President Trump gave a rousing denunciation of socialism — in Venezuela and everywhere else — yesterday at the United Nations but his concluding sentence was way off base. At the end of his speech he implored his audience to join in bringing democracy back to Venezuela.
But it was democracy that made Venezuela a socialist hellhole! Venezuela came to democracy late (1958) and every president since then was a bigger Castro-loving communist than his predecessor, ending up with the odious tyrant Hugo Chavez and now his understudy Maduro. What Venezuela needs is economic freedom –– capitalism — not more “democracy.”
Trump has apparently gone full neocon as far as his speech makers are concerned. They tend to be economically illiterate democracy worshippers.

I hear he denounced globalism, which is great.
But if you denounce globalism, why would you also insist that certain US allies not buy things from Russia? Why would you also insist everyone get on board with the US against Iran?
Trump's foreign policy *is* globalism. That's one thing I don't like about him. And he ought to get rid of that idiot John Bolton before he starts WW3.

Trump has already had his first bailout less than 2 years into his presidency, a Wealth Spread bribe to farmers to keep voting R, for the largest farm subsidies. They can now just sit on the couch watching Fox News, and get government handouts like people in the ghetto & barrio do.
