Corrupt Government Title: F.B.I. Raids Office of Trump’s Longtime Lawyer Michael Cohen The F.B.I. on Monday raided the office of President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, seizing records related to several topics including payments to a pornographic-film actress. Federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained the search warrant after receiving a referral from the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, according to Mr. Cohen’s lawyer, who called the search “completely inappropriate and unnecessary.” The search does not appear to be directly related to Mr. Mueller’s investigation, but likely resulted from information he had uncovered and gave to prosecutors in New York. “Today the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York executed a series of search warrants and seized the privileged communications between my client, Michael Cohen, and his clients,” said Stephen Ryan, his lawyer. “I have been advised by federal prosecutors that the New York action is, in part, a referral by the Office of Special Counsel, Robert Mueller.” Mr. Cohen plays a role in aspects of the special counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He also recently said he paid $130,000 to a pornographic-film actress, Stephanie Clifford, who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump. Ms. Clifford is known as Stormy Daniels. Mr. Ryan said Mr. Cohen has cooperated with authorities and turned over thousands of documents to congressional investigators looking into Russian election meddling. The payments to Ms. Clifford are only one of many topics being investigated, according to a person briefed on the search. The F.B.I. also seized emails, tax documents and business records, the person said. --------------- But if Hillary Bullshit Felon signs on a witness and co-conspirator to her crimes as her personal attorney, then has her sit in on the fake FBI "interview", well .......... that's not a problem at all. He has the power to fire Sessions, who has the power to fire Rosenstein and Mueller. If it continues to go on, it is because Trump allows it to.
#2. To: Vicomte13 (#1) (Edited) If it continues to go on, it is because Trump allows it to. At this point, yes. The time to fret about how it looks to other politicians has passed - on the face of it, this action looks like malicious harassment completely outside the purview of Mr. Magoo-Mueller. And if Sleepy Jeff Sessions won't do anything about it, then his ass needs to be gone this week. If that doesn't happen then we can justifiably say Trump brought it upon himself and can drop his copyright on "You're Fired!".
Replies to Comment # 2. Simply put, they'll either impeach him for it or they won't. If they do, it is meaningless. Impeachment does not impair a President's legal power or authority, and it may or may not impair his political standing, depending on whom the people side. If the Republicans stand with the President, there is no impeachment, and he wins. If they divide and impeach him, the case goes to the Senate. If there are 67 votes to remove him in the Senate, he's gone. But if not, then once again, there is no impairment of his power at all. Whether his political standing is reduced or not depends on the people. If the people side with the President, Congress gets scoured in the next election. What is more, a Trump facing impeachment over bullshit has the temptation to really USE his power very, very aggressively. Recall that when impeachment was being debated, Bill Clinton launched missiles into somewhere, I think Afghanistan, in what was dubbed by a British MP in a speech before Parliament as "The War of Clinton's Penis". By letting this go on and on, Trump will be doing domestically what is going on in Syria. Essentially, the Syrian regime gases his people, and Putin has warned Trump of "severe consequences" if the US takes military action. Trump should call his domestic enemies' bluff and Putin's bluff - in Syria, the US should launch MOABs at Assad's palace and his hideouts. Kill Assad. Then Russia has two choices, back down, or go to war with the United States. In a conventional war with the US, Russia will be annhilated. So, Putin will have to decide whether or not he is willing to have his own people wiped from the face of the earth in a nuclear war with the US that ends civilization, or lose. Faced with defeat in 1948, Stalin backed down in both Berlin and Iran. Faced with the threat in 1962, Kruschev backed down. Will the Russians REALLY destroy the world over a dead Syrian dictator. No, they won't. They will simply lose and back down. If I were Trump, I would kill Assad and his government with MOABs, and I would end Mueller's business and the FBI investigation of himself now. But I'm not Trump, so we'll see what he will do.

#7. To: Hank Rearden, y'all (#2) on the face of it, this action looks like malicious harassment completely outside the purview of Mr. Magoo-Mueller. The FBI has to be skating on thin ice, messing with attorney/client privilege.. Correct?
