Season Gretings I reposted it as a thread so everyone who knows WTP would be sure to see it. So WTP wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and Gatlin spun it into "Season Gretings". Quanza, Festivus etc. gretings to Gatlin. To everyone else, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

That some kind of spice for the Thanksgvng Terky? I could simply ignore this, but I choose not to because you were off LF for a while and obviously did not read where I explained something before in a couple of posts when I made spelling or grammatical errors. Therefore, I feel that it has become necessary for me to once again share my personal situation. I will begin by sincerely apologizing for any and all spelling and grammatical errors in my posts. The reason for these errors is not laziness or poor education. The reason for the errors is that I am undergoing major eye surgery and the latest was a cornea transplant in my right eye which brought the vision in it back up to a fuzzy 20/80. I am also having work done on the retina in my left eye where my vision now is a very cloudy 20/50. I can personally assure you that the eye operations are not fun and getting shots in my eyeballs is not something I look forward to on a continuing basis. But Ce qui sera sera [what will be will be]. There is more French to copy and use, Deckard. I still enjoy posting on LF although I am continually picking up and putting down a large magnifying glass in order to post here. This does cause me problems with proof reading and sometimes I don’t even bother with the large magnifying at all….I just key in the letters and let ‘er rip. So, I please ask for your indulgence in considering the errors you will continue to see in my posts. And if those errors bother you greatly, or you feel the need to poke fun at me for my handicap…then I respectfully ask that you place me on your bozo list….if that’s okay with you. I still have a great quality of life and while growing old is wonderful….it can also be a bitch when it comes with some handicap liabilities, which I am sure all of you will eventually encounter someday if you live as long as I have. Thank you in advance for any understanding you may have and for any respectful consideration you choose to show me…only with my posting difficulties. However, if you want to continue with your ridicule….that’s fine, you can of course freely do that. BTW the way, I personally feel I am doing one fine job posting for someone long past the stage of being legally blind. I recently had to take a hiatus from LF for surgeries and treatments….I expect to have to do so again at some time. I will close by saying that I used the magnifying glass while composing this post and hope I did not make any errors. How about everyone now giving me a grade for my posting here on this one post….with “3” being good, “2” being okay and “1” being poor. I will continue to try to do my best. That’s all I have to give …
I have not become WTP’s press agent and neither am I his gopher. It is simply that WTF sent the message to everyone in a post addressed only to me with no additional ping list. Therefore, I felt that it would be a kindly thing to do….to post his message on a thread where everyone could see since he just made a drive-by post and he was gone. If making that gesture which I saw as an act of kindness in some way offended or irritated you….then I apologize for having done that. Well considering that my eyesight is damn near blindness, I can say that some of my posts also have had grammatical errors in them as well. To be fair, I'd give your post per this thread a solid 2.
Then you also realize that compensations and adjustments serve a good purpose. Graciously accepted….thank you.

All I can hope for is to maintain the status quo. The good news is that the majority of the time while my right eye will always be a fuzzy 20/80 and essentially no good for anything except to keep me from running into doors if I loose complete vision in my left eye….my left eye comes up for periods of time [sometimes long periods of time] to 20/40. The importance of this is that in Arizona one can legally drive when one has at least 20/40 vision in only one eye. So, I am now presently in the 20/40 stage. I can drive everywhere I need to, but I must do so carefully. My wife of 63 years is my “seeing eye” associate while I drive. Funny, but true. She can no longer drive so she double checks everything ahead and offsetting sides to act as my co-pilot. I would not ever feel safe on the freeway driving at 65 MPH, but I am comfortable staying on the side streets at up to 45 MPH. More information than you need here but I have some free time and decided to spend it with you….hope you didn’t mind.

I have long suspected that the Admiral and gatlin were more than just butt buddies... Or did they once claim they were cousins? Well, anyway, it distressed me no end that gatlin is now having problems that affect his spelling prowess. Too bad a successful wall street player can't afford a device that has a spell checker.. By the way, forgot to include my own holiday wishes... SLEASONS GLEATS Y'ALL!!!
It apparently did. Quite well. Given his 5,000 posts since to Deckard since. Ironically, all that squinting and straining at a computer monitor can NOT be good for recuperating eyes.
