International News Title: Canada Is Inventing a Cannabis Beer That Hits You Harder Than an Edible Canada is light years ahead of us when it comes to being cool about marijuana. First, the entire country legalized the stuff for recreational use, making it only the second nation in the world to do so. Then, it announced measures to make marijuana edibles legal down the road, hopefully by 2019. Now, Canadians will likely be the first to enjoy cannabis beer. Related Stories Canada Just Legalized Marijuana for All Canadians Colorado Is Getting THC Beer The Guardian reports that since marijuana legalization became official for our northern neighbors, brewers are getting serious about making beers with cannabis. Unlike many cannabis beers, which are merely infused with THC and CBD oils, one start-up in particular, called Province Brands, is making beer by actually brewing with the cannabis plant—stalks, stems, and all. It's said to be the first of its kind. It was rough going at first. "The things that we would come up with just tasted horrible," said Dooma Wendschuh, co-founder and CEO of Province Brands. "They tasted like rotten broccoli." Thanks to a little chemistry work, they've developed a beer that he says is "dry, savory, less sweet than a typical beer flavor." It has around 6.5mg of THC and the alcohol removed, so drinkers only have one kind of high to deal with. “The beer hits you very quickly, which is not common for a marijuana edible," said Wendschuh. Here in the States, craft brewers and Big Beer brands alike are getting creative with CBD- and THC-infused beers. Lagunitas, owned by Heineken, just released a THC-infused "sparkling water" called Hi-Fi Hops in California. The guy who invented Blue Moon is working on a non-alcoholic, THC-infused beer in Colorado. But with marijuana legalization moving slowly, the chances of you getting your hands on any cannabis beer product, brewed with cannabis or infused, are slim if you live in a non-legal state. Time to book that trip to Canada.
How long before domestic brewers jump into this? And how crappy is the beer going to taste, compared to what we have now ? Doen't sound like anything I'd try. I could maybe see using just the leaf and buds, but adding all that extra stuff sure won't add to the flavor. If I were to try pot again, it wouldn't be in a beer. “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() Trump: My People Should ‘Sit Up in Attention’ Like Kim Jong-un’s Staff.#2. To: Stoner (#0) Canada Is Inventing a Cannabis Beer That Hits You Harder Than an Edible Because hey, the whole intent of using marijuana is to get high, right? Higher the better.
#3. To: Deckard (#1) Heck, man....judging from your postings, one would naturally think you have been a big marijuana high all this morning. This observation is based on the frequent illogical ramblings you no doubt borrow and rely heavily on from The Libertarian Philosophy Handbook For Idiots….since you are asserting and believing so much unproven garbage in the articles you post.
#4. To: Stoner (#0) Canada is light years ahead of us when it comes to being cool about marijuana. With a juvenile leader like Trudeau who appears to be stoned most of the time, Canada is on the fast track to ruin. Liberals are like Slinkys. They're good for nothing, but somehow they bring a smile to your face as you shove them down the stairs. #5. Judging from your postings, one would naturally think you have been a boot-licking fed.gov worshiper and surveillance state cheerleader your entire adult life. “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() Trump: My People Should ‘Sit Up in Attention’ Like Kim Jong-un’s Staff.#6. #9. To: A K A Stone (#8) (Edited) Is that your best shot? Not at all - but explaining things to a simpleton like you is hardly worth my time. Look - I don't really GAS if you and the other brainfart Gatlin think I use marijuana - I admit, if it becomes legal here I would probably try it again. So please, keep up your childish little posts - I can always use a good laugh. “Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” - Ron Paul![]() Trump: My People Should ‘Sit Up in Attention’ Like Kim Jong-un’s Staff.#10. To: Gatlin (#3) I’ve invested in a few pot companies that are looking to partner with some beer companies for this product. Hopefully, I get rich from the potheads. I'm the infidel... Some personal beliefs are not particularly important in our society. On the other hand, beliefs about some things are of the UTMOST importance. One of these IMPORTANT beliefs is the RULE of LAW. Although you libertarians try not to admit it exists and continually fight adhering to it….the rule of law does exist, and will continue to exist, because enough Americans do believe in it and insist others abide by it. I know that it frosts your ass that even you libertarians non-believers, must behave because it exists. Believing in the rule of law is not worshipping the federal government. So while you continue preaching your message of anarchy in the true libertarian tradition, I will continue to cling to my belief in the rule of law. Knowing that it is probably the single greatest achievement of our society. It is our bulwark standard against both mob rule and the overweening power of the modern state. It is the rule of law that we rely on to govern us, The rule of law protects each one of us when we stand alone against those who disagree with us, or fear us, or do not like us because we are different. It is the strongbox that keeps all of our values safe against all enemies. You libertarians are attempting to seriously injure the rule of law by seeding doubt. But it will survive for those who believe in it must stand up and say -- must say -- I believe in the rule of law and will not accept its being taken away by a bunch of asshole libertarians. I will never believe that “We the People” are so weak, so unimportant, or so frightened that we must give up the rule of law and succumb to libertarianism. I believe that those few of you who try to harm us, and who will do so again, are not so powerful that we must abandon the very thing that makes it worth being an American….the RULE OF LAW. There ..
