Well, the big thing in the news is the caravan of " invaders " from the south, heading for our southern border.
There is much speculation about Who is financing them, what their true objective is, and how we are to stop them ? There is little doubt that if this bunch gets in, there will be more to follow. This will put a severe drain on the US Taxpayers !!
What does everyone here think should be done to stop them ? On other boards I have seen many proposals, from sending cops to intercept, to landmines & barbed wire, to A-10 strafing, to line up Infantry Divisions to open fire! Even saw where one person suggested carpet bomb the border area with B-52's.
Would really like to see what the LF'ers think. To preserve our Republic, they have to be stopped. But the question is HOW ??

The caravan is not armed. We must not be shooting these people.
Really easy to keep them out of the country, though. Have the helos in the sky to watch, and deploy Border Patrol and National Guard, as necessary, at the Border to arrest whoever comes across. Set up detention camps for those who get across, process them and send them back.

Shoot them with non-lethal laser cannon until they turn about and leave.
Greet them with a wall of malodorant, stinky stuff.
Set up detention camps for those who get across, process them and send them back.
Keep them off U.S. soil or liberal judges will make them permanent residents. The President has the statutory authority to close the border. Close it and tell Mexico the border will not be reopened until Mexico fixes its problem.

a few thousand people send you into a spin, why? and Trump wants to withdraw aid from those countries, surely this is unhelpful? Trump wants to build a wall, it would be cheaper to build it on the southern Mexican border, maybe then the Mexicans would stop sending their people north.
This is a problem of failed economies, of poverty and corruption and taking action against the people won't solve the problem, only prosperity will solve the problem

Simple. If this group is successful, there will be more. This group is 4 to 5,000. We could see many, many similar sized groups of invaders invading the southern border into our country. I’d say snipe a few every 15 to 25 miles. After you drop 100 of those smelly 3rd world shitbags, they’ll get the hint to turn the F’ around.

Dispatch about 25,000 to 50,000 regular armed forces troops to greet them. Include lots of Military Police. Distribute lots of zip ties. Hobble them and let them walk back out of the neutral zone. If they so choose, let them sit there, provide nothing and stop their forward progress.
Rubber bullets also work to give an attitude adjustment. They are meant to be shot at the ankles or lower legs and then pinball about.
A strong enough military force can stop a caravan of civilians. If they choose to take on the military, they will be informed they have made a mistake.

I understand that you don't want more immigrants but it will stop at the US border, until then, it isn't your business. The problem belongs to Mexico, who, if they haven't got the good sense to close their border will have to feed and house these people.
There are millions of displaced people in the world and you worry about a few thousand, help out by creating a camp for them in Mexico.
The problem is how to stop people crossing the US border illegally. The answer; disincentivise them, you do this by having laws which will not allow them to stay, immediate imprisonment and deportation. For this you need the cooperation of other countries, and this may cost you some money

The border area where they eventually reach the USA, if they do, should be formally closed by the US military. Tear gas should be used as long as they are there. That's it.

There's not much hope for that. The caravan goes a little further and then they board the cargo trains (La Bestia or The Beast). That's the one where they are seen riding on the roof.
Unless the Mexicans remove them from the train, or just stop the train, they will get to the border on or shortly before election day, as their sponsors choose.
