As a libertarian who has volunteered--and voted--fer local Libertarian candidates in the past, I can say these three issues are exactly the ones that I have a disagreement about. Here's my philosophy on each...
Abortion...the Right of a woman to do with one's body as she pleases is at the basis of libertarianism...fer instance, if my young daughter was raped and impregnated, I would want to preserve the right to abort the pregnancy. Every woman should have this right, imho. However, at some point during the pregnancy, the unborn child has rights that must be protected as well. If a fetus is viable and can live outside the womb, imho, there is no way we should allow the unborn child to be exterminated. In my view, States should decide at what point in the pregnancy the Rights of the fetus supercede those of the mother's right to terminate her unwanted pregnancy.
Foreign Policy...while I'm all for avoiding foreign entanglements, I believe the Libertarian Party's position is IGNORANT of the fact that our borders are no longer safe from random attacks by the forces of Oppression and Tyranny, and sometimes the prudent thing is to take the fight to our enemies. Harry Browne's rantings of a few years ago on this issue were enough to turn me off of the Libertarian Party to this day.
Immigration...the Libertarian Party's open borders policy is simply ludicrous...how the heck can America hope to accomplish a libertarian future if we are continually taking on the burden of every would-be immigrant who prefers to take advantage of the bounty that Americans have earned? To think we could absorb everyone who wants to become Americans is just plain silly!!

However, scientific evidence clearly defined human life begins at conception. There is a distinct separate human being at the time of conception with their own DNA.

Do NOT disagree one iota, my friend, oh Great Hunter of Redlegs. I was giving the Libertarian argument, but I have NEVER voted for a Libertarian for POTUS, just local and State offices. I am "self-identifying" as a RadicalRightWingWacko (aka RRWW aka R-squared, W-squared) and a RABID Right2Lifer HOO agrees that Life begins at Conception. That said, let's say a 12-year-old daughter is incestuously-RAPED by her alcoholic, AIDS-ridden biological father, a la that RAT-freeeak Craster on Game of Thrones...if that Victim of Incest decided to abort the absolutely-INNOCENT LIFE in the first month or two after the RAPE, I'd understand the reasoning behind such a decision.

Once again, my friend, I do NOT really disagree with your very sound reasoning, but I do believe both the Victim of Rape AND the INNOCENT Unborn Child have rights in this instance, and it should be up to the individual States/Commonwealths to decide at what point the child's right to life TRUMPS the mother's right to do with her body as she will. I realize it's a very tough issue to reach a compromise on, but there's gotta be a better solution than the OBVIOUSLY un-CONSTITUTIONAL Roe v. Wade.

"Howdy, y'all...been pretty busy lately and haven't had much time to hang out on the Forums. Gotta tell you a story, though...today I took off a half day and went a played in a golf tourney at the Royal New Kent Club in New Kent, VA. Very tough "link-style" course where they've held some State championships.
Well, it was a shotgun start and we started on the 7th tee and despite it being Captain's Choice, the course was whuppin' our butts. I musta lost 4-5 balls in the high grass that bordered every fairway...plus, it apparently got up to 99 and there was no shade in sight...it was brutal. Anyway, our last hole--#6-- is handicapped as the hardest hole on the course, a 347 yard Par 4 with a mammoth bunker up the left side. My driver was not an option, so I hit a 2- iron off the tee and it rolled maybe 190 yards, which turned out to be the shot we used. So I hit a 5-iron with my second shot and it goes a little left of the hole maybe 15 feet past the hole then backtracks down slope towards the hole. The green was sorta outta our view, but we were pretty sure we'd have a makeable birdie putt. So we drive our carts up to the green and see no ball. I was sure I was on the dance floor, but no ball. My partners started hollerin' "Eagle!! Eagle!!" but I didn't believe it until I looked in the hole and there it was!!
WOO-HOOO!! My first EAGLE ever...I'll never fergit it...LOL!!
