Ok,so what's the big deal, other than watching carefully to make sure you don't burn it? I used to heat C-Rations and boil coffee using C-4 plastic explosives all the time.

#3. To: Stoner (#2) LOL !!! A lot of people think you are lying when you tell them about that, LOL !! Well, fires are nothing but slow-motion explosions, and explosions are nothing more than VERY fast moving fires. The only thing you have to be careful about when cooking or boiling water with plastic explosives it to make DAMN SURE you let it burn out. If you try to stomp the fire out you will be sorry. Bet ya don't do it more than once, though. Hard to stomp out a fire with a crutch.
#4. To: sneakypete (#3) Well, fires are nothing but slow-motion explosions, and explosions are nothing more than VERY fast moving fires. While that can be true, it is certainly not necessarily true.
#5. To: no gnu taxes (#4) While that can be true, it is certainly not necessarily true. Of course it's true. Compress ANY fire and you get an explosion.
#6. To: sneakypete (#5) You don't need to compress a fire to get an explosion.
#11. To: no gnu taxes (#6) You don't need to compress a fire to get an explosion. Well, yeah, you do. That pretty much defines explosions. It's what blasting caps do.
#12. To: sneakypete (#11) Well, yeah, you do. That pretty much defines explosions. It's what blasting caps do. I don't even know why I bother explaining. You don't don't need combustion to cause an explosion. An explosion is simply a sudden release of gases with a strong force. It can be a chemical or even physical reaction that causes this. It can happen anaerobically.
#16. To: no gnu taxes (#12) I don't even know why I bother explaining. I do. It's because you don't know what you are talking about, and refuse to admit you are wrong. You don't don't need combustion to cause an explosion. Uhhhh,a combustion IS an explosion. An explosion is simply a sudden release of gases with a strong force. And it just happens? Nothing causes it? It can be a chemical or even physical reaction that causes this. Yes,and that reaction is the creation of heat, which expands and causes compression and combustion.
