'm the infidel... Allah warned you about. كافر المسلح #4. To: GrandIsland (#3) Trump should have tackled the wall issue when he had both sides of Gov. Agree. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he had a full plate and was busy tweaking China and the EU's cheeks. I still give him and A, especially now that we see the left going wild over their shut down. Shutdowns demonstrate the worthlessness of a costly and burdensome central socialist government. Liberals are like Slinkys. They're good for nothing, but somehow they bring a smile to your face as you shove them down the stairs. #5. To: paraclete (#2) Is that even possible Unfortunately, no. Liberals are like Slinkys. They're good for nothing, but somehow they bring a smile to your face as you shove them down the stairs. #6. To: Pinguinite (#1) America will have to rely on gridlock to keep from falling into full blown communism. True Americans need to join Trump in fighting for the life of this nation. Perhaps a third Trump party would drain enough Conservatives out of the Republicrat Party to form one that could turn this nation from the jaws of the gluttonous left. Liberals are like Slinkys. They're good for nothing, but somehow they bring a smile to your face as you shove them down the stairs. #7. To: GrandIsland (#3) Trump should have tackled the wall issue when he had both sides of Gov. Yes, though he didn't have 60 senators to block a filibuster in the Senate.
#8. To: IbJensen (#6) America will have to rely on gridlock to keep from falling into full blown communism. America is not going to fall into communism. It is far from communism and doesn't even approach socialism however some adjustment is needed if it is going to realise the aspirations of at least half the nation.
