Man, he is really on fire. He will take a lot of flak from the Dems and leftists for this.

I assume it has to be Trump's address to the U.N.

To find such videos, you can go to YouTube, do a search for "Trump", then hit the Filter button and click "Last hour" to get videos about Trump that were posted in the last hour.

So go watch this clip on your wife's computer since yours is too lame to show this clip. And keep an eye on computer prices. Those AMD Ryzen chips will drive prices down, probably $50 or more on the sub-$500 machines.

Do I detect a note of condescension? I'm simply being frugal -- fixed income and all. And I am on my wife's computer.

You can tell I am because, for some reason, the word wrap feature at LF sometimes doesn't work. So you'll see "The quick br br br brown fox."

Reviewing the clip from the U.N., I note Trump emphasizing national sovereignty (never popular with the UNocrats). He hit at the Iran deal and Syria (nods of approval from Bibi) and at the Norks over Otto Warmbier.

All in all, a good speech straight off the teleprompter with no ad libbing. I heard the influence of Stephen Miller but also nat-sec fixtures like McMaster and Kelly.

Perhaps I missed the more volatile bits. no gnu taxes could tell us what he found the most hard-hitting along with the timestamp in the clip.

Overall, I'd give it slightly higher marks than Dumbya's speeches to the U.N. back in 2003.

His hands are so tiny that I doubt he could even pick up the Red Phone to Moscow if he had to try to avert a nuclear war with Bad Vlad. LOL

More reporting from HotGas. I'll tack it on to this thread rather than start another one.

Trump lowered the boom on many bad actors, including the UNocrats themselves.

Donald Trump intended to use his speech at the UN General Assembly to reframe US foreign policy around the philosophy of “principled realism.” Turtle Bay may not have been prepared for just how real it was going to get. After spending the first part of his speech outlining the critical role of national sovereignty to peace and prosperity, Trump launched a roaring attack on North Korea and its dictator, Kim Jong-un. Calling him “Rocket Man,” Trump pledged to “totally destroy” the DPRK if the UN does not succeed in ending the regime’s threat to the US:

— POLITICO (@politico) September 19, 2017

Trump also had a pointed message for Iran as well. After noting that the Iranian people are the longest-suffering victims of the regime in Tehran, Trump strongly suggested that the nuclear-weapons deal of 2015 would not last much longer. He also demanded that Iran release Americans it currently detains, as well as other foreign nationals, and that the UN demand an end to Iran’s “pursuit of death and destruction”:

Give Trump credit for bringing his authentic self to the United Nations, at the very least. If his supporters worried about the supposed “globalists” on his staff watering down Trump’s approach on foreign policy, the president dispelled all of those worries in his 40-minute address. He made it clear that US policy would take a sharp turn towards self-interest and put nations on notice over trade. More importantly, Trump expressed clear, explicit, and unmistakable warnings about American action to explicit threats, including a passionate demand for united action against “radical Islamic terrorism,” a phrase he deliberately drew out for emphasis.

Trump also derided a shift toward socialism in world politics, asserting that a century of history showed that its end result is always “great despair” and destruction. He took pointed aim at the Maduro government in Venezuela, noting the targeted sanctions on its leaders. “The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented,” Trump said in perhaps the most memorable line of the speech, “but that socialism has been faithfully implemented.” The comment drew nervous laughs from the General Assembly and belated applause, but make no mistake — Trump scored a direct hit with that line.

The UN may not be used to hearing an American president speak quite this bluntly and directly about other member states, and it remains to be seen how they will react to it. (Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted out immediately that he’d never heard a UN speech this brave or sharp, but don’t expect that to be the universal reaction.) Trump at least has as much invested in the reaction at home, though, and this speech should pay off handsomely with his supporters. It emphasizes Trump’s election-campaign themes from immigration to counterterrorism, and that will perhaps recast expectations that subordinates are driving overall policy decisions. . . .

Good stuff.

I wouldn't call that facepalming by Kelly.

It's easy to catch a few frames of someone out of an hour of video and misrepresent their public demeanor.

A disgusting and disgraceful exhibition by President Trump.

Perhaps you'd prefer that affairs of state be conducted by President Hillary?

If he sucks, she sucked twice as hard.

I think it was balanced, from an american perspective, he took a shot at all the usual suspects, and he took credit for battles he had not won. I'm disappointed he did not address the scourge of drugs which needs a higher priority at the UN. He certainly toned down the rhetoric of the South China Sea so popular in the Obama era and of course he tipped his hat to Israel.

Not a false choice. On election day, you were going to get one or the other.

What is false is insisting there was another viable choice on November 7.

So after a lifetime in a Democrat Republican wonderland you were blindsided by two aholes on the ballot Nov 7?

On election day, you had only four candidates who could get enough electoral votes to be elected president: Shitlery, Trump, Johnson, and Stein.

If one of those four was not elected, then the House would have picked the president according to their arcane rules.

So cavil and carp all you like but that is the law.
