New revelations have surfaced in a drug scandal case festering at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, involving a criminal ring of about ten midshipmen, according to Fox News.

The United States Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) was briefed on the illegal activity three months ago when a fellow midshipman contacted authorities about a rogue group of midshipmen selling drugs on campus.

Current reports estimate ten midshipmen were part of the elaborate scheme to supply midshipmen throughout the Naval Academy with powerful drugs including cocaine, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), and Ketamine. Fox News specifies the criminal ring used Bitcoins to purchase the drugs on the dark web then distributed the product throughout campus.

Sources from within the academy tell Fox News that roughly two-dozen midshipmen are under investigation. No formal or pending charges have been brought against any midshipmen as the investigation expands.

Seems like there was a major cheating scandal and also a case of PC officers assigned there giving high grades to cadets that didn't deserve them,too.

Or maybe even selling passing grades. I didn't pay that much attention because I expected it from the beginning,and that was a couple of years ago.

This is the kind of crap you have to expect with you base admissions on demographics instead of excellence,

The 10 is only 0.25 percent. The entry screening will never be perfect. But fortunately the bad ones and the weak ones are usually culled by graduation day. The attrition rate at the Naval Academy was 14 percent last year.

So from the Naval Academy, America wound up last year with 768 Navy ensigns, 259 Marine Corps second lieutenants and two interservice commissions into the U.S. Air Force.

You go, Navy ...

10 out of what, 4,000 or so? Pretty small percentage, I'd say.

Many years ago, I worked in a corporate HQ. One of the secondary poobahs in the engineering section was a high-flying West Point graduate. Socially adept, handsome, athletic. About half of the women swooned over him, the other half didn't like him. The men all hated him for being a sneaky backstabbing weasel. And everyone seemed quite happy when one day, he got fired over something that seemed quite minor. (I had full access to the most confidential files they held so I did know the cause for firing him, at least what they wrote on paper.) So the military didn't keep him around and neither did corporate America.

I imagine that West Point has its fair share of weasels and assholes, like most any other place. And the job of the officer corps is to keep the worst ones from advancing through the ranks.

Yup,and traditionally,they have been "legacy cadets". Their fathers or grandfathers were flag rank officers.

And the job of the officer corps is to keep the worst ones from advancing through the ranks.

The one example I know about was a Captain I had the misfortune to meet that was a sadistic sociopath that was totally unfit for any kind of command position. He would hand out Article 15's to privates that didn't have a shirt pocket buttoned,and would try to court-martial people for being 1 day AWOL. One of h is favorite tricks was to sit in his air-conditioned office smoking cigars,and when he would see someone walking across the street from the motor pool to the barracks,he would wait for them to get close and then open the door and throw the cigar down on the street and order them to pick it up and dispose of it.

EVERYBODY in the company had nothing but total contempt for him,including the platoon leaders and the XO.

He knew it,too. The company deployed twice while I was assigned to it,and he stayed back at Bragg both times and sent his XO to command in his absence.

I tell you true,if he had ever deployed to a hazardous zone with a troop command,he would have been dead within a week.

How the army handled that was they released him from his command and sent him to JAG school,with a delay for him to get a law degree. It was a fit for everybody. Nobody could ever hope to get a more viscous and determined prosecutor,and he would never have a troop command position again.

I suppose they did something similar with other "legacies". There weren't that many of them and it was easy to find places for them where they couldn't do much harm. Now there are just too many AA people in uniforms to find places to put them where they would be harmless.

That was in response to a FAKE hate crime.

Elite athletes won't go to school at the academies if they can't go play afterwards, and the attention they draw to the academy - including the alumni goodwill and contributions that come from playing great games, and the general goodwill of the public, more than pays for the cost of one academy education - in the estimation of the senior military personnel making the decision.

You obviously don't agree with their assessment. It seems to outrage you.

I do agree with their assessment, and regard it with a shoulder shrug. The Navy is not finding it hard to fill officer ranks, and every one of these pro- athletes who has come through there has generated a lot more publicity and alumni excitement - and contributions - than regular graduates. You use your assets in a way that best favors the Navy, and that may include letting some of them go a bit early in order to reap greater advantages for the academy than simply forcing some individual to be another drone.

I don't care about Pol Pot. When he was doing whatever he did I wasn't even 10 years old. It's weird that, with all of the relevant things going on in the world right here, right now, things that matter to us here in America, you're obsessed with something Pol Pot did in a far away country nearly a half century ago. It's weird.

Pol Pot happened, at some point in his life, to have lived in the same city I did, and have attended the same university I did - which merely happens to be the largest and most renown university in France (and so therefore the likely place that ANY foreign person seeking a degree would go - same reason I was there). To you this is a BIG DEAL. An object of obsession. Of all of the things to focus on. It's weird.

I do not have delusions of having raised anything from the dead. As a matter of objective fact God raised two small dead animals, a baby mouse and an anole lizard, from the dead, in my hands. He healed my broken neck and paralysis and saved me from drowning at the bottom of a lake alone as a kid when I ran down the dock, dove in headfirst and broke my neck on the too shallow bottom. He grabbed my face and my arm out of the air and talked to me. He flew a bird into my face to drive off a demon. And in myriad other ways he has been good to me (even though I don't think I deserve it) and demonstrated his presence through communication, through miracle, and through fantastic good fortune. That's WHY I believe in God as God, as opposed to the forces of nature as God.

These are facts. They originally each came up in the context of specific conversations over many years on this site, about God and faith and proof and belief, and why people have faith. I didn't simply, out of the blue, post a list of the miracles I have experienced, and tell anybody "therefore you should listen to me about God".

It never has been that way. But nor will I back down. All of these things are objective facts. None of them are delusions. God is, and I know it for sure, because I'm still alive, because I've seen him raise the dead, because he has grabbed me and talked to me, because I've seen a demon and been hit by the holy dove.

This seems to drive you mad with rage, so you hurl my own experiences back at me as a sort of accusation. You are accusing me of having spoken with and encountered God. Now, because your belief in God is weak, and you treat it like a game - a mean game of a mean-spirited, bitter and twisted old man who obsesses about things like Pol Pot's education (WHO CARES?)(YOU do - and that makes you a nut, frankly, because of the WAY you care about that) - because of that, it bothers you that this Vicomte13 whom you despise has talked to God and encountered God and you have not.

So you belch lies and scream that it's all delusions. It is not. It is true.

You will die, probably sooner than me, but it makes no difference. You will die. And when you do, you will have a life review, and you will recall and see your entire life, including this very moment.
