In reaction to reports that Pope Francis has denied the existence of hell, the Vatican has released a carefully worded statement that does not refute the substance of the claims. “The Holy Father Francis recently received the founder of the newspaper La Repubblica in a private meeting for the occasion of Easter, without giving him an interview,” the unsigned March 29 Vatican statement begins. “What is reported by the author in today’s article is the result of his reconstruction, in which the pope’s exact words are not cited. No quotation of the aforementioned article must therefore be considered as a faithful transcription of the Holy Father’s words,” the statement concludes. In other words, the Vatican denies that the article contains a faithful transcription of the pope’s “exact words” without taking issue with the basic content of the conversation. What is interesting is what is not said. The statement does not say that the author’s reconstruction of the conversation is erroneous, and nor does it deny that the pope said that hell does not exist. The media saga began on Wednesday, when La Repubblica printed an article saying that the pope had expressly denied the existence of hell and the immortality of the human soul in a recent conversation with his longtime friend, Eugenio Scalfari, founder of the newspaper. The informal interview between the pope and Scalfari carried the headline: “The Pope: ‘It is an honor to be called a revolutionary.’” Scalfari, an atheist, reportedly asked the pope about his theories regarding creation and eternal life. “Your Holiness, in our previous meeting you told me that our species will disappear in a certain moment and that God, still out of his creative force, will create new species. You have never spoken to me about the souls who died in sin and will go to hell to suffer for eternity. You have, however, spoken to me of good souls, admitted to the contemplation of God. But what about bad souls? Where are they punished?” the paper reports. In response, Pope Francis is quoted as denying hell, in what the Vatican statement has referred to as a “reconstruction” of the conversation between the two men. “They are not punished. Those who repent obtain God’s forgiveness and enter the rank of the souls who contemplate him, but those who do not repent, and cannot therefore be forgiven, disappear. There is no hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls,” the pope is reported as saying. Poster Comment: No "HELL"?? Those who don't repent just..."disappear"?? According to WHAT authority? The Pope again masquerading AS "Pope". This guy is no more a Christian than Richard Dawkins. “The Pope: ‘It is an honor to be called a revolutionary.’” This "Pope" is an antichrist. The Devil is the author of confusion. And that is exactly what this Commie-Atheist Pope is up to. IS it possible the Pope is demon-possessed?? The pro-pedophile Vatican is now exposed for what it's always been: 666-Central, The Beast. It cannot be defended.

I was just about to post a similar story - for sure he is an antichrist, not the "Anti-Christ". He's a false prophet who with this latest blasphemous statement will deliberately lead millions to ignore the reality of hell. Antipope Bergoglio is not now and never has been the Pope because of Pope Benedict XVI’s INVALID RESIGNATION, made in the SUBSTANTIALLY ERRONEOUS belief that Pope Benedict could fundamentally transform the papacy by bifurcating and expanding the Petrine Office into a “synodal, collegial” office, containing both “active” and “contemplative” participants. Wrong. And thus per Canon 188, Pope Benedict never ceased being the Pope, BY THE LAW ITSELF, and is the one and only living Pope to this day. Antipope Bergoglio’s heresy is a CONFIRMING DATASET, but it is NOT germane to the question of Pope Benedict’s invalid attempted abdication, which predated the Bergoglian Antipapacy by fully two weeks. ANTIPOPE BERGOGLIO CAN’T BE DEPOSED, BECAUSE HE DOES NOT OCCUPY THE PETRINE SEE. Only a person who is validly occupying a given office can be deposed from said office. They only path forward IN TRUTH is that Antipope Bergoglio be PUBLICLY ACKNOWLEDGED AS AN ANTIPOPE, AND SENT PACKING ACCORDINGLY. If this is done while Pope Benedict XVI is still living, NO CONCLAVE CAN BE CALLED, BECAUSE IF POPE BENEDICT IS ALIVE, AND HAS NOT VALIDLY RESIGNED, THEN THE SEE IS OCCUPIED, AND IT IS THEREFORE ONTOLOGICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO ELECT A POPE – ONLY ANOTHER ANTIPOPE. Do we not realize that these whispers and assumptions of soul annihilation are the Serpent in the Garden whispering, “No, you shall not die the death….” Do we deny the existence of hell in order to acquire or maintain HUMAN RESPECT? Do we stay silent on hell in order to maintain earthly relationships and avoid all possibility of “uncomfortable conversations”? The truth is, ONE OF THE BEST THINGS YOU CAN DO FOR YOURSELF AND OTHERS IS THINK ABOUT AND PREACH HELL. Further, the existence of hell and eternal damnation is a proofset of God’s love and RESPECT for us. If God didn’t really love us, if He didn’t respect us AS RATIONAL INTELLECTS that are free to choose our actions, then soul annihilation is EXACTLY what He would do. The fact is that the “god” Antipope Bergoglio is describing is a being DEVOID OF LOVE, who has less than zero respect for humanity. Antipope Bergoglio is trying to convince the world that satan is God, and that satan in his “mercy” will just snuff you out of existence if “things don’t work out”. No harm, no foul. If God just started snuffing beings out of existence when they made a choice that wasn’t in accord with His will, wouldn’t that cheapen all life and existence to the point of meaninglessness? Wouldn’t all rational beings just be mere object-playthings at that point? Our Lord spoke early and often of hell and eternal damnation in the Gospels. If there is no hell, then Christ was either mistaken or a liar. Either way, according to Antipope Bergoglio, Jesus Christ is NOT God. And thus, if Jesus is not God, then we are not saved, and The Church is an ontological joke and needs to be removed from the face of the earth. Or, perhaps REPLACED…. After all, it would be a shame to not keep all of that real estate, fundraising capability and political power under one roof.

The sad part is that most Romanists take any pronouncement from the Pope as equal to the Word of God. Yes. And we know what that means: Fake Pope Begoglio is converting these traditional by-the-book Romanists into Atheists or pseudo-Christian Cultists. He is doing the Devil's Work and Recruitment. Not really. Popes, like bishops and priests, have their own private religious opinions. Unless the pope actually promulgates something as official Roman doctrine, the average Catholic doesn't care that much what his private opinions are or how he governs the Vatican generally.
I disagree with what the Pope is said to have said on this, based on my belief that what is recorded in the Gospels is what Jesus really said and meant. Souls that die in unforgiven sin descend into Gehenna, where they remain until the last penny of debt for the sin in paid, or the end of the world. When the end of the world comes, all spirits of the dead are reunited with bodies - this is the resurrection. A spirit in a body is a "soul". Then, all souls are judged. Those that pass, proceed into the City of God, which will have come down from the heavens. Those who fail are thrown bodily into the Lake of Fire, where they are burnt up in the second death. Now, the second death COULD involve the utter extinction of the spirit along with the complete destruction of the body: all burnt up, gone. Or it could be a description of endless frying in the fire. I personally thing that complete destruction and annihilation of the soul - body and spirit both - are what the text SAYS, so that's what I think is the case. The Pope seems to have gotten there, but without judgment, and without Gehenna. Because God is, and Jesus' imprint is miraculously on the Shroud, I think that my understanding of the final disposition of souls is better than the Pope's, on this particular matter - that is IF the Pope really said what is attributed to him (which I rather doubt).
